Went for a driver fitting and the guys were incredibly helpful. Dustin, in particular. He was very patient as I had a list of clubs I wanted to try and even needed a bit of a break as I hit about 80 shots with all different drivers. He was very informative and supportive about finding the right club for my game.Unfortunately they did not have the club I ended up wanting in stock (Ping G425 Max) but I will be ordering it online.Thank you!
Been playing golf for and had gone through 2 sets of irons without ever getting fitted. I went to the PGA Superstore on rt 10 just before this season began and got some incredible assistance and advice from one of their staff members, Rich B. Rich had a wealth of knowledge that he used to fit me for my irons. After some trial and error we decided on a set of Srixons! I’ve played enough rounds that I can honestly say I made a great decision with these clubs and couldn’t have done it without Rich. So thanks!
I purchased the Cobra Forged Tec Irons (Copper finish) in March ‘21. Within weeks the finish was coming off the Clubs. Neither PGA nor I got anywhere with Cobra in terms of getting a refund. Although it took some time, ultimately PGA Superstore did the right thing and stood behind the Products sold even though Cobra was very arrogant about the entire episode. Rob Sharkey called me on his day off and yesterday informed me PGA Superstore would replace my Clubs . I really appreciate that the employee cared enough to call on his day off and that PGA Superstore did the right thing (even though Cobra was very arrogantly dismissive
Had an iron fitting with James Chung. excellent experience. He proved to be knowledgable and even offered me extra tips to help me with my miss hits. He put me in a set of clubs I can be confident with. Would recommend.
Big store and inventory. Lots of pre-owned clubs as well.Staff are excellent at the service counter. Have had several clubs re-gripped, trimmed, and fixed there and its always top notch quality and turnaround times. Grips have been handled on the spot and even one time I had a driver adapter that came loose, and they fixed it same day. Life saver as I had a golf trip coming up the next day!
I had a fitting with Rich. What I appreciated most was how In depth he was able to take the fitting. I went to buy a new set of irons and ended up choosing between the new srixons and Mizunos. We tried nearly every shaft in the house. More importantly, Rich was very prescriptive in his approach which I appreciated. The guy before me had almost identical swing speed to me and ended up in a lighter weight stiff flex shaft. Rich noticed my tempo was more aggressive so we tried some x-stiff shafts to see how they suit me and I instantly struck the ball better and my dispersion came down a bunch. On top of that I didn’t lose any distance. Point is, he has the ability to see the differences in players and actually fit them properly and without bias. I’ve spent a lot of money for a fitting at club champion that wasn’t nearly as good as my fitting at the PGA superstore.
The store is unbelievable, but the people make it. They are always extremely welcoming. The customer service is unbelievable compared to the other golf stores in the area. Whether you need clubs, accessories, or apparel they not only have everything but their staff are extremely knowledgeable. Tom, Rob and Lisa are always fantastic as is everyone else in the store. Come practice, get fitted for new clubs, or have your old gear refreshed they do it all well!
Customer Service is TERRIBLE! If you are not a regular and spend money at the store constantly - no one cares about you. You better just know what you want so you can grab, pay and get out. OR look for a customer they are calling by their first name - because he/she is their priority and ask them to get you a friendlier staff member to help. If they don’t have the item you are looking for - don’t bother asking someone to help you and see if it’s available online… “because it’s just not available - sorry.”My husband recently visited the store to “surprise” me with a gift and he basically got zero help with a team member attitude to match. I never told him about my experience but when he told me what just happened to him …. I HAD to finally write a review. Not everyone shopping is a pro….and frankly, those that need help the most are easy to spot.
I Was in the other day looking for a putter and 4hybrid. Called to see if they had a cobra hybrid. Spoke to a gentlemen by the name Kyle or Tyler who told me he’d put the club on hold since it was the last one. I was driving over an hour for the club. Got their and he had my hybrid but didn’t have the putter but called the Paramus store to see if they had it which they did and told them put the putter on hold for me. The customer service is everything you’d want to have. The staff will bend over backwards for their customers. Great experience will definitely be back!
