Mexican and Latin American themed grocery store selling a variety of groceries, alchohol, warm food, and meat/seafood. Pleasant experience if you need something fast. Prices are fair, customer service is fast, and the store is well put together. Details will follow:[Groceries]They have pretty much everything here if it can be found in Mexico or elsewhere. They have a large grocery section, they have a deli with hot food in tubs that looks great, they have beer, and they have a cheese, meat, and seafood section! Everything is written in English and Spanish, which is a plus! The store could be organized and faced (pushing all products to the front) better, but otherwise a great store.[Location]Located in a large complex next to Target and Ikea. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Safe area. Easily accessible from Highway 1.[Customer Service]Customer service was efficient. Everyone spoke Spanish and English which is great for helping everyone! . Super helpful staff!
Mid size grocery store. Hispanic products obviously. Great variety, excellent sercice. They also offer home made like food. Good flavor and Aguas frescas are really good. Enjoy.
Great service great prices. Lots of great fruits and vegetable selections. The Hot market place with tacos and burritos andRaman Birra is very good.Meat selection is awesome and the daily fresh made tortillas and salsa and guacamole are delish . Thank you for all you do.
The tortilla used for the tacos were thick but good. Ingredients fresh.but dry and not much flavor. Was missing something.LONG wait. Dirty tables.Didnt get any napkins withthe order.
I come here for the marinated meat which is always flavorful. It is expensive but worth every $15.
You cant even order your tacos without them getting mad at you for asking not to put onions on them. They want to make them how they want. Then you pay for my tacos.
Went Wednesday afternoon and the cash register lady on #1 was in a rush. SOME OF MY GROCERIES WERE ON THE FLOOR OF HOW CARELESS SHE WAS. Half the bread I bought was squished or crumbled up. She did not start to help me bag up the groceries until a Manager stood in front of her register. If you dont care how your groceries are treated then shop here !!
Great product. Awesome delicious variety of hot foods. Killer Tacos and fresh fruit juices
Bad customer service I put a star because I have to otherwise I’ll put 0.
I meant you can find other products more expensive than other, and the customer it’s horrible!!
I really enjoy Cardenas Market. It has all the things I miss from my home in Sonra, Mexico.
BAIT AND SWITCH: They advertise something for a very low price but it’s not available when you go there. They say we ran out, you can call ahead to check next time. I called at least five on different days- guess what-NO ANSWER!Asked to talk to a manager and the head cashier said you have to look for him. She said she can NOT call him in phone or PA.
The wait for the rosca was a long one but the bread was fabulous Im coming back next year for sure!!
Found what I wanted
Great for pre-marinated and pre-cut taco meat. 🤌🏼
When you try to buy special deal the cashier always has an excuse, the clients and up buying at regular price. Store does not respect the deals.. Long waiting time to pay.
Great place! Great prices! Great Quality of produce!
Helpful staff and so many delicious things to choose from at a great price!
It was great!
Good store loved champurrado and sweet bread!!
This is a great market for mostly Hispanic foods.
Great place, especially for the weekly produce deals. The kitchen also prepares tasty traditional dishes at an affordable price (carnitas, birria, guac, salsas, etc).
Love this place! Dependable and my-go-to store for lots of basics and those quick must haves. The prices are fair and the selection of products is amazing.
Nice place to shopping... A lot of Latin flavors😉😁
Items are well arranged and spacious enough. Fast service at the cashier. Grateful to have visited today.
I go for the fruits and vegetables. Never been disappointed.
Always have the freshest produce and meats and right now they have prices that cant be beat!
A full service Mexican supermarket. You can get all the traditional food here. All workers speak Spanish.
Restaurant:Inspect and taste test anything they allow. Be careful. I’ve seen flies step on their food and they’ll ignore me or make excuses and leave it for the next person to consume. Their workers don’t practice proper hygiene concerning the food. Some of it is bad quality, like the “taquitos”. Too crispy, with a little bit of meat and expensive. What a waste! 🤢💸Store:Unsanitary and not well maintained. It looks like mold is growing throughout their insulation. There aren’t enough workers. It’s falling apart. 😷
I wanted to buy the whole store! Lol I went in just for 1 item... I left with 7 lol and I wanted to buy more. The meat market is very impressive and good. I also ordered a burrito and a Cantaloupe agua fresca. Very Delicious. This store won me over!
