Fantastic selection of vinyl!! Love how they still have the archway made of 45s at the entrance. Its great to see this place not only survive the decades but actually get better.
Our son has been here multiple times during his school years. He wanted to bring us this this last visit to campus. They have a wide variety of musical genres. I even picked up some old records for myself. Fun store if you are into music and have a record player. Inexpensive.
Last time I was at FBC was 1998. Great selection. So happy to visit again and get a few records for our new turntable.
Flat, Black, & Circular NEVER disappoints! It was National Record Store Day; masks were off and distancing was forgotten -- it was a newfound sense of freedom, liberty, and privilege. I was able to take me time, leisurely checking out the offings and walked out two hours later with both choice DVDs and CDs under my arm for a nominal fee. John & Dave are extraordinarily gifted at what they do: from comments on artists/discs to navigating the worldwide web to track down a fresh copy of one of my old favorites, they always come through with the best buy! Great store in a tucked away location. Lots of great selections and genres of music to dig through, fair prices.
I love that this place is still around, and I can always find something I want.
This shop has a great selection of vinyl from local artists and from big time artists as well. They also have a selection of cassette tapes and equipment that plays cassettes and vinyl records. They buy and sell used and some new items also.It would seem thay they could benefit buy also selling t-shirts, stickers and patches, etc. But im not being super critical of the place, it just seems that it would be more profitable and entertaining than having too many items that dont seem to sell well such as old cds... But hey thats just my opinion.I would recommend that anyone in east lansing to go to FBC and buy a vinyl record of some kind.
Super awesome record store. Lots of options. Will definitely be going there again.
Really Cool place to buy music
Great place to spend an afternoon looking and remembering a time if great love and peace. Not to mention the vast amount of vinyl to choose from at great prices. My first time wont be my last.
Great place to shop for Metal. The staff is also nice and very helpful.
Great finds all through the store. Recently brought home some Brubeck, some Flatt & Scruggs, some Sly & the Family Stone.
I always find great finds. I collect vinyl, tapes, and cds. Especially if you are into non typical genres there is a decent variety. Definitely some hard to obtain things I have walked put if there with. Its usually not over crowded and I like and trust the staff. I highly recommend if you like shopping for music and movies.
Probably my favorite record store ever. Something for everyone.
Great selection of vinyl. I always find something 🤘
Huge selection of music. Fair pricing
Great selection of music, a little bit of everything. Brought in vinyl to sell and what they didnt want I was able to add to their free section. Which was nice because I grabbed a few from their free section as well. Also bought some surround sound speakers that were older but barely used, they were honest and up front about past owner, which had a good history. Have a great return policy and Im super satisfied about my speakers to listen to my vinyl on. Will definitely be stopping in often to see the new stuff
I am broke because this haven exists
I love my FBC.
Nice staff, nice store
Great place to find that rare gem.
Love this place. Have been coming here since 80’s. If you are planing a trip don’t plan on them being open on time. I alway seem to go when they open and end up having to wait 20 to 30 minutes for some one to get there. They also are not people persons. But if you like vinyl or music in general you won’t be disappointed.
Its been a very long time but I love this store.& u must visit soon
Easily one of the best record stores in lansing if not in all of michigan, the selection and service are unmatched
Right across from the MSU campus. Easy parking, and great place to buy records.
I was just passing through Lansing and stopped to browse because of the other positive reviews. Very good selection and variety, and well organized. I easily found a couple classic rock albums I havent been able to find at other record shops. The price vs quality was good enough for them that I didnt think twice. They also have the largest metal selection that Ive seen -- of course, all the stores Ive been to just mix the metal in with everything else.
A great place to find diamond in the rough artists and groups, as well as finding gems in the bargain bin. The staff is always eager and willing to help you look for anything or get it ordered. Personally, I dont buy vinyls, but everyone I know who does, comes here; and I bet for great reasons! Support your local music scene and support your local music store. This is one of the best!
Such an awesome record/CD store!
This is a record shop for those of us that play vinyl instead of hoarding. Nice selection of new, repressed 180g music and all used genres. Pricing is fair. Condition grading has been accurate. Air is always free.
Great place to browse/ huge selection
Really solid selection, staff was knowledgeable and gave assistance when asked.
Hi! I’m turning 14 very soon and hopefully getting a record player for Christmas! (My birthday is a little bit after Christmas) I found this place online, and me and my Aunt & Uncle loveeeee records, and I cannot wait to bring them in here! Hopefully it goes well! ☺️
Wonderful place great atmosphere the owner is a very nice man best prices around no one topsFlat Black & Circular..
Very unique shopping experience!
I try to visit at least every other week. They are always bringing in new/used stuff and the prices are great. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable, and they have plenty of records and CDs (even a decent amount of DVDs) for you to browse through. If you love music and are in the area, you should stop in and look around.
Amazing selection of records and other mediums of music. Love this place!
