Our second year renting at Pelican ski. The staff are extremely extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Ryan spent a solid 1 hour helping us with rentals today. He was very patient and courteous. Highly recommend!

People are very nice here. I was there on a busy day so there was definitely a bit of madness in the air. Staff seemed to manage it well and keep customers moving. I had a bunch of questions and they took the time to answer them and make sure i was confident before I left. I will definitely go here again. Thanks

I’ve been skiing for several years and decided to purchase my first pair of ski boots. I went to Pelican and Stew helped me out with my purchase - he provided excellent service! He steered me in the right direction on finding a boot that caters to my needs / experience. I walked out of the store knowing significantly more about ski equipment thanks to Stew and got a great deal on the boots!

They had everything I needed for the frog system for my pool. The gentleman who helped me was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of useful information.

Nice place, everyone is helpful and knowledgeable. I wish I had heard about them before I went to other pool places.

The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about ski clothing. I saved hundreds of dollars buying clearence. They also sell summer yard merchandise, i.e. hottubs

10/10 experience. Taylor and Patt were both so helpful. Taylor helped me find everything I needed (I tried on so many pants) and Patt was so helpful with tips on how to wear equipment. Their manager (i think) who was there Thursday night, 3/4 was also very nice. Regardless, everyone was so helpful, I will deff be back!

I have to start off by saying that there should be no other place but Pelican if you are pool shopping. Eric and the staff are incredible to say the least. They assisted me from start to finish and still to this day are always willing to answer any questions I have regarding maintenance. They go above and beyond and you will not find another store with better customer service. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would, I strongly urge anyone that is in the market for a pool or pool products to look no further than Pelican. They are spectacular.

Pricy for a 20 pound bucket of tablets 85.00 damm.

People work here are really nice. They helped me finding the best ski boots for my size. I have wide feet and thick calf they were very patient.

The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. If you need ski boot fitting, ask for Stu. He was able to size me up immediately and present me with options perfect for my style of riding (Skiboards with a Park focus). I was given a few different flex options and the last pair really felt like a great fit! The prices are reasonable too. I highly recommend this place!

Great place to get pool stuff

We were a customer of Pelican Pool for over twenty years both at their prior and current East Brunswick locations. A few weeks ago we bought two 5 gallons containers of chlorine. Today (4/7/20) we opened the second container and poured some chlorine into the swimming pool. In doing so, we noticed an unusual pungent odor emanating from the container. We took the product back to the store hoping to receive an exchange. At the store we were met with very strong refusal to even consider such a request. Actually, they just didn’t care! The responding employee, “David O’Connor” who claimed to be the owner said that it was not the store’s policy to refund or exchange chemicals. He mentioned that the policy was posted by the cashier’s station. In fact, a small placard was noticed stationed behind a display rack. Additionally, he mentioned that we may have contaminated the chlorine. They did not check the product. They did not care that it was added to our pool water. They did not care that their vendor may have given them contaminated product. “David O’Connor” said that he didn’t care if we seek any other corrective actions. So, they just dont care about their customers. We received our deposit for the container and no other compensation. We will NEVER shop with again!

Rented snowboards here four times already and it was pretty nice. The rentals get the job done. The service can be a little slow at times, but once they do help, theyre super nice and helpful. For first timers or beginners, Id recommend renting here. Could use some better discounts though, but thats just wishful thinking.

Where shall we... my son and I begin? Well... it all began with us wanting to get a new pool and replace the older one. We searched online and werent too pleased or comfortable with buying a pool online. So.. we went pool shopping store to store and to our surprise we came across Pelican. From the moment we stepped in, we had a feeling this would be the store for us. A salesman by the name of Eric greeted us and asked us what we were looking for. It was from that moment on that we developed a wonderful relationship with Pelican. Eric went above and beyond to help my son and I find the perfect pool for our home. He was informative, professional, patient and wonderfully easy going. If we had questions/concerns after the purchase of the pool he would immediately assist. Overall our entire experience with Pelican and Eric has been wonderful. BEYOND WONDERFUL! THANK YOU ERIC AND PELICAN FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP AND TIME. WE CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH.

