Biggest, cleanest Insomnia I’ve ever been to. Everything in Durham closes at 9 pm, so if you have a hankering for dessert, this is one of you few options.

Fast fun and friendly the young lady at the desk was knowledgeable and ready to give me the hot and just out of the oven cookies social distancing was on point and everybody had a mask on whether it was needed or not. Beautiful store the great for the late-night snack ice cream and other toppings perfect for a late night study session. I will be ordering again. Oh and they have drum roll please gluten-free cookies that are amazing so some of us dont have to feel left out when ordering yeah

Definitely worth trying. I love them, but theyre addictive. Delivery made it within an hour, and they fixed my order with no hassle.

Is a mediocre cookie worth your health and safety? I purchased cookies here and they made my girlfriend INCREDIBLY SICK in 2 hours. She does not have an allergy, and it was late at night, so we hadn’t eaten anything else for many hours.I will be filling a formal complaint with NC Consumer Protection. Insomnia Cookies, Durham, must be held accountable for unsafe operations.I rarely write reviews, and I hope someone will see this and decide against going here. I hope this review will prevent someone else from experiencing excruciating pain and illness. It’s a cookie shop, it’s just not worth the risk.

Awesome cookies and super fast service. Placed my order on the app and it was delivered within 20 minutes! Fresh, warm cookies. Delivery driver was very polite and called upon arrival to drop off on porch for contactless delivery.

Rude and out of everything. Tried ordering salted caramel, double chocolate and chocolate out of all of them. Me and husband wore masks but our asthmatic little girl didnt. The cashier went to back to get a manager just to tell my daughter and us she cant be helped. I just ordered a few sugars and just walked out and let husband pay and wait. Wont be back but why would they care anyways?

Do you like placing online orders, waiting over ten minutes past the time you ordered them, and then still being told its gonna be another ten minutes? Then have I got the place for you! Dont bother with this place if youre looking for something sweet and quick.

I went in and asked for a triple chocolate chunk but it was a 10 min wait and I couldn’t wait 10 minutes for a cookie... so I was gonna settle and buy a regular chocolate chunk and the lady instead gave it to me for free, I offered to pay her and she said no and wouldn’t take my money! Great service! My husbands only request for his birthday was he wanted a cookie cake. I had never ordered from here before, so I mistakenly order the pickup for 12:30 am instead of 12:30 pm. The employees pointed out the cake had been sitting all night and offered to make a new cookie cake. It was ready in an hour and my husband was beyond thrilled with the cake. Thanks for making his birthday special!

Honestly, some of y’all have way too high of expectations for a shop that just opened in the middle of a global pandemic. Tonight was my second time there. First time I walked in on a Saturday night, ordered, and was asked to wait outside to limit exposure. I was told it would be a few minutes since they were making a fresh batch. I waited about 15 minutes for my order to be brought out to me, which is pretty reasonable to get fresh cookies in my opinion. Tonight, I placed my order online around 8:50pm for earliest pick up at 9:15pm. Arrived on time and cookies were packed up on time, warm, and delicious. They’re crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Staff were all pleasant and wearing masks both times. I do wish they had a bottle of hand sanitizer available after opening the door.

All I can say is yummy!!!! Was very pleased with the selection of cookies. Will be returning soon.

There is no parking available. You have to walk from a distance to the store. The cashier was great. The other staff was not very friendly. We received super hard cookies in the the box of a dozen. But the the specialty cookie I order seperatly was the peanut butter cup cookie and it was amazing its actually one of the best cookies I have ever eaten. I just think overall it could use improvement.

The others are great too...but THAT cookie could be the death of me!I ordered online and picked the cookies up with no problems at all. I selected curbside pickup and they brought the cookies out to the car as soon as I pulled up.

Man, Ive heard alot about these cookies, but its a whole different experience when actually trying them out first hand. I thought how different could they be, but its so good, hard to explain but you definitely have to get 6!😎

I was very disappointed ordering from insomnia cookies and having them delivered. I ordered 24 cookies and was hoping to share these 24 cookies with the people watching an outdoor movie with me. I ordered the cookies around 7:35pm and they got delivered unfortunately after the two hour movie when everyone was leaving. The cookies were delivered cold. It was a waste of money. Maybe for future if its going to take a long time, contact the costumer and let them know so we can decide if we still want them or not.