Didn’t had the meats I wanted for tacos that were on the menu in the morning. And only gave me 2 pieces of old looking lemon. I wouldn’t come back to be honest. Asado burrito wasn’t even good.
Best food!
Good place to go for fresh meat and produce. Some prices are reasonable however they dont match or beat competitors prices and the majority of food products on the shelves, I feel, are 15% more expensive than other local grocery stores. Good for last minute grocery shopping, but I prefer another grocery store if Im able to avoid this place. Overall good customer service and good quality products thats why I gave 4 stars, but if prices were just as good I wouldve given 5 stars.
Large and well stocked latino grocery store with deli, bakery, and cantina. Especially good selection of fresh greens, chilies, and beans. Cantina veggie burrito is great. Has a token selection of alcohol and white people-food.
Great for family food packages
If u want super authentic Mexican food look no more. Not a better deli within 20 miles. Will not disappoint. Best in the so. bay.
Burrito was excellent
Im rating the food here from their food court and not their groceries. I came here to get a burrito and found that the food here is prepared slowly and without much care. It was one of the worst burritos that Ive had out of all the Mexican food venues Ive eaten at. The meat was OK (I got cabeza), but the other ingredients were not as fresh or flavorful as what Im used to.
Very crowded, long lines with only 2 registers opened. People at the registers are slow.Went to buy cherries and every bag of cherries were mouldy.Prices are reasonable. They need to open more then 2 cash registers and people working at the Cash registers need to talk less and provide faster service. Another thing check your receipt. I bout chips that were on sale for $ 1.99 and when I paid they charged me $ 4.99 each. Tried to let clerk know of their error and I got dismissed. Little they knew that I speak and understand Spanish. Thank God Im Portuguese I was able to understand them speaking smsk without knowing I understood. Im taking my grocery shopping at Safeway or Walmart. Cardenas just lost another customer.
I go there mostly for the hot and ready food and its probably one of the best food choices near by. The line does get pretty long during lunch time. But I guess thats a good sign.
Inside a grocery store, good food but so much stuffed in the wrap it broke open and spilled everywhere. Less is better sometimes. Too much guacamole also. It was everywhere
Rotisserie chicken warmers need a good sanitation cleaning. I didn’t make it that far in to check out the kitchen area. I’m assuming it must have been the same. Poor management. The Store is filthy!
Wonder if this store is closing most what I came to look for they are out.. Tamales Out, rotisserie chicken out, Carnitas out,I think they are closing the store
Sea food and meat water down not appetizing, no trucks with name brands when they have deliverys trucks are all white with graffitiIf I wanted to hear Latin music I would go to the flea market most employees say when asking for help no speak English we need an all American market and not one that caters to one culture.
They stock very good meat every time i pass by the store, and will continue to shop as long its there!Recommended!!
I would rate a NEGATIVE 5 if I could! I sent my husband here to buy me salmon Tonight. When he brought the salmon home it reeked of very strong unpleasant fish through the two plastic bags. I’ve never ever smelled salmon this fishy, strong and unpleasant! It was so over powering. We spent $13 on It, plus I thought “why would there be spoiled fish in a fairly new store” so I decided to rinse it and cook it the normal way I would salmon. Once it was done I took a little bite into my mouth and without chewing, immediately the aroma of fish that was probably thrown in garbage and left there for a week took over my mouth. I’m so angry and I feel sick to my stomach. My daughter said she tasted a bit too and she feels even worst! I should’ve went with my first mind I’m so angry with myself as well. What makes me even more angry overall is that if there anything like mi pueblo they don’t take refunds of any type! Never shopping here again, shouldn’t even be a part of Ravenswood plaza!
The lines are always long they need more cashiers at check out & an update on their cake decorations other than that I have no complaints
My experience was very frustrating... Employees spoke very little English . The communication was not very good .I phoned them called 4 times NO ANSWER
Good quality
Do not go here! We decided to give this place a try after an Ikea shopping trip. We walked in walked up to the cashier to order some food at the food area. Three employees looked at my family and all three walked away! No One was in there, they just did not want to wait on us. Terrible customer service. The place was dirty and smelled funny anyway. So I guess it was for the better we just left. Dont waste your time or money. Awful.
