Fantastic. I dont get to go there enough. Always love the home made sausage patties. Got the veggie omelet, very fresh veg including the spinach. No frozen spinach there. Good coffee, with my wheat toast the server brought homemade apple butter and raspberry preserves with some whipped butter.Homemade hot sauce too. Not hot enough for me but still good. FYI shake well before using.
Super delicious, really nice staff- had a party of 6 and they held our table until the entire party got there. All the food looked, smelled, and tasted fantastic. Great atmosphere, cute little place. Wish it was bigger or that they had another location. Im actually in Indy and traveled to Merrillville to see friends, and apparently that is one of their favorite sports to get food. I see why now. Ill definitely be back.
The taffy apple pancakes are amazing!!!! Home made hot sauce, jelly, and ketchup, along with hand ground beef and brined corned beef.... this dude knows what hes doing!!
We have only lived in the area for a short period but we have hear that this place was very good and it did not disappoint! My wife and I shared the Aloha Skillet and the ribeye sandwich and they are both very good! Very nice and refreshing to have a unique but delicious meal.Definitely going back soon
This is my absolute favorite breakfast place. The jams are made from scratch and I’m pretty sure the ketchup is too. That’s an indicator of the attention to detail and excellence. The breakfast sausage is closer to Italian sausage, which isn’t my favorite. It’s a bit tight on space, so off prime hours are your best bet for fast seating.
Often a wait because its delicious. (Hint, check Google for busy times.) Abundant refills on coffee, great service. Large portions (dont be ashamed to take it home and eat it tomorrow too.) Definitely one of the best breakfast places in northwest Indiana (though tbh not much competition.) Were picky eaters and love this place.
This place was great when they first opened. The last couple of times, I have been very disappointed, and today was the worst. We were told 25 to 30 minutes wait for a table and another 20 to 30 wait for the food. We were fine with having to wait, but then another group came in quite a bit after us that was told the same. However, one of the hostesses knew them, and said dont worry Ill make sure its not that long. She then proceeded to flirt with one of the guys in the group. Sure enough they were seated before us. Also, the bathroom I used was dirty. My food was good (the Boston) but my husbands was burnt not blackened( he ordered the blackened chicken). With all the great breakfast places in the area, we will not be going back.
I love scrambled! They make their own sauces and jams and they are so good! Their skillets are amazing! I love the mighty Irish. Their food and service are outstanding. I highly recommend scrambled.
So yummy. Everything is fresh and homemade. Well worth the money!
The food is always amazing. Whenever i come back to the area I have to eat there at least one time.
We have been coming in for years and love the food and know and except that the wait to be seated can be very long. What made me very angry today about our experience is that we waited to be seated very patiently, then ordered but our food was an additional hour+ wait. That is absolutely ridiculous. Other tables that were seated after us got their food way way before us. The waitress very obviously did not put in our order and it was just totally unacceptable. The new staff has zero idea what is going on and are very obviously struggling. We had to leave without eating because they had no idea when are food was coming and after waiting so long we had had enough and the kids were starving. I honestly don’t know if we will go back.
This is a real shame. I loved this restaurant. I wont go anymore though. I walked out when I learned the staff was required to get vaccinated or where a mask. I cannot believe the owner went for this nonsense to appease a few customers.
Fantastic family diner that makes a mean breakfast (and lunch). The portions are huge and prices are super reasonable. Just look at all that lobster spilling out of my buttered roll! Great skillets and breakfast burritos. There’s a reason why there’s always a wait here on weekends. They also have a carry out window for takeout.
Havent had a bad meal yet! If you havent been there, get there! Staff is friendly, place is clean, and have some very interesting seafood dishes for breakfast!
Excellent tasting food and good service. I ordered the Cajun skillet, which was very tasty. Food was served quickly after ordering, despite the restaurant being at full capacity and on a wait. Staff were friendly and took care of our needs in a timely manner.
The food is great and unique. Small so be ready to wsit.
Not happy. Ive been coming here since theyve been open. Ive been really disappointed by my last two visits. The turkey sausage was extremely over cooked, twice. I notified management the first time and was given a credit. I went back today to redeem my credit, and the turkey sausage was just as over cooked as the last time. Sausage shouldnt be cooked to the point where its crispy on one side. Not to mention it was very dry, nearly inedible. It appears to have placed in the skillet and then left to cook until done without being turned. Sadly, this may be the end of my patronage of Scrabmled Diner.
