Simply the Best. I live in South Windsor and I drive to East Hampton to visit the lucky goat several times a month and sorry to say that they are closing the doors the end of August. Good luck and thank you for all your quality delicious food.

Im here at LEAST once a week. The meat quality cant be beat. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. You wont be disappointed with whatever you get there!

The Lucky-G is where I go for the good stuff, hands down. I found the Lucky Goat while searching for real steaks a few years ago. I didn’t want the Supermarket BS. So a quick google search had me heading to East Hampton and well, the rest is history. They also have a great supply of homemade gourmet dog treats! Also, the service is super friendly. Enjoy!

I love trying out new places while riding the bike or on the road. I looked for an Italian deli in the area and this popped up with a 4.5. Seems like a local gem for most people with quality packaged meats and other accoutrements. I was hungry and wanted a grilled chicken, roasted red, fresh mozz and balsamic glaze wedge. Pretty standard deli order. The sandwich was $9.99 and wedge $13.99. Not wanting to take a huge risk I went with the sandwich. Limited chicken at best and dry. Roasted red fine but no fresh mozz and no glaze but dressing. Mediocre at best and not really worth the $9.99. I’m sure there are plenty more options here and much more variety but just a bit disappointed that there wasn’t better chicken. It’s really hard to mess that up.

Very accommodating. Always nice. Food is awesome. Reasonably priced. I drive 45 min to pick up my order.

Great meat at fair prices. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Its great having a local butcher that carries excellent quality brisket and pork butt. Not to mention that the NY strip steaks they carry have never let me down and can be counted amongst the best Ive ever had. Hoping this place is around for a very long time.

Matt helped me pick out all the foods for my sons birthday party, and even gave me tickets to the Durham Fair to bring the family to celebrate my 6 year old sons birthday. Genuine, awesome people there. Glad to have a business like this one town over from me.

Best meat in miles. Prices reflect quality; I have never been disappointed. I do agree with other reviews that some of the help isnt customer friendly but hopefully they will learn with time.

My wife and I buy pretty much everything at The Lucky Goat that they sell, in preference to the usual supermarket fare. It is a bit more money, but the quality is *so* much higher… its just no contest.Try some of their heat-and-serve meals. Their meats (butcher and deli) are sensational. Also try their in-house smoked fish and BBQ. Oh, and the home-made bacon-and-potato salad.You get the idea.We cant believe we in East Hampton lucked out with this specialty butcher shop. If you are not from here, believe me when I say it is worth the drive.

The Lucky Goat has fabulous foods! My entire family and all my friends love everything they offer. They have specials all the time and add new items often so you never get tired of their menu. Just bought Fresh Shimp Cocktail and all our meats (wings) for our Superbowl party! Cant wait to eat it all tomorrow, Yummy!

Great service! Amanda is awesome! I have celiac and she always makes sure she prepares my sandwiches on a gluten free surface, new gloves, & clean knife. She takes all the preparations so I wont get sick. Great food and great people!

Minimal amount of meat on the grinder? Did someone really write that? Nonsense. The Lucky Goat packs more ingredients into a sandwich than was previously thought possible by mankind Top notch quality, amazing sandwiches, and great premade foods. Five stars is not enough.

Highest of Quality products, Fast and friendly service...always...Meats are exceptional, Soups and Chowders are the BEST Ive ever had, this is just the place we were looking for and now its right here in our community. If you havent been here yet you are missing out, after one visit I became an instant regular. Dont let the Butcher shop aspect deceive you, this place is a refreshing stop for any meats, cheeses and veggies. It feels like a modernized old school country general store. They serve breakfast sandwiches in the morning and all day you can pick up a fresh made to order sandwich or pick up a hot cup of coffee. It may not be as cheap as a big brand store but it is hands down higher quality. You get what you pay for here.

The food may be good but their driver nearly forced my wife off the road on I-95 in New Haven today. She was traveling at 54 mph in the middle lane, signaling to exit right at exit 3. The Lucky Goat driver, about 30-35 in age, attached himself to her rear bumper. Apparently moving into the available left hand, passing lane would have required far too much energy for said driver. Better to risk the life of a mother of 3. I hope your ambition is ultimately matched by your consideration for your fellow man.

Great cuts of meat and pork and the marinated chicken is fantastic!

Went in for deli sandwiches. Disappointing experience as a whole. Some staff was unorganized and in general the quality of the sandwiches were subpar. This was the agreement between the 6 people in my group. Skip this spot and drive a little further to Salem prime cuts or Nadellis to get a larger, better quality sandwich.

This is best apple pie I ever tasted. The crust is so light and fluffy. The apples divine. Great pie.

Its a decent little place, but the prices are outrageous, the bread on the sandwiches isnt fresh, and the ingredients while tasty arent anything special at the price point. Friendly staff and nice location earns the 3rd star.

They have great product, some of there prices are up there but with meat and other food products you get what you pay for, their sandwiches are great!

This is a great specialty meat shop. They cater to thier customers requests and the quality is very good. They offer smoked brisket, bacon and kielbasa. My husband loves thier egg sandwiches with smoked bacon.

Always have had good service, friendly and helpful. Best meat and sandwiches in the area. Also have great chile.

I went in days ahead of Christmas to discuss about getting a lamb roast. The butcher I spoke with showed me a shoulder roast of lamb with just a few rib bones; after I called in and specifically ordered SHOULDER LAMB ROAST, but what I picked up the day before Christmas is a LEG roast with a huge femur bone in it - which will completely change my cooking plans & Ill prbly have to cut the femur out myself & Ill go down from 3 lbs to 2.5. I also asked for thinly cut fatty meat for hot pot but after being asked what I wanted by 4 ppl and telling each - a rude, brusk older man that someone was already helping me, he said NO, Im the one helping you, IM the one cutting your meat. Well he was wrong b/c we ended up with 2 sets of meat & the brusk guys meat was not fatty at all but lean. Both sets were not as thin as I had asked.

Awesome products, aged beef, fine selection of specialty cheeses, seafood and all is fresh. We will be back many times.

I am editing this review from 5 to 3 stars because since I have been going there I had been loving it. But after a couple years its become just ok and not as fabulous as it used to be.