Four friends and I had ordered two dozen cookies around 10:15 this evening. At 11:15pm we called to check the status. The central customer service line had no idea what was going on and could not contact the store or the store manager. Cookies never delivered and the customer service agent still cannot contact anyone in the store. It appears the store is not functional despite the website stating their open for pick up AND delivery being available until 1am. This is a very very poor start for this new location. Hope to see some intervention in the future.

This place is terrible!!! I ordered 6 cookies they told me it was a 25 minute wait. I said ok came back in 20 minutes and they told me they sold my cookies cause they got busy, and said I had to wait another 25 minutes!!! Then got mad with me cause I asked why you sell my cookies that I already paid for?!!!!! Terrible service

My boyfriend placed our order online, this was my first time experiencing Insomnia. We placed the order at 5:31pm Saturday 8/15. Our pickup time was set for 6pm. That was perfect because we ordered pizza from another business that would be ready for pick up at 6:15pm. We made our way to Insomnia and arrived just before 6pm. Parking is an absolute clusterfck being that they are a store front business with no dedicated parking on a busy street in downtown Durham. Not my first time dealing with this type of scenario, but the added torrential downpour didnt help the situation. I managed to find a spot in front of the nearby funeral home and just turned my hazzard lights on. I ran through the rain and got into the store. I let the lady at the counter know the order name and I was told it would be about 5 more minutes. She asked where I was parked and since it wasnt right out front of the store, when the order was ready shed call me, have me pull up and park in the bike lane, and bring the order out to my car.I ran back out in the rain to my car since waiting inside businesses just isnt a thing anymore. We proceeded to wait... 5mins got us to 6pm when the order was quoted to be ready online, plus that was the additional time I was quoted in the store. 5mins later at 6:05pm still waiting, still no phone call, and the online status indicated baking. A spot opened up right out front in the bike lane, so I pulled up and we proceeded to wait an additional 10 more minutes. Now its 6:15pm; no phone call and still no cookies. I went BACK out into the rain and entered the store to check on the status of my order. I called the store 3x and never got an answer. This time the lady that told me 5mins 20mins ago is now sitting across the store on a laptop. I told the gentleman behind the counter the order name. He went back to the kitchen and came out with yet another 5min quote; this time we were waiting on the sprinkle cookie batch to finish. I was told the same story, when its ready well bring it to the car. Before I leave again the lady at the laptop warns me about parking in the bike lane; the very place she told me to pull up to when she misquoted my wait time 20mins ago. Back out into the rain to WAIT some more. TEN MINUTES later, im back in the store, fortunately this time as I walked in the door the young man was coming out of the kitchen with my order.UNFORTUNATELY we got 2 blocks down the street only to discover the icecream we ordered was practically melted, the sprinkle cookie we waited on was warm out the oven but rushed and basically a small pile of dough in the center, and we were missing 2 cookies from our order. I quickly turned around in the middle of the street and went back. Another dash through the rain; I go inside and now theres 2 new employees behind the counter. Im barely greeted, I indicate im missing cookies. I get no apology for the oversight, no apology for the extensive wait, no thank you for my patience... just simply what cookie are you missing? How many do you need? and then I was sent on my way. No one I encountered this whole time seemed to be in charge, or give me any indication that they wouldve cared had I asked to speak with a manager regarding my displeasure with the order and service, so I moved on.For a first time experience it took nearly an hour to be subjected to unfavorable parking options in inclement weather, several inaccurate quote times, a partial order, under cooked cookies, and melted icecream. Not exactly a situation thats begging for repeat business and positive word of mouth in the streets.

I dont know why people gave them 1-star ratings but I had NO issues when I went. The cookies were good. The only thing I would tell people who have never been here is to make sure you find parking somewhere. There is no parking lot for Insomnia Cookies at this location and parking on the street may be dangerous due to traffic. The oatmeal chocolate walnut cookie was good but it was really rich due to the chocolate. I tried the bride cake icecream and it was ok. But the snickerdoodle cookie is always Always ALWAYS a great choice! Hope this helps someone.

I went there to get cookies. I walked in and was told it would be 20 mins before we could order. Everyone was upset saying it was taking over a hour to get cookies. I left. I tried to visit again to get the lemon cookie. Both times I was told theyWere waiting for a truck. They were under staffed.
