Really cool and helpful staff, got my fathers boat fixed and winterized no problem, they really felt like family taking care of him and his boat

I took my Polaris Ranger in for a basic tune up, a winch replacement and some engine issues. The estimate for all three was over $3,000. I passed on everything except the tune up and didn’t bother to ask for the price. I got charged $250 for what ended up being an oil change. When I took the machine to Red Wing I got the engine work and wench done for $1,100. There is a shortage of Polaris repair shops in the metro and these guys know it.

Purchased a boat from the owners of Valley Motor sports. And they stand behind my purchase and now they have a customer for life. Great customer service.

I brought in my 2003, 16 foot, 4 stroke Mercury outboard fishing boat to Valley Motor Sports becuase it stopped working while running. They found there was water in the fuel. In good faith, I decided to have them drain the gas, replace the carborator and perform a tune up with some trailer fixes. The cost was $2500, and I brought it out and it stopped working again and needed to be towed to shore near Afton on the St. Croix with my 2 small children. I brought it back and Mark the owner found there was water in the gas again and convinced me it was becuase the fuel vent cover was damaged. They drained the gas and installed the fuel vent and charged me $500 after they assured me they would make it right, and not charge extra. There was no follow up for weeks, I paid it just to get out on the water, and when I brought it out it stopped working again. I brought it to Stillwater marine and there was gas in the fuel again. I wouldnt trust this business with anything but minor repairs and dont let them convince you to add anything other than what isnt working. There were mulitple add ons that I shouldnt have agreed to that increased the cost. Im issuing a BBB complaint as well.

This is the place I have taken all of my boats over the years for maintenance and service. I feel the service is always done with the highest quality and the turn around has always been pretty fast. I would recommend giving Valley Motor Sports a try if you have not done so. You won’t be disappointed.

They do a good job. It’s not cheap but I’ve always been satisfied with the work. They are honest and helpful. I’ve never been recommended anything I didn’t feel was necessary. I have however more than once come in with something to fix that was trivial and instead of upwelling or talking down to me they fix it and explain. You get what you pay for.

I brought my boat in for a warning beep coming from my 115 Merc 4 stroke. They looked at it in couple of days and determined that it needed ECU. It was ordered right away. They kept me up-to-date throughout the order process and installed and tested the day it was received. When I got my boat back home I noticed that they had also fixed a couple of snaps on my boat top that I hadnt even mentioned to them.

Newer to the boating world. Always was on them as a kid but didnt know much about them. I now own my first boat and they have been nothing but professional and patient with me. Theyre willing to take the time to show you how things work if youre just unsure. Theyll have my business for many years to come. Im north of the cities and its worth the drive for me for their service. I appreciate you guys being patient with me.

I love valley motor sports they are always ready to help with whatever you need. They have taken care of my boat for the last year, and they always have me coming back. Jean is great and very knowledgeable when it comes answering any questions concerning your boat. Ive been doing business with Valley for 4+ years now. Always treated me with respect and gave me peace of mind that my boat was being cared for. Ive done basic winterizations, more in-depth winterizations, trailer service and even used their summer storage service for a couple years. Ill continue to do business here as long as I have a boat. Beats the mainstream dealers service and price hands down. If youre looking for a place, youve found them!

Ive been coming to Valley for over 20 years now and I have to believe that the reason my 1997 SeaRay 190BR never had any major issues all these years and with over 1500 hours on it was because of the solid maintenance done on it at Valley. Paid over $700 and boat motor still having issues, unprofessional mechanic didnt take time to fully inspect the boat motor what customer needs to repair. Done doing business with this shop.

They have always done their work in a timely manner, and the work has always been done correctly.I was in the service business for over forty years, I am saddened to see the comments about this company. Exceptional, personal service with knowledgeable and approachable people. Mark is the owner of the business and his family/daughters support him day-to-day. Had engine problems with my 5.0 Merc TKS and they were quick to diagnose the problems and called me each step of the way so I could be a part of the fix. Quality repair with Mark taking the time to walk me through what was wrong and what they did to fix it.We all know what B.O.A.T. stands for and it is hard to part with that money, but the team here made it worth it and the engine performance is above expectations.Thank you Mark and Jean.

I had my 25 horse Merc. outbound serviced here and they did a first rate job at a fair price. I went to another repair shop first and they messed up my motor and tried to fix things that were not broken. It was obvious that Mark and the team at Valley Motor are true experts in repairing marine engines. I will go back to them again.

