Shannon did a fantastic job for my company! I had an emergency repair widening the brackets on the replacement trailer axel I had. Not only did he perfectly relocate the brackets to where I requested them, but he also painted the brackets to look factory made. All this in under 24 hours turnaround time for a very reasonable price and superb customer service! I highly recommend Shannon for your welding/machining needs!

As a home mechanic there are some jobs that are impossible to do without the right tool, but the right tool is just outside of your budget or regular needs. Having a good local machine shop - run by someone who knows what they’re doing - is indispensable.My problem was a brake rotor frozen by rust to a hub - no amount of penetrating oil and hammering was gonna separate these things. Enter Shannon with his hydraulic press - from the time I pulled up to having both rotors separated from their hub was less than five minutes, which included him putting on shoes (I caught him after a full day of work, just trying to relax on the back porch). Shannon has a great shop that’s nicely organized, he’s super polite, and he definitely knows what he’s doing.Highly recommended!

Awesome service on my outboard motor housing. I thought she was a goner but Barons Machine shop was able to erase damage done by a shady mechanic and make it usable again. Shannon is a great guy. I spoke with him on the telephone and an hour later I was standing in his machine shop with my parts. He measured my cylinder bore and looked over my head and told me my parts were good to go and didn’t need any work. He wouldn’t even take any money for his time looking at my parts.

Great experience at Barons. Was able to bring the work over and get this 6 ID 12 long pipe turned and pressed on to an SUV brake rotor to build a lamp base. Good price, nice shop and easy to work with. I will use Barons again!

I had a pair of adapters made by a different machine shop out of state for my lathe, and that particular individual did a horrible job. I just happened to luck out finding Barons Machine Shop on a google search, The guy is knowledgeable and skilled, and went over and above correcting the issues with the aluminum adapters that I had already purchased, they fit like a glove now and work perfectly. The turnaround time was ridiculously short as well, and the cost of his services was very reasonable. I would recommend the shop to anybody who is in need of a machine shop for any reason

Baron has an amazing shop, best prices and is obviously very knowledgeable in his trade. I broke a bolt extractor inside my outboard motor block trying to remove a broken head bolt. I took it to Baron who removed the broken head bolt. I asked a few questions and he went out of his way to do a few more things for me and wouldn’t even let me pay him for the extras. Excellent service and he thoroughly enjoys and is good at what he does.

I could not have been happier with this experience!! Baron was friendly, incredibly helpful, knew exactly what I was looking for, and charged me a very reasonable price! He was very quick to tell me when he was available and the work was done in a prompt manner! I would absolutely recommend this shop!

Hello Terry here called Shannon on Saturday morning needed a drag bar for my 40 year old Craftsman tiller. He told me to come over and he did an amazing job straighten and drilled holes. This is on a Saturday. You wont find service like this in Durham or anywhere. Very happy

Needed a threaded hole drilled to secure my bike rack to the hitch for a cross-country road trip back to Utah and Shannon got it done quick and easy. Great machine shop in Durham. This machine shop is outstanding! I brought Shannon a strut that had a seized bolt it in. I never thought this bolt could possibly come out, but shannon is got this done! Mr. Young did an excellent job fitting new shafts and bushings in my antique Ford steering column. This is an old-school shop, tidy and professional. I was impressed by the responsiveness and the care taken to do the job exactly right. Price was very reasonable.

A storm had broken one of our patio chairs made of pot metal (I think pot metal is tricky to weld), but Mr. Young fixed it in a couple of days at a very reasonable charge. Hed even painted the welded area to match the finish. We highly recommend him!