Meats are highly suspicious. Looks like they were sold to them off the streets or was bartered for something else. Feathers are still hanging from the skin. I know its not seasoning. Ill give you 2 chickens for a sack of flour, sugar, milk, bread and some oats please.. If thats the case, then bring the barter system back and Ill bring my pig. Enjoy!
Compare to the other Mi Pueblos, this one is the worst. The stake on the tacos are super tough, only a few selections of Mexican bread and no order in the lines where you order food. Go to another Mi Pueblo. Pittsburgh one is the best. (5 stars)
I dont recommend this market, they dont have enough people working here, and they are ruth when you ask if someone can help you...
Went on my lunch break asked for a asada torta and got a tripe burrito instead their excuse was they ran out of bread!! The cashier was disrespectful and rude
I guess this is the biggest Mexican grosory store. Very decent price and also clean.
Being honest here but customer service is so bad. Im trying to call the store for questions and nobody picks up. All the people who works there are very lazy. Especially the cashiers. They are laughing and talking to each other like they are in a club and taking forever to do their work. I do not know if the manager is paying attention on these issues at the store.
Good food options, watch out for the noon rush. Good selection of groceries but checkout can take awhile compared to other grocery chains. They need to place more clerks when it gets busy.
The place is very nice and very much alive. It gives you a good and happy feeling. Happy colors and Music. It looks like vacation. The place is clean. There are two things in there that bothers me. The odor in the meat and poultry area that I dont know what it is. I didnt smell the same thing in any other grocery store. Mostly I avoid passing there if I dont want to buy something specific. The other thing that I cant understand is the pricing!! many of their items are as expensive if not more than high end stores like Whole Foods, Piazza, Fresh Market in Palo Alto or similar places. The average income of the store visitors is significantly lower than the ones who are buying from Whole Foods, Trader Joes etc. yet you pay the same price!! The price of items like Tomato, Banana, Avocado etc. is quite high.Hope it helps.Sean
The tacos were excellent.
This is a great place to come for great tasting and affordable produce. They also have an excellent meat selection. Frozen food products and dairy seemed a little overpriced.
Is a good place to get all Latin products and Mexicans food.
Mi Pueblo represents everything bad about a city that lacks adequate competition. The whole place is just a loud, chaotic mess, with sorry offerings, apathetic staff, and probably a raft of health code violations.I genuinely feel bad walking into this store... Its psychologically exhausting to go into the place, with its obsession on keeping the TV and music volumes at 11 at all times. Guards with guns greet you at the door, and if you can get more than 5 ingredients on your list, consider it a success. The only reason I go here is to avoid the 45-minute drive it would take to get groceries at a Safeway, and because they do have a passably decent rotisserie chicken. If EPA ever wants to improve, they can start by adding a grocery store that doesnt suck.
I used to go to this market when it was Mi Pueblo Supermarket and I used to find pretty much everything...now they are missing a lot of stuff....I cant find everything what I was looking for...I had to choose a different store...
Ive been to Mi Pueblo back in the east bay and my first time was eating from their food center. They have burritos, tortas, tacos etc. Its pretty good there but can be a bit pricey. Its also a regular super market so you can get groceries here as well.
Its a good supermarket because you can find different products to reasonables prices
Great mexican supermarket. Lots of awesome ingredients and general goods.
Clean, convenient location. Very friendly staff and a great burrito.
Everything was easy to find, signs were in both Spanish and English. All the specialty Mexican products and ingredients you need for your next fiesta!
Nice grocery store. Lot of marinated meat and salads. Large variety of chilly and jalapeno. Chicken is rather cheap compared to other places.
I dont usually shop there because it smelled and product/produce was not neatly stocked..however yesterday I saw a different store...no bad smell, fresh produce and well stocked shelves..will give a better rating if upkeep continues the next time I visit.