What seems to be a common theme on the reviews, customer service is awful!! I was 1 of maybe a dozen people in the store. In fact there were more employees in the store than customers. I was there to purchase a set of clubs and their refusal to even acknowledge I was there prompted me to leave and purchase a set online. Even though they are a big box store I wanted to support a local business. I will never set foot in a PGA Superstore ever again.
Had my first ever custom fitting for a driver the other day with James Chung. What a great experience! James is incredibly knowledgeable and a very friendly guy. Made me feel very comfortable even though I was a little nervous. We went through a whole bunch of shaft and head options, he was very conscious about my budget which was nice. Never pushed me to spend more than I wanted. I will definitely go back to see James again to get fitted for more clubs. They even managed to regrip my irons during my driver fitting which saved me another trip back there!Everyone at the store is very helpful and nice, the store is clean, I always enjoy going there.
Today I went to PGA Superstore in search for a pair of golf shoes which fit me best and wouldn’t untie and come loose on my feet halfway through my round or walking up a hill or what have you.. Mind you, I have intricate sizing for shoes due to foot shape, width, and length. I was browsing the shelves for a solid half hour when I decided to ask for some assistance and I met Mark Kelly, a supervisor in store, and he gave me some of the best customer service I’ve experienced anywhere. Was extremely knowledgable about all different brands of shoes, fits of shoes etc. He took me through about 6 different models of shoes and I explained why certain pairs didn’t work/didn’t feel right for me and not only did he take that information in, he used it well to find options for me and my personal situation. He was incredibly nice, understanding, honest, and very well informed; even offered me the opportunity to hit some balls in the practice center with different pairs of shoes to see what they felt like throughout the golf swing and it ended up being that I picked up a new pair of New Balance Stryker 2.0’s which were optimal for me and felt the best. Now it’s time to test them out on the course. Mark, a thousand thank you’s for helping me so much, a true gentleman, hard to find many places. Keep up the good work, sir!
I recently purchased a new Callaway pro max Driver, after a day or two at the range I realized I was uncomfortable with the stiffness for the shaftMuch to my surprise I was able to return the shaft and head fir a brand new club with the desires stiffness .. no problem, no issue no questions...great experience ...I even got a decent credit for my old Cobra....very pleased.SAK
Worked with Richard on an iron fitting. Was very helpful and answered all my questions. Will go back and do other fittings soon!
Grips placed on while I waited, customer service at its best.
Mark Kelly and Zach from the East Hanover store helped me demo tennis rackets and were extremely patient, knowledgeable and great to deal with. Mark and Zach provided excellent customer service and I appreciated both of their help. They are both great assets to this store.
Had a fantastic experience working with James. He took the time to work with me to find new clubs in the fitting studio. Super knowledgable of course, but he also took the time to understand what I needed and recommend clubs that fit my skillset (and budget!!). Thanks James!!!
Went for an iron fitting with James Chung. Found him to be arrogant and condenseding.Paid my hundred bucks and definitely will not be back
Seems to have everything for golf and tennis. Seems expensive but staff was knowledgeable and helpful.
I visited the store to test a few clubs out and some putters. Although I didn’t need any help I was in there for over an hour and literally not one employee said a word to me the entire time. And the store was pretty dead. Great customer service you got there.
If you have a mens shoe size larger than 9, look else wear. If you are looking for clubs that are not run of the mill (raw) look else were. If you do not look like you are wealthye, look else were for any type of help or customer service (even when only customer there). In general, look else were...
Came here to help somebody pick out women’s clubs, and ended up leaving with way too many cloths. Their selection is great and the staff is very friendly. They have a few driving ranges in the back which seem pretty nice, and the putting green to try out clubs is much better than other stores.
Most large corporations struggle to provide the personal service demanded by the golf community. However, Rob Sharkey and his staff at the Hanover, NJ store continue to impress. A very special shout out to Tom Tomkins and Dan Bowles in the repair shop. Stunningly good service! Thx fellas!
