I recently completed a complete kitchen and bath renovation through Consumers. I had the pleasure of dealing with Tom Dubensky. He was very professional and kept in contact throughout the process (often responding to emails I sent the same day after close). I was missing a few handles—no problem, the special order came a week later free of charge. I would definitely recommend Tom for anyone in need of a little guidance, he was great!

We purchased starmark cabinets from Consumers and 1 of the 2 things should have been a red flag for my wife and I to not purchase from there. 1 was our rep leaving midway through our purchase process and the 2nd was our new sales person having to get up to speed and missing items. The starmark cabinets are not as high quality as they claim. We have already seen dents and chips in the paint and its been 1 year. The soft closing doors on 3 of the cabinets have already gone and I am now replacing the hinges. We bought white cabinets and we thought our white cabinets would have white bottoms and insides which is not the case and we werent told they would be wood color inside. Not the experience we expected for 18k in cabinets.

I just renovated my kitchen and I could not be happier with the final results! First let me say I have an odd layout and I had a couple kitchen designs from other sources I just was not happy with, that is until I sat with Thomas Dubensky from east meadow CK&B! Thomas layout and design gave me optimal storage, seating, counter space and cabinets. He held my hand and guided me through every step along the way, from style cabinet to color choices, right down to mouldings and hardware! He was a God send! Thomas was patient and answered all of my ridiculous questions and never left me waiting. The cabinets were ordered and arrived before my appliances! I will be definitely be paying him a visit when I redo my bathroom! Thanks again for everything! :)

THE WORST! GO ELSEWHERE!We recently renovated our kitchen and though the “design” process went well it was downhill from there. We did not purchase a low end “budget” kitchen so I was not expecting to have so many quality and service issues.This place literally screwed up every step of way, including missing pieces, wrong size pieces and overall very frustrating experience trying to get this project done. So unless you want months of frustration and run around I am convinced that any other cabinet maker can provide you with a better experience and better product.

I went to the East Meadow store looking for kitchen cabinets to match my original cabinets that I purchased from Consumers 12 years ago. There were two associates sitting at their desk with nobody else in the store. Neither one of them got up to help me and when I finally asked one of them to come help me out he knew nothing about the cabinets. I asked about a certain piece and he said he didn’t know and that they don’t have a catalog. I pointed out a display and asked about it and he said that the display was ten years old and discontinued. I asked him how do you guys sell anything when you don’t know about it? No answer. I walked out.

The showroom staff (Charles) was great to work with and helped us to avoid a handful of potential challenges we didnt even realize.Delivery team was excellent I was notified before their arrival, they arrived on time and were easily and quickly able to get the vanity into my house. Although the quality of the items I purchased are good quality, my order was delayed and I was misinformed regarding the status of my items after making many calls, which delayed my project. Also, at times when I called, I would not get a response back and I needed to take further action myself.

If you want your bathroom done right don’t spend your money here!!!Division Manager: Phil BedryAssistant Manager: Tom Dubensky- VERY unprofessionalAccredited designer: Charles Herbert BAD salesmanOn February 4, 2020 we made a purchase for a custom bathroom vanity, sink, quartz countertop, and bathtub totaling $5,285.57. We left with the impression that we would receive the items listed above via delivery in 3 weeks time, starting with a first delivery of the bathtub on February 27, 2020. To our surprise there was no delivery made that day. We went to to showroom to see why the delivery was not made and Charles Herbert told us that the three week period was actually for the delivery of the tub to consumers warehouse. We finally received the tub on March 3, 2020. We still had no finalized delivery date of the other items listed above. We waited another two weeks and they told us the remaining items would be delivered sometime around April 8, 2020. After much back and forth hassle with Tom Dubensky and Phil Bedry over the phone they confirmed delivery of the remainder items for April 12, 2020. April 12 the delivery comes and it has everything except the quartz countertop. We went back to consumers and spoke to assistant manager, Tom Dubensky. He had no words of apology for the item being missing and went on to place blame on us while throwing his coworker Charles Herbert under the bus by stating we should have been informed that we would receive an email or phone call from a separate company that does the countertops within 1-2 weeks of placing the order. We checked our emails and there was no communication from such company. As they were about to close that day, Tom stated that he could not do anything personally because he had no power to do so and the countertop company is closed on the weekends. He insisted that we would have to wait for Phil on the next Tuesday to get further information regarding our missing item. It been two and a half months and out bathroom still is jot complete because we thought we were working with a professional company. Clearly we were mistaken. Don’t make the mistake we made of trusting this unprofessional company!

Recently I had my kitchen remodeled. Tom Dubensky helped me design the kitchen cabinet layout. Tom was professional, knowledgeable, detailed, responsive, and very patient. He listened to all my ideas and helped me figure out the best way to design my kitchen space. He was also very responsive to any concerns I had throughout the process. We had a pantry built and it is amazing! We had to match the color of our existing cabinets which took a significant amount of time. Our saleman, Tom Dubensky took the time to match both the color of the new pantry and also the crown molding. The end product looks fantastic. Everyone who comes into our home remarks on how great it looks. Thank you Tom for making sure the end product was perfect.