Havent been to this place in a while, thought Id treat myself for old time sake. The staff were theyre usual friendly selves, but the breakfast was just ok that day. I ordered turkey sausage and bacon(came with toast and hashbrowns), eggs and French toast with blueberries. The French toast was great. The bacon was ok. The turkey sausage was tiny and over cooked. I forgot to ask for the hashbrowns to be cooked well done. They are never done enough for me. This time was no exception. The eggs were just eggs. Not fluffy and no flavor! I refuse to pay over a dollar for a sliver of cheese just to make the eggs palatable. This meal cost me over$20. There was plenty of food, but I expected better from them. Ive had better from them! I dont eat out often so my expectations are high. They missed the mark, but Ill give them another chance because I know they can do better.
Our waitress Cami was amazing! The food was amazing! The place is much smaller than we thought so the wait on a Saturday morning was quite long (about 45 minutes). The food was worth the wait!
The best wholesome breakfast!I dont know if staff changes or I went on a bad day a couple times from my first vista, but the food quality went down a little... And Im still having a hard time ordering a crab wrap and I know what imitation crab looks and tastes like and thats wht I was served...
I had the Boston skillet and husband had the mighty Irish skillet and we had the french toast everything was so delicious. Love this place
Friendly environment and nice place to catch a quick bite just not good food
Delicious fresh foods, generous proportions, never disappointed.Recommended: French Toast Club.Located away from the busy traffic of routes 30 and 41, its in a prime location to serve tasty breakfast options to south Dyer, northwest St. John, and the homes near the Illinois border in Sauk Village and unincorporated Crete.
Small quaint out of the way spot for breakfast. The service was pretty good, as well as the food. Bacon was nice and semi thick cut. Prices were fair and on par with most places to eat.
This vegetarian was in heaven! My grandma & I had the nicest breakfast this morning on the patio. The wait staff was great and the food was so flavorful! Weve finally found a favorite breakfast spot! So glad we found the Scrambled Diner! Dont forget to ask for their housemade hot sauce. It brilliantly complements the florentine wrap. Oh...and the hasbrowns are a game changer!
Theyre menu is fresh and they home make everything even their ketchup its good 👍 try it out.
HUGE omelets stuffed with a ton of cheese. So good, definitely recommend
Best Hash Browns anywhere! Extensive menu. Get the sausage, bacon was dry. Great service.
Terrible service. 1st time there and waited 40 minutes to be seated. Then told it was an additional 30 minute wait once you order. Get it together. Zero stars if it were possible.
Small little place but cozy. Stopped in with sister and food was good. Only one waitress working but service was still good. Had blue cheese omelet. Very good flavor and presented well.
Absolutely astounding, service, cleanliness, but most of all the food was great! Everything homemade
Had to ask for coffee several times. A bit slow but breakfast was good
I love the Boston skillet! The house made jam is so good!!
My husband and I love the food here. So far we like everything weve tried! And the staff is great. Definitely recommend!
An absolute pleasurable experience .
Great breakfast every time 😋 I want to order the lobster sandwich every time but I opted for mushroom omelet every time. The homemade sausage tastes just like our homemade Italian sausage with lots of fennel. Hard work pays off. Keep up the good work!!!
Cute place with a nice homey feel. Their portions are pretty big for the price. Everything felt really clean, and our server was really fast and friendly. My only qualm would be with their vegetarian/vegan options. I believe they have some, but it would be nice if it was clearly marked on the menu. 😊9/10 would go again.
Very cozy restaurant. The menu was different than any place Ive ever gone. I had the burrito with chorizo, there was so much chorizo it was overflowing, tasted so great. Will definitely go back.
Fantastic place; friendly staff ; super kid friendly ; humongous portions, loved this place !!
Wait staff never friendly.Never. Its like they all have chip on there shoulders and Ive been there like 10 times its always the same attitude I dont get it.
Probably the best little place in the area. Call ahead or you will be waiting for the food.Absolutely everything here is large portions and very much full of flavor. PS. You must try the cinnamon rolls, they are by far the best and shareable size!