I went in just to look but after meeting Mark Kelly I ended up buying the Taylormade P790 irons. Even though it was extremely busy with Mark helping multiple customers somehow Mark still made me feel special by giving me all the attention I needed. He patiently fit me with different blades, different manufacturers until we decided that the P790’s were the irons for me. His customer service was the best I’ve gotten in a long time from anywhere. I’ll be back to check out some wedges next and if course buy some shoes and new apparel since anyone that knows me knows I have to look good at least when I play. Thanks again Mark for all the help and assistance you provided me. I hope the PGA Superstore appreciates the hard work and great customer service you give their customers!
I went to the store to purchase one club. They did not have it in stock and said they could order it. After paying for the club AND shipping to their store, they said it would take 4 weeks. A few minutes later, I went back to cancel my order. They said the manager had to review it and would not refund my CASH until the cancelation was reviewed. What is the point of going to a store, when I can buy it on line, get it in 2 days with free shipping????
I stopped by at this store today as Im in the market for a set of irons. Very organized store and everyone seems to be helpful and professional. I was immediately allowed to test irons of my choice and ended up purchasing one set. Store has a good selection of golfing equipment. Would highly recommend a visit. I travelled 30 miles to visit this store even though I am closure to the Paramus location.
I give this place 5 stars to people are very friendly their very knowledgeable and a very helpful when it comes to golf
Mark Kelly recommended changing the size of my grips and fit me for a new Cleveland putter. Mark took the time to help me find the perfect putter for game. I had an awesome experience. Thanks to Marks help and expert advice my swing is more consistent and my putting accuracy has greatly improved. Ill definitely be coming back to see Mark when I need to upgrade my equipment again!!
Staff are very service oriented. Helpful and professional.
I would not spend a dime in any pga superstore. It sickens me to my stomach how this organization runs ads on tv and it is clear minorities are third class citizens. Is this organization afraid to cast a black or hispanic family in their commercials? Some things will never change!
Terrible spot. Called ahead to see if they had a putter I was interested in. They said yes. Wanted to know if they could fit me. They said yes. Drove 45 min, waited 30 once I got there to be told they didnt have that putter actually, they had a demo. So I said ok ill get fit and order one. They said their systems were down and couldnt do the fitting. Typical boomer jerkoff golf store with arrogance off the charts. They will NEVER see me again. And I play about 50-60 rounds a year, will make sure everyone knows the level of service you get. Golf galaxy and golf tec are right down the road.
This store is a Golfer paradise. The store is very clean and organized. I went to get new clubs and they spent time with me to understand the equipment and made great recommendations. They are honest too. I was looking at a more expensive set and after working with me they actually recommended something cheaper. They also have a selection of pre owned equipment.
Great job. great guys
Was my first visit there today, store is gorgeous, has everything you could ever want or need pertaining to golf. Manager on scene was super helpful and gave me some extra time on the simulator because I forgot to export my data. Will be back many many times! (Have a few big purchases coming up and I will be going to pga store for them solely based on the fantastic customer service)
The staff was excellent, including Tom who helped me with fitting for new clubs.
Just opened this past weekend. Still has growing pains. Signed up for a practice bay membership. Was instructed to call to schedule a time. Was put on hold for over 15minutes. 15minutes on hold to schedule something that really should be done online. Waiting to update this review once I spend more time there. If I can schedule a bay session.2/12/2020: UPDATE: Finally got a slot in the practice bays after calling the store 2x again. Matt was very helpful and apologetic. It’s growing pains.2/13/2020: UPDATE: Got in to use a practice bay. Easy process once in the store. Just stop by the desk to have your clubs checked. No bags allowed in store. And then head back to a bay. Dave, the GM, was very helpful with explaining the behind-the-scenes process. Also found out you can register for bay times online. Awesome! Great experience so far.
Bad serviceI bought a tennis racket and they promised to deliver in a week, it takes 2 weeks
Ordered a new club online, the website said it was in stock. I wanted the club quickly so I paid for two day shipping. I had to call two days later since the order was still processing, was told the item was actually out of stock and my order was being cancelled.