The sales rep grossly misrepresented the amount of time it takes for what they call “custom furniture” to be delivered! He said 6 weeks, it took almost 3 months! When I went to get a refund of the delivery fee due to my inconvenience, the rep said I would get the refund in 5 days, and I still don’t have my refund 3 weeks later! Currently dealing with the Better Business Bureau about this terrible service!

I went to Consumers Kitchens and Baths in East Meadow.Tom Dubensky said Good Morning and left me to browse the showroom at my leisure and did not pressure me at all....and when I was ready I approached Tom.He answered my many questions with patience and respect. My many visits to Tom were always informativeAnd I walked away feeling at ease. Tom listened to what I was saying and showed me some designs for my small kitchen. My wife and I just had a wonderful experience with Consumers K&B. We were very nervous redoing our kitchen, but, Andrew Greenwald, our kitchen designer, made us feel very comfortable throughout the process. He was very patient with us and knowledgeable, explaining everything and answered all of our questions. The cabinets came in ahead of schedule and the warehouse held them for 2 weeks until our contractor was ready. The delivery men were polite and very helpful in brining in the cabinets in order by what the contractor wanted to install. After the cabinets were installed, the counter top people came immediately to measure and the counter tops were delivered a week later. Everything went so smoothly with Consumers. I would recommend Consumers to anyone wanting a new kitchen and would add to ask for Andrew in the Franklin Square store.

The free sink was not shipped along with the kitchen cabinets and have to pay extra for another delivery charge. The cabinet cracked when arrived. The order was placed and deposit was paid around Dec 2019 and as today, 3/17/2020, still missing the counter top - still under construction.

Not surprised to find such a poor rating on Google. We purchased kitchen cabinets. Our salesman was terrible. I needed to insist he check the catalog to find a cabinet that would fit (which he did) after saying one did not exist. When our cabinets were installed they opened up and hit one another. I called to ask if there was a solution and he told me to get chains from a hardware store. After making holes in my cabinets to install these (which didnt work) I called directly to the cabinet company which they tell you they already did. Apparently there was a simply installed hardware called cabinet restraints. I had to once again call consumers to tell them what I needed to fix the problem. Months later they arrived. If they had called themselves as they said they did. I wouldnt have brand new cabinets with dents and holes. Both the manager and assistant manager have apologized and assured me they would try to find a way to rectify the situation. It is 3 months later. No call. No help. Still have cabinets with holes and damage. Terrible customer service. Do not use them. They are not knowledgable or helpful.

Good products, terrible customer service. They said they would call when the cabinets were ready, was supposed to be 6 to 8 weeks tops we just got our cabinets today when they were order in October. I took off 2 days of work so i could be here for the delivery and no one showed up or called. Then i finly get the vanity for my bathroom and its wron color and its damaged.

Based on numerous negative reviews I was leery but decided to see for myself. My wife and I spoke to a salesman. After looking at options, he scheduled us for the following week to look at a detailed plan. My wife and I rearranged our schedules to be there. The salesman didnt show up to work and didnt tell anyone he had an appointment. Another salesman apologized and we started to leave. Then I thought we could ask THAT salesman to help. We went back in the store and I couldnt find him. I went up to a different salesman at the next desk and said, Excuse me. Do you know where the gentleman is that was sitting here? His response, I dont know. Somewhere in the store. REALLY? Not, I will find him I will page him, etc. Its a showroom. Its a SALES FLOOR. If the sales force is a no show or dont want to life a finger for a potential customer....NO WAY. I wouldnt go in there if there gave kitchens away. My experience only served to reinforce the dozens of negative reviews I have seen on this company.

My sister just had the worse customer service experience of a lifetime. They delivered her cabinets on the front lawn and didn’t bring them in the house. No apologies from them. Argued with her instead. Only solution was for her nearly 70 year old husband to hump them into the house. There’s so excuse for such terrible service. Shame on them. She paid a fortune for this kitchen! Consumer Kitchen and Bath Not recommended!!!!!!!