I have mixed feelings. Shopping for grocery goes well but for some reason everytime I try to order at the food court, I always get ignored by the women working at the counter so they can help the next person in line. I have a feeling its because I dont speak Spanish because when they ask me in Spanish what I would like and I respond in English they mumble something as and move on to the next person, I really hope that is not the case as I do like shopping here.
Was verry happy to stop by and have some AGUACHILE, had it and no less then 20mins after i left. I knew it was BAD. I called to find out, to let them know, and all this person did, was answered the call and hunged up on me, once i told her the issue with their food. Never Againg!
Everything here is great! Head to the back and pick up some fresh conchas!
Food is great but if busy might be a long wait to get the food, like a burrito. Prices are very reasonable.
Large selection, and better prices than the small mi pueblos. Will definitely shop here again next time Im in East Palo Alto.
Excellent costumer service and great variety of fresh food
Honestly the management need some work. I was not satisfied that different cashiers had different price. For example, paying for bread at bread cashier was cheaper than paying at a regular cashier. This doesnt make sense right?
Giving up on customers needs. Market is barely full
I like that they always have good deals!
Great place to find a variety of authentic Hispanic items. Bakery items are quite good when fresh.
I love their food! Their tacos and burritos taste really good! It can get very crowded and a bit loud on weekends
I been on this place a couple times on tha past, but today I realy got a bad experiense.I ordered a caldo de res, got served and the lady went out to clean the tables. And a liked to place ono more order and the lady on the line ignored me even when I make I tell her about the second order.I got ready to pay and tha casher tell ger about the order she even said its becouse he ordered to the order lady and she was taking oder orders. And ond top of that she served my order on her on time even when my order was ready to paid for.Very bad custumers satifaccion and leadership.
Thrift store is good soda expensive have fresh meat and fish have cooked food inside where you can sit and eat your food all kinds of Mexican food
Your below average Mi Pueblo. This place used to be good but then the management changed and now they constantly run out of things. The taqueria section is particularly disappointing. Always out of all pastor or dont have someone who can prepare/cut the meat. This place is also a nightmare for anyone who has allergies. Food scattered everywhere and all the bins are mixed. If your allergic to dairy at all, you prolly already dont come here but just in case you changed your mind, time to change it back and avoid eating here.
Two stars for the food court drink and dish choices. Three stars for the groceries, prices, long lines, selections. One star for the overpriced taco-a small spoonful of greasy, overcooked meat doused in some sauce, sprinkle of onions, cilantro, with a side of lime and radish. The meat choices looked super dry and way overcooked. Where are the trash cans to throw away the inedibles? How do they think or care about their customers if they serve such grease? Maybe if you are super hungry and dont really look at how everything is cooked?
Very nice inside, you have a little bit of everything for a fiesta. I like the homemade papusas.
Clean supermarket with a excellent deli. Prices are not bad.
Over priced, the food is not that good than other Mexican place and needs more personal
They make your breakfast fresh 🙂
Dried grilled chicken at the food deli. As for the camaron cerviche, it tasted like ketchup. Overpriced avocados on 7/30/16, $3 each!
Great authentic food like caldo de res and Chile con carne
The hand towls didnt work, the cards are not running good. But I did pay right away, I dont like to wait in line, three people is a lot to wait in line. We have two elders at home so my time is gold when I live the house. Thanks.
Good place to get tacos from the deli never really shop there.
Been going to this Mi Pueblo for the past 3 years specifically for their taqueria, beef stew and tres leche cake. Today was really disappointed. The glass display case windows were smudgy (not clean), the bakery had no tres leche cakes (original, strawberry, mango (which is my personal favorite), etc.) in either whole cake or by the slice. The beef stew did not look appetizing. At the burrito bar, they use to have black beans and pinto beans besides refried beans. Today, was only soupy fried beans that come from a can. The Super Burrito was not super, but what was their regular size burrito. Service to order/pay was SLOW and the helpful, friendly workers that I normally see there were not working today. I am hoping that today was a really off day because I would be really disappointed that this is Mi Pueblo new standard of service in terms of help, cleanliness, and quality of food. I wont be coming back to eat here ever again.
Good deli, a bit expensive. Grocery store had good selection. Clean.
Authentic Mexican market. Good guacamole, decent ceviche.