Alice knows what’s up. Will be back
Employees here are very knowledgable in golf and even tennis. They have the latest racquets, shoes, strings and accessories- so no need to make a separate trip to a tennis store. Just got 2 racquets restrung and they were ready faster than promised.
Me and my friend Tom came in today to get fitted for Drivers. Rich was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. I will definitely return for his help!
Has everything thing you could want in a golf store. Overpriced
Clean and spacious kind of picked over for left handers now but it is the end of the season
I’m in the store right now and have been here for 15min, not one associate has come to me to help me. I even went up to the register and still not being helped!! Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Go to Golf Galaxy!!!!
Update from original:I have been back to this location multiple times for various items and have had no issues. The staff, as they are/were, is always very helpful. Would highly recommend going there over other places in the area. Looking forward to my next couple visits soon to upgrade more equipment through them and updating to 5 stars.Mostly bad, some good, overall very disappointing. First off, it took me at least 45 minutes to place an order for a new set of irons; kind of understanding as this was opening day and the place was mobbed. Also, there was an issue with my credit card denying charges due to potential fraud which caused some confusion. I explained to the folks the issue and they said my order was submitted. Within 3-4 days I couldnt find an order status and noticed the charge was no longer pending on my card. I go into the store and one of the managers, I believe his name was Rob, was very very nice, however, he could not tell me what happened to my order and there was no paperwork that he could track down. Instead of re-submitting the order he said he would try to track it down and get back to me within a couple of days. This all took about another 45-60 minutes. 20-30 minutes after I left, I got a missed call and voicemail from Rob stating they were in posession of the specific clubs I wanted; not the ones I ordered, but the ones I wanted. This means I could have walked out of the store the first day with them, or at the very least, when I was there 30 minutes earlier. I called back to tell him that I would like them and was left on hold for 15 minutes; I didnt wait on hold any longer and decided to go back to the store tomorrow. I had already wasted 2 hours between the last 2 saturdays trying to place an order. I went back the next day, Rob was there, and I was able to leave with my clubs. I just received a notification on my card that there was a charge for the clubs, which looks like the original order. This is absurd... I want to clearly state, the management and team at this location are very nice, seem knowledgeable, and overall very good, hence, why I am not leaving a 0-1 star review. PGA East Hanover needs to do better or bug corporate about giving them a better process and/or more support.
The only problem with this place is it’s impossible to walk in there without buying anything. If you can think of it, they likely have it.
Good staff, kuddos to Lisa for your helping..
EAVERYONE WAS VERY NICE AND VERY HELPFUL
Love this place. Kid in a candy store.
I live about an hour away from this PGA superstore. We have no major golf retailer near me. I am a former serious golfer and have a competitive junior golfer son. I stopped at this store weeks before it was actually open not realizing the grand opening was a few weeks away. I met an assitant manager there named Patrick Reilly that day. We were in the market for a new junior set and all kinds of other accessories regular golfers would need. To say we got good customer serivce from Mr Reilly would be a massive understatement. He gave me his card, sent pictures of the clubs we were interested in (because I had a cosmetic question) via email. We finally got the chance today to go to the store and demo the clubs and shop around because I had a family trip on a Royal Caribbean cruise that returned yestereday. The incredible Disney-like service I got on that cruise extened to my experince at the PGA superstore. Mr Reilly gave us a ton of direct attention. He made the experience fun for my son who was nervous and anxious. He helped us try the clubs we wanted. He also encouraged me to try some clubs (I had no intention to, but did). He also got a club fitter named Parker Mann to give me some feedback on my son and whether we needed anything custom for his swing and needs. Again, I got great serivce from Mr Mann. I have personally worked in golf in many different capacities in the past, including managing a retail store. I am not sure who is in charge at this store but you guys have done a senational job with the team you have in place. Thank you, I look forward to shopping more.
Though they can be understaffed at times, the staff will always be as helpful as they can and are very considerate of the consumer. Pat was a pleasure to deal with and helped me get started finding clubs.
Practice bays are very good
Grand opening!! The prizes were real... the wait was worth it!!
This place isnt open yet. Still under construction?