I hadnt been here in years. Just bought a new turntable so Ive been visiting vinyl record stores to beef up my collection. I was very disappointed in the lack of help from the employees working. There was only two other people shopping. I wasnt greeted, and wasnt asked if I needed any help. I highly value customer service, theres none here. I much prefer the other vinyl record store in Lansing. Theyre located in REO Town, go there instead. I likely wont be back here anytime soon.
Very cool store. Lots of vinyl records. Cool music items. Felt like a teen again.
Impressive record store. Wide variety of genres and generations. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Also has some vintage audio equipment for sale.
This place was great! I was passing through East Lansing and thought Id stop by. They have a huge selection of vinyl, both old and new, and the prices were excellent! The guys running it are very helpful and knowledgeable. I will certainly make this a regular stop of mine for purchasing records!
Ive been coming here for (oh man) 20 years now and it hasnt changed a bit. Great selection, very fair prices and theyre always playing something interesting (if not always to your taste). My favorite place in EL to go and not be bothered by anybody for as long as I want.Oh, its upstairs. Just follow your nose.
Great owners. Took the time to find a couple specific albums I was looking for. If youre looking for a vast variety of vinyl, FBC is the first place you should visit.
This place has been a staple for my EL trips for decades now. They always have the latest vinyl and cds with usually fair prices, sometimes they are high, sometimes low but never way off the mark. The best part is the staff will ALWAYS help you get what youre looking for. Theyll go through other vendors, private sellers, anything to help you find that rare disc.
Best music shop Ive been too. They can get you what you want, and if they cant, you will know they tried. And they dont try to stiff you on the order.
Went to find Christmas gifts and was impressed by the selection which included classics and current artists
Ive been going to FBC for over 20 years and they are still hands down the best record store Ive been and Ive been to tons! Great selection and fair prices. They have something for everyones budget.
East Lansing gem. A must see for any and all music lovers if in the area. Awesome music, great atmosphere and the staff is super cool, friendly and knowledgable.
Huge selection of CDs and vinyl. This place is first and foremost a record store. Every genre is packed somewhere in there.
Good place for CD or Record collecting
Everytime I visit I find something interesting.
Great selection of new and used records, CDs and DVDs. The staff is always helpful and nice. Definitely one of the best record stores around.
I originally enjoyed the experience I had here. But when I asked for a new cartridge the employee just handed me a brand new one without even asking about or looking at the turntable I brought in. The cartridge I was given is not compatible with my turntable, poor customer service is to blame. The cartridge I was givin has genuinely ruined my listening experience.
Best place to buy used records in the Lansing/East Lansing area. Great selection and knowledgeable helpful staff. I spend way too much money in there!!!
Fantastic place. Always able to find something Ive been looking for.
The staff is very kind and the selection of CDs and vinyls is amazing. The only place in Lansing thatll sell you black metal CDs :)
Great store with a fantastic selection.
Completely new to vinyl, but the owner (John) was more than happy to assist me in finding me exactly what kind of music I was looking for, and explained to me the basics of my new hobby. I also bought a refurbished turntable, and learned some good tips for buying vinyl in the future. While I was shopping exclusively for records, they had plenty of cds, cassettes, and 8track. If you want to get out of the spotify skip track loop and actually enjoy music again for what it is, shop here.
Ahhhhhhhh I cant even explain how much I love this store.
This is my go to pace to look for old CDs for a low cost. Its a very cool hidden place thats been in the same area for years. So if youre looking for something specific or just looking to add to your collection, this is the place to come look first.
Initially I thought I had been over charged. Turns out they actually rounded down and Im an absolute dunce. The guys here are amazing, all apologies to them.
Record shops, let alone good record shops are so hard to find these days. Add to that owners who have been serving Mid-Michigan for decades dealing in new and used vinyl, CDs and cassettes! I thought the days of scouring the bins for gems and bargains would soon be a distant memory. Not so! I bought a slightly used super deluxe U2 Achtung Baby and Beach Boys Smile Seesions
Ive been coming here for more than 20 years and I love it. A great selection of vinyl. Great people and good recommendations.
Awesome spot to just kill time and be surrounded by pure history..... better that any museum!
WOW! It was a blast! Just like when I was a kid in the 80s! Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME record store! Im getting an analog turntable, so Ill be back again, and again, and again!!!
Ive been in the area since the mid 90s - This place will always have what youre looking for. Even if youre not into vinyl its worth stopping in and having a look, youll find something new and cool.
Best record store in mid Michigan. They had an avant- garde cd section when no one else did anywhere in town. Thanks guys for all the great discs through my college years. A staple of East Lansing. Long live Flat Black & Circular!
The staff is very knowledgeable in all genres of music. If a customer wants a record,Jon will find it item on 🌎 wide bases . one of best stores in East lansing . ✌..
They have a massive selection of records and a fairly large cd collection as well. All their prices are great, especially on 45s and the bargin cd bin.
I have been to many record stores and this one is continuously the best one. I would make a trip to East Lansing just to come here.
They have an amazing selection! Found a lot of records Ive been looking for ages for. Best record store in Lansing area.
Great selection. Fair pricing. Knowledgeable staff
Best music retailer in Michigan for old releases.