Always wonderful. Staff is attentive, polite and friendly. Restrooms, dining area and cooking area always cleans. Very unique and innovative meals on the menu. Today, I had the Aloha Skillet which was great!
Fabulous food, just fabulous! 👏👏
I expected a very warm and inviting atmosphere, it was a tight fit and not very welcoming in its appearance, but we stayed and ordered.. I ordered a breakfast creole scramble that sounded amazing, but it was over seasoned. I picked through it and could only eat the shrimp after wiping off some of the seasoning. It wasnt salty or bursting with flavor....it was just....muddy with bland seasoning. I cant really explain it any better than that, I then decided to order the hash browns with veggies, SO GOOD! The biscuits with apple butter is amazing and the staff was uber friendly. Next time I will try a different dish. (I usually visit restaurants twice if I wasnt happy with the food the first time, jic the chef was having an off day).
Great food, next time my kids order pancakes I will ask them to go easy on the toppings though.
Always great food and service, we stop every time we are in the area.
Not a sweets guy but the cinnamon roll was delicious and the skillet was tasty
There bacon and egg sandwich is awesome
It was awesome. Breakfast was outstanding, fresh veggies. Great staff, friendly helpful. Awesome menu. I wanted to try everything, especially the lobster mac. Great prices as well. What a gem. Thank you.
The food and service was great.
This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. Usually busy during the weekend but safe, clean and many options for whatever your pallet is that day.
My family and I love Scrambled! Always fresh and consistently delicious! My favorite is The Boston with all the yummy chunks of seafood. In fact, me and my 3 children always get the Boston and my husband gets The Big Daddy. We usually will share the banana foster pancakes. Its so hard to try something new but I recently gave up meat & seafood so my last visit I got a veggie scramble and it was amazing as expected. 😊
The diner is small, neat and clean. It practices social distancing. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is plenty of off the street free parking. The food is fresh, delicious, nicely portioned and reasonably priced. There isnt a long wait for your order. I would recommend this eatery.
Always good food, generous size omelets
A great little place for breakfast. Service is always excellent here!
Lobster wrap for breakfast was delicious, also like the wilted greens omelet. Best breakfast place. Service is always excellent.
Awesome food. Lots of it too. Definitely going again.
Staff is friendly and welcoming, service is great and food is always wonderful.
This place is amazing try everything including their cinnamon rolls. Hot and gooey...fresh. their sausage is home made and everything is made from scratch. Simply fantastic!! If their is a wait...WAIT!!
I was in Dyer Indiana For one weekendSomeone else recommended them And they are awesome I ate their Saturday morning and Sunday morning
5 STAR service. Definitely recommend!
Excellent food and great service dont get that to often. Thanks ladies for the great service💯👍👍
Good food and the staff was friendly.
GREAT BREAKFAST, GREAT ALL AROUND PLACE TO EAT !
By far the best breakfast place Ive been to, and i go out to eat pretty often. Will b back soon!!
Im giving this place 5 stars because Ive only heard very good things about it - unfortunately when we went we were unable to get in as the wait was so long. Maybe next time !
Good place to eat, not many in the area. You should try them out.
I asked waitress that I want to add sausage patties and poached eggs on biscuits then gravy all over . Surely they did and am glad.
The food and service was excellent.
Very good breakfasts.
Went in to done but it was small and our backs were gone step from the beverage machine where they fill everyone drinks, uncomfortable and congested. No photos were taken, didnt order either. Left.
This place is 48 minutes away from but the breakfast is sooo worth it. But those monkey cakes mmmmm sooo goood... Pancakes with melted peanut butter, melted chocolate, whipped cream and bacon pieces alllll over....... yummmmmmm!
Went at a great time, not busy which is unusual. Sat outside my husband ordered the French toast club and I ordered the Vegetarian breakfast wrap both were great. Server was very good and was wiping down everything when not serving.
Very unique menu that taste great. I cant wait to go back.
I liked it but long wait
I have been to many places...but never have I had such a unique experience... The waitresses were wonderful... The atmosphere super clean.... And the food was the best that I have ever experienced....so flavorful.
One of my favorite breakfast places. Everything made from scratch and great customer service. I cannot recommend this place high enough. Be warned though, this place is very busy and well loved so prepare to wait if you dont have a reservation. If you have never been here you definitely need to go!
