Giving 5 stars just because the employee who assisted us (Julio) was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. First manager (female) was also helpful. I do give the second manager (male), the one that showed up at the end, ZERO stars, as he was unfriendly and arrogant.

4 stars because they finally got the ammo limit to a decent amount. I would give 5 stars but it still so hard to get a ffl transfer done there. you have to jump through hoops and then still pay the 40dllr transfer. But regardless there is some good guys at the gun bar and besides the ffl deal they really try and help you out with whatever you need.

They said my academy gift card didnt have any money on it and tried to throw it away. Called the 188# had money on it. They also wouldnt let me run it through the card reader, they just kept typing in the number behind the counter.

They had the ammo in stock I was looking for. The guy behind the counter was helpful

Selection is great asking employees on where to find stuff same as Walmart (they avoid you)

Active duty military, stay away from the firearms counter. They will not accept your orders and ID card to purchase a firearm here, despite any other FFL accepting this. They will ask if you live on base, and if you say no, they will ask for you to provide voter registration, property tax, or something else to prove residency (not just handguns, for rifles too). Instead, make the drive to San Antonio, they will sell you a firearm just like a standard FFL.

I had never been treated the way I was treated today. I know the virus is a big concern and everyone is doing the best that they can to protect each other but when you have two kids and are by yourself companies or at least the manager in charged should help out some how.I was received by a nice gentleman at the door that stated it that only two members are allowed at the store. Now if you think about it, four people can go in at the same time if they just simply say they are not family members. I have two little ones and I told them I had travel just to come to this store and buy them shoes. He told me that I couldn’t come. He asked me if I wanted to talk to a manager. As soon as the manager by the name of Hector showed up he had a bad mood. He didn’t even let me explain what happen, he immediately told me you can’t come in. Only two members. Now, am wearing a mask, my kids are wearing a mask, there were at least 40 people inside the store walking around.Something should be done to try and help those who can’t or don’t have assistance with kids.I am very disappointed and sad that they couldn’t help me out. All I wanted was to get some shoes for school. Thank for not helping #ACADEMY.Not coming back ever. I will try to advocated and raise my concern as much as I can. That manager should take some classes on customer service.Worst service ever.

There have been several times that I have gone into the store and they have not had the item in stock that I was looking for. Over all the store is great especially for the small town that it is located in and usually has a terrific selection of merchandise. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

I love that its here in Eagle Pass, here in my hometown. Its clean and organized. All your sporting goods needs always a person to welcome you and a designated person per department for assistance and this store has plenty of that. I love coming here.

This was my first ever experience at an Academy Sports and it was a great first experience. The large selection they had was fantastic and they had some really awesome sales that saved me quite a bit of money.

Overall good place, however, I have had a lot of instances where items are in the wrong place leading to price confusion.

The store is well maintained, clean and hospitable. Great variety of items to chose from. Its a great place to shop. Stop by, you wont regret it.

GUN BUYERS BEWAREI came looked at a few guns at this store and couldn’t decide on a rifle or a handgun. So the next day I took my husband with me to look at them. When I finally made my decision the employee waiting on us refused to sell it to me because my husband asked to see it first. I explained to the young employee that it is illegal if my husband purchases the gun for me under his name but he or the manger couldn’t understand that. So I made it easy for them I will no longer shop at store. If I could give no stars I would have.

Shoutout to laura at the front doors and Raul some manager!! They really made my experience at this academy the worst thanks for not taking your time to help me. Little advice if you dont like your job find another but dont go to work expecting not to work and just stand around doing nothing. Good thing I didnt spend my money at this academy. By the way kohls had what I was looking to buy for cheaper.

I will shop at any other Academy there is except this one. Three times I went to purchase a shotgun and I was ignored all three times. Employees shouldnt profile their customers. Ended up taking my business to a locally owned gun store.