Spent a lot of money on a custom kitchen cabinets. They came in and measured and had us sign the work order, the cabinets came and three pieces were over 12in too wide! They said it was our fault because we signed and verified the pages of measurements. What?? They don’t stand by there work and now we are screwed out of the money. Ridiculous

There were several issues even prior to finalizing that I was luckily able to catch, one major one was the color of the cabinets which was incorrect on the invoice and I had to make a trip back into the store to correct the issue. After trying to contact the man who we placed the order with by email several times without an answer, I called and realized that his line was disconnected and then learned he no longer worked there. I was never notified by the staff that he wasnt working there. As the person in charge of our order, I would have liked to know that. I spoke to the store manager about my concerns at the time and he assured me everything was still on time and on track for Feb 20th, which was about a week later than I anticipated given an original 8-week estimate. This ended up not being the case, as the order was delayed an extra two weeks.After the cabinets were installed March 11, my contractor and I realized there were a few issues with the order, such as missing toe kicks, which my contractor agreed to make, cabinets that did not come pre-cut despite me supplying the specs of the appliances I ordered ahead of time, lack of finished bottoms for the cabinets (molding or light rails I believe they are called?) and the garbage was not a double pail as requested. The only thing I really needed to be fixed that my contractor could not assist with was the pail. We use two pails daily and I had explained to the man who placed our order initially that we needed a cabinet that had two, even if one was smaller, otherwise there would be no point to wasting the cabinet space. He said that they could do it so we went ahead with it, or so I thought.When I called the store manager to inquire, he said the double pail was never on the order, but he would inquire with the cabinet company and get back to me. A week later with still no response, I reached out again and asked him to follow up with the company by the end of the week. I also asked him to follow up on our cabinet pulls we ordered a week ago to ensure they were still on target to be delivered this Friday.In a few hours, the manager called back saying that they could indeed provide the correct pail (so basically he never attempted to contact the company the week prior), but it would cost $450 and they would discount it and waive the delivery fee, bringing the total to $350. I politely reminded him that I had in fact ordered the correct pail and the man helping me perhaps forgot to put it in the computer correctly, but while I am happy to pay the difference in price for the corrected pail and return the old one, I did not wish to pay that much, especially considering I just placed an and paid for an order with your company for over $16,000. I believe it was actually closer to $17,000. The manager REFUSED and took an ATTITUDE, saying this was the best he could do and he had no proof that I ordered the double pail. I asked him if he thought was lying to him. He reminded me that I was not, in fact, the real customer, it was my contractor who ordered the cabinets and he should have checked it.UPDATE:: I am writing an update to a previous negative review as the company has tried to make amends. Following writing these reviews, they did return my email and agreed to pay for the cost of the garbage can and apologized for the miscommunication with the manager. They are trying to rush the correct garbage pail and have also sent a lovely edible arrangement basket to show their sincere apologies. I do appreciate all their efforts and just wish it didnt take getting to this point to do the right thing. We do continue to enjoy the rest of the cabinets and hope that they have learned from their mistakes and moving forward this would not happen to customers in the future.Would I order again? I probably would. I dont think they would make the same mistake twice and there is a genuine interest in making things right. I cannot ask for much more than that as a customer.

After multiple productive meetings with our designer/sales rep, Joe Thompson, he made a very good kitchen design. We placed an order on 2/27/15, gave a 50% deposit, and were told that turnaround time from the manufacturer (Starmark) was six weeks. It is now nine weeks, and no cabinets. We were promised theyd be on the truck last Wednesday, which turned out to be untrue. Next week will mark ten weeks. And no indication that anyone at Consumers is calling Starmark or otherwise following up. Joe Thompsons comment to our contractor: Theyre just going to have to wait.

We went in last week, walked around for 20 minutes before we had to ask someone to help us in an otherwise empty store. The salesmans response was help with what? like he couldnt figure out that us being there might have something to do with buying kitchen supplies. When we asked for pricing information on kitchen cabinets, he gave us a ridiculously high number without any information on what we wanted, acted like he wouldnt talk to us until we agreed to that price and was blatantly rude to us the entire time we tried to get information from him. We walked out with nothing and will never go back there again. No customer service.

We just finished our whole house renovation in Woodbury NY. My contractor suggested I take a look through Consumers Kitchen and Bath to get some ideas on style and design. We are so HAPPY we did! Our kitchen and bath design consultant Gwynn was FANTASTIC! She patiently worked with me from the beginning to the end of both our kitchen, and 3 bathroom renovations. She is extremely knowledgeable with the quality of the cabinets, the functionality of how her customers kitchen should operate and her eye for design. Also Gwynn coordinated and resolved any issues with the contractor with regard to roughing concerns. I could have never managed this huge project without her guidance and help.

I bought my new Starmark kitchen cabinets 3 years ago. They were very busy at the time due to Super Storm Sandy, but was happy with service and cabinets. The lazy susan shelf on my upper corner cabinet cracked (use it for oils and vinegar almost every day ). Took my order info to the East Meadow store and they got the manufacturer to replace it even though the warranty was up. Am very happy with sevice. Thanks Guys

Im standing outside the store and writing this review, my wife and i just walked into the store in east meadow and saw three representative one was on the phone the other two did not even acknowledge us we walked looking at shower doors and no one even tried to assist us my wife eventually walked over to a lady and asked for assitance and she made us feel like we didnt belong she quickly dismissed us and walked back over to her desk. Go somewhere else to spend your money youre not welcome at this store.