Ive been going to VMS since we purchased our boat back in 2010. Heres the true sign of quality workmanship: Ive never been stranded in the middle of the river or broken-down on the side of the road. I have complete trust in the workmanship I receive from VMS. Some of these reviews are awful. Not once have I felt taken advantage of at VMS. They are the pros. They often give me advice over the phone. Jean and Mark are very easy to work with. Thanks for the great service.

The only place that I will let work on my boat.

We were quoted $1000 to replace the boat engine. When we checked on the progress of the work the old engine was removed from the boat and we were told we will be charged $1,500. We were taken hostages, and when we refused to pay the new amount they took the boat away. It was three days before July 4th. In the end we paid $1,350, 35% above original quote in order to get the boat. They wrote on the invoice that it was the amount we agreed to pay, but we were given no other choice. This matter will be escalated and I will post the results.

Valley Motor Sports are the best in the business and the only place I would recommend getting work done in the metro. The staff are very experienced and everyone was committed to customer service and getting the job right the first time.

I would give 0 stars if I could. The manager was rude and had a snobby tone . she refused to give my husband a quote over the phone yet when I had called 5 minutes before she told me 164 plus parts . so than when my husband called and asked why so much when all he needed was one set of bearings repacked thats when she said she couldnt help unless we came in. And her attitude changed completely so I went to oreiley auto and I got the entries hub spindle tire and repacked bearings for 54 dollars so Im just dont get how valley motors is rapping the heck out of people. 164 plus parts!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO VALLEY MOTOR SPORTS unless you want to pay 5x more than what it costs anywhere else!!!!! When she was saying why it cost so much she kept repeating that it needs to be cleaned . .. Why would cleaning coat so much. Either way valley motor sports wants you to pay unnecessary things. Dont waste your money!

Didnt even have the chance to get in the door with my motorcycle, because they wouldnt call me back (after 3 attempts) with a quote. Would have liked the chance to give them a try, however my potential business must not have been important to them.

I was referred to Valley Motorsports by friends who have been going there for years and speak highly of them. Bought my first boat the beginning of summer and had maintanence done at Valley. Fairly priced, very friendly, and very informative as I asked lots of questions of Mark and Jean. First outing on the lake and I couldnt get boat started. Called Mark and he patiently walked me through the solution, including texting boat pictures to him. Excellent Customer Service! I would highly recommend Valley Motorsports!

To summarize: $$$$.My complaint is similar to Amys. VMS said I had leaky jet boat carburetors. (I have an 18 foot Jet boat with Merc 235 cc engine.) Suggested they should install carburetor kits. BTW, they claimed they needed 2.5 hrs to discover this - even when spark OK to engine. After installation I asked them the warranty on this work. They said fuel related work is not warrantied. See the sign on the far wall? See the fine print on your invoice. Why didnt they tell me that when they suggested the carburetor kits needed to be replaced? Can you imagine a car repair shop not standing by their work? OMGWe paid booco dollars like Amy. Dropped the boat in the lake, it started and then stalled at half throttle. Had to get towed to shore. I had a puddle of gas on the engine compartment floorHomework:Call several boat repair shops, before you decide. See if they are open on week ends. This company said it was open by appointment on their website ( 6 months ago). We tried 3 times to make a Saturday appointment. Not possible. Had to take PTO time off. They may charge you $25 per day for storing your boat.As always, check Internet to verify a company is a Certified/Authorized repair shop when they say they are. They were not. Tough to find in rural areas. Check Better Business Bureau. This company has at least 3 complaints so far. Add you complaint if you feel over-charged.Dont leave without a written work order from them. Car dealers give you work orders, why not boat repair shops. Dont accept them saying: we may need a couple of hours to find the issue. At $100+ per hour they should know. Good luck.

Great prices on winterization and storage of my boat

Paid close to $1,700 to get boat fixed. Dropped off the boat October they didnt start working on it till after Memorial Day... Get it back 3 weeks later, take boat to the river to test it out... Well they didnt even attempt to fix what was wrong. Nothing was different or changed from the time it was dropped off in October to June When we got it back.. We also called and wanted to speak with someone about what they did to fix what was wrong... That was a month ago... Still waiting on someone to call us back. What gets me is we have taken the boat there for 4 years now!!! Never returning!

Rip off artists. They will not stand behind their work at all. Stay way away!