Weve been going to Pelican since 2006, when we moved into our house and inherited an aboveground pool. This place has been hands down the best experience for products & supplies. We bought our replacement pool here, as well as a hot tub. There is never any sales pressure, & the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We referred family to buy their pool and supplies here and they love them too. Weve really gotten to know Eric over the years, & hes honestly one of our favorite people. Dave and Scott have been lifesavers for us too when weve had hot tub questions. Pelican has saved our sanity more than once, js... 😉

This place was awesome... Stopped by to get my board serviced and pick up some bindings.. I was helped by J and he was great and very knowledgeable! Great selection of gear and the prices were also great!

I want to thank Stu for being so helpful and friendly to troubleshoot my snowboard boots that I didn’t even purchased from pelican. He made sure that I was In the right fit. The shop also did a great job with tuning my snowboard. All the staff are really so kind and the shop has good deals. Recommended for winter sport needs.

Dealing with Eric G. of Pelican Pools made things so much easier when we upgraded our pool size. Hes so thorough and knowledgeable and is always willing to help. He made sure my mom had everything she needed for our pool to prep for winter and explained things in detail to my husband. Great selection of snowboards and snow gear. Except their boot selection leaves something to be desired. Knowledgable staff and an eagerness to help make it easy to overlook anything negative I could write. They even service what they sell and the workmanship is top notch.

I love these people! They have helped troubleshoot issues with my older pool and saved me time and money with repairs on our pool filter over and over. So patient, kind and helpful. Excellent customer service! Theyre my go to for our pool and hot tub needs.

DO NOT GO HERE!! These people are consI dropped my ski boots off last winter to get stretched. I was in the middle of moving so i told the guy my dad would pick up the boots the following week when they are done. Paid up front not a big deal but was charged $50 per boot.I see the boots on my next ski trip and NOTHING WAS DONE. They charged me $100 for absolutely nothing. Brought them to a reputable shop and they confirmed boots had never been modified/stretched. Dont waste your time with their insanely high prices. SCUM CONS that steal.

The staff is very attentive, patient, and understanding. I’m a beginning skier so I may not have the best technical advice, but my experience so far has been great. I’ll most likely continue to go here for my ski rental/purchase needs.

Seems like a nice store but they are seriously lacking in customer service. The sales guys for regular merchandise are nice but the rentals are lacking. I went in one day to get my board tuned and to get information about rentals for my niece and nephew. I spoke with a gentleman named Nolan. I wrote it all down so I wouldnt forget how much was needed and the procedure for pickup and drop-off. I said okay Ill be back thank you. I went back the following week and aparently all the information was different. Now Nolan was not in but a gentleman named Vince who was supposed to be a supervisor was there. He was of no help. I explained clearly to him what I was told and he just stared blankly and repeated what the policy was multiple times as if to insult my intelligence. Now although he knew who Nolan was he did not try to reach out to see if I was truly given that information or offer to accommodate me in anyway. He just kept repeating the same thing like a robot.This was most unfortunate because it was my niece and nephews first time going snowboarding and we had to rush to find equipment for them last minute. in the future I guess Ill just have to stick with going to ski Barn or the resort rental because pelican shop is untrustworthy in East Brunswick. As an additional point I called various other Pelican Shops such as the one in Morris plains and was given (by Alex) the same information that Nolan gave me. Unfortunately, they were too far and it was too last minute. Needless to say I will not be frequenting this establishment in the near future. Renter beware

My husband bought $300dlls skiies from here. It was a present. They also said they would adjust the bindings. Then, we came back to adjust the bindings and the guys didnt honor what they said before. Poor service. They just lost 6 costumers here.

I love this place! Staff is so helpful and friendly. They always offer help to carry stuff into the car. I come here all the time to get a free water test and other chemicals I need. The staff really knows what they are talking about. They have outdoor furniture, chemicals, and hot tubs. Only complaint I wish they would fix is the entrance to the back. One time some idiot came from the wrong way and almost hit me, hes lucky i stopped in time. There are no lines painted on the pavement, but there is a one way sign and I can understand that might be hard for some incompetent drivers to see. Other than that this place deserves 6 stars for the great service!

Bought a hot tub at this shop. Dave took his time to go over all the different models and was patient with my newbie questions. Delivery was outstanding and flawless. Highly recommend this shop.

