If you are looking for Spartan gear, this is the place. Great selection of both adult and youth stuff. Staff was friendly and helpful. Admittedly went just before the students return and on a weekend. It was tranquil. Not sure that will continue. Excellent shopping experience.

A great place to buy your books for school! Not just that though, this place is a good time to just walk around and explore products that will help show off some school swag. They usually have really friendly people working as well. Buy your books here. I would highly recommend to anyone.

The store had improved greatly over recent years. It is clean and usually has helpful staff. The only reason this isnt a perfect review is price. Buying books here is convenient, but you should expect to pay more for it.

I was here 5 days ago and this place had some nice stuff other than the fact you can’t get any HELP! I needed an item from the back and one of the employees were just on their phone as I was trying to get hers attention. When I was given a fitting room the employee at the register told me to wait and no one can help me because it’s too busy. Most respectfully will not be coming backThey also have a food store that’s pretty good!

If youre a Michigan State Fan then this is a must visit while on campus. Good sized store with shirts, hats, sweatshirts, and about anything else you can think of in green, white and Sparty.

I saw another review say the same thing... you cannot get any help here whatsoever. I came in on a Saturday to return an online purchase and was told there was no employee present who knew how to return an online order. They told me to come back on Monday, so I did and was sent to the online order counter to return it. Another customer and I waited for 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter, even after ringing the bell repeatedly to get help. Finally, the other customer walked to another counter for help and someone came over. When I was finally being helped, the employee took my bag of items to return from me and brought it to the back room. I waited for another 20 minutes for her to return only two items. It was a frustrating experience and makes me rethink shopping here in the future.

Love my Spartans but prices are forcing me to seek out cheaper alternatives to display my Spartan pride.

Not many womens clothes and it would be nice if there was a student discount. They do offer military discount though! I believe its 20%

Good place to grab essentials while on campus, but books prices are often higher here than elsewhere. A lot of shelves are also missing prices on items or merchandised in the wrong place.

Some of the staff (usually students) stand around while looking at their phones. You literally have to say something to them to get them to look up, even if youre standing right in front of them.Make sure that they charge you what the price tag or sale price is supposed to be. They are notorious for over charging. NO ONE (including the manager) does not know the Michigan law regarding compensation for an item not scanning the correct price.Youre better off going to The Student Bookstore (on Grand River across from MSU) or Campus Den in the mall. Their prices are much lower.

Great for students, even better on game days! Excellent apparel choices. More choices and variety than many other stores In the area. And they have a second location of the MSU Dairy Store.

I bought a textbook for my EC201 class at Spartan Bookstore and was extremely dissatisfied with the customer service I received and wish I never wouldve shopped there. They charged me over $40 more than the Student Book Store for the same book. When my roommate told me the price she got, I took in her receipt for the price adjustment. Written ON THE WALL behind the register it says, Find a better price online or locally and well beat it by 10%! DONT BE FOOLED. I bought my book without checking around because of the so called price guarantee and the cashier even assured me I could bring it back for refund if I found a better price.When I came back, I was turned away and the cashier told me the receipt did not provide enough information to allow for an adjustment and the other book must be present. So, I made the hike a second time, this time with both textbooks on my back, to be turned away again! The manager did not look at my books or receipts, only told me that I must present the better price ON THE DAY OF PURCHASE. I explained to her my confusion and what the cashier told me upon my previous visits, but still nothing was done. This store deceives students and I was told completely false information from staff TWICE about the policy.NEVER again will I shop at Spartan Bookstore for textbooks or anything else. Their price guarantee is a total joke and they robbed this already broke student of $50. Dont let the same thing happen to you.

They have lots of books and supplies youll need but if you need to sell books, do it yourself! A $30 book I bought from them was only worth $1.25 when I went to sell it. Other than that its a great store

Well organized store but MSU Logo-printted items are expensive

I had a great experience with them after I screwed up a return order. They showed genuine concern to resolve the issue, even though I was the one who made the mistake. Im a Spartan alumni so Ill pretty much always love the product, but the customer service at this store is top notch.

Not to be confused as just a bookstore, its a decent clothing, accessories & school supplies store. Everything here is highly endorsed with Sparty, the mascot of Michigan State University. For the same reason, its also more expensive than other such stores.

The manager had an altercation with a rude and loud customer and handled it very well. I appreciate people like her who provide great customer service to not so great customers.

Decent textbook selection, prices are competitive with SBS. Online inventory should be updated more often; I would recommend calling to see if they have a selection in stock before walking or driving over.

Basically a spartan apparel store with various knickknacks and some books in the back. If youre coming here the first week of classes, be prepared for overcrowding, and dont expect the textbooks to be well stocked. Friendly staff as well

Horribly long lines here, dont seem too knowledgeable about various courses and requirements. Also dont understand staffing as there is at most 2 registers open, even if the line stretches around literally the entire store. Horribly rude staff and incredibly high prices that can easily be beaten almost anywhere.

Its a little small for the main bookstore of a college of this size. The staff member I purchased a water bottle from was kind of rude and disrespectful. But otherwise its a standard university bookstore.

We arrived without a list of classes and the staff member looked every class up for us and helped us find the books we needed!

You won’t find all the books you want but it’s good.