Stopped in to get a quick edge for my sons skis. They told me they would only do a full tune up for $40 and it would be an additional $10 for a rush job. Gimme a break!

Scott went out of his way to ensure that I got the snowboard, boots and bindings that were perfect for my riding style, budget and goals. Scott is both very knowledgeable and passionate about snowboarding, which is the combination you want when looking to purchase new gear, especially if you are like me and had stepped away from the sport for several years.

Decent place to find pool supplies, toys and patio furniture as well as spa supplies. In winter, they have a good stock of ski and snowboard apparel and equipment. Prices are average. Have not had much luck with their kids ski rentals. Ended up with old equipment and had multiple problems with it.

Well I thought this shop was great. Until today... My boyfriend bought me these great MIG Anon goggles as a gift a month ago. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I work 50+ hours a week and only had my first opportunity to go snowboarding last week I only just got to use them. Well, when I opened them I realized the face mask that is supposed to come with these goggles was not included so we called them today. They told me there is nothing they can do for me or even try to do for me. These goggles were almost $200 and now due to the incompetency of an employee I have to go pay another $60 for a facemask that I was super excited to have? No thank you. Im so upset.

The first boots they gave me for me rental ended up cutting me but they were extremely understanding and I got almost a brand new rental pair as a replacement.

Good selection but very overpriced. I went there to buy a pump for my hot tub they said they would have to order it and it would take 2 weeks to come in the cost would be over $500. I purchased one online for $215 and received it in a week.

Sales help was knowledgeable. There was no pressure to buy. Selection was large even though the season was ending.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We rented here for 10+ years, since our older son started skiing as a child. Since then he moved on to snowboarding and now little ones do season rentals here. After expressing some concerns earlier regarding availability of four-buckle boots for little kids, we had discovered to a very pleasant surprise that now Pelican has those as well, which makes it unique and fairly advanced ski store for East Coast. Skis here are very good, with latest models available for rentals as well. With winters becoming colder and and more snowy due to global cooling, skiing is becoming one of main winter activity for kids and adults on the East Coast. We got our Ikon season passes (which we highly recommend now after Ikon has been expanded to ski resort of Zermatt Switzerland) and ready to plan extended 2019/2020 family ski season.

Bought about $500.00 and a pair of ski socks for my son were one size too small. Went back there couple of days later to exchange for one size up, and they said that they couldnt change them because the had been taken out of the carton wrap. The socks were never worn/used. I even talked to the manager but it was just a waste of time.

Eric G. was an awesome sales person. He was so helpful and accommodating. We purchased the Aquasport52 and he had full knowledge of the pool. Eric also went out of the way to talk to the town inspectors, which he by no way had to do this. To this day I can still call up Eric at the store and ask him questions. Theyll tell you one thing over the phone and then change the price when youre there. Wanted to get my board tuned up. Told me it was $39 for the work, and $10 for the rush job. Got there, and they told me it was $20 for the rush job. Oh well - Ill just get it done at the mountain for $20 all in.

Love the store, I always rent skis.

Dropped my snowboard off for a tune up figuring they would provide better service then sports authority. I brought up a concern about a loose binding and asked if they could put some locktite on it and tighten it up.Brought up the issue again when picking up my board and they asked the tech but apparently they couldnt tighten it and they do not have locktite.The wax and sharpen was done well.

Used to be a great place for anything pool and outdoors, seasonal. Mainly pool supplies now.

Pretty disappointed that the sales staff talked their way out of us buying a pool. Salesman was poorly educated in the products that they were selling. He was unable to tell us the differences between their products.

The only reason theyre getting 4 stars and not 3 is their manager. We rented ski gear the night before the artic blast and didnt end up taking our toddler. Initially the guy we called refused to issue a refund or rain check for the next day but once we came back after skiing and spoke to the manager he issued us a rain check for it. My ski bindings were off by 1/2 inch, which I realized halfway down a blue trail when I crossed into a nasty fall. The guys on shawnee adjusted my ski binding, but for the misalignment the manager issued me a gift certificate for another day of rental, which was nice of him. On the whole their equipment is a little run down, and they dont have as much variety as great outdoor which is in marlboro, but if you are in the area give them a try.

The rental department customer service is horrible here. I rented ski equipment for my daughter. Never again.
