This is a different kind of review. I was in town on business and sitting in my hotel room Sunday night. All of a sudden, plop, one of my lenses fell into my lap. I thought OK, Ill just snap it back into place. No such luck. The screw holding the frame together was gone and the frame was hanging open. So I did a Google search (with only one eye) and found Walmart and Bard. I decided to try the local business. First thing Monday morning I found a parking spot right in front of Bard (1 star). I was greeted promptly by Ashley (2 stars). I showed her my glasses and she immediately said Sure, I can fix that. (3 stars) She had the job finished in less than five minutes. (4 stars). And when I tried to pay her she said No sir. There is no charge. (5 stars) And she flashed me a perfect smile.Heres the thing. I cant honestly tell you that Bard does a good job making glasses. But what I can tell you is that employees make the company. And I can also tell you that Ashley is a wonderful employee. Based on my interaction with her, this has to be the best place for you to go when you need new glasses. So go see Ashley and tell her That old guy with the broken glasses sent you.
We went to Bard Optical due to insurance and also thinking we would receive a better product and service. Absolutely not. Our 6yr old son needed glasses. A couple months after we got them the side ear piece fell off. We went in to get them repaired and had to pay to repair them as they were not under warranty. Then again about 3wks later they broke again in the same spot. Brought them in again and again no warranty. They were very adamant about their product. At least they super glued them for me.The kids glasses are overpriced and flimsy.Their hospitality was less then what they stand for. We came here thinking we would get a good product. However Wal-Mart glasses were much better, never had any issues, and they have a warranty if so. I will be paying out of pocket from now to not go to Bard. Very disappointing.
My experience here was great. All of the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. The technician who did 5-6 different tests was knowledgeable, and thorough. The Dr. Spent about 30 minutes with me going over everything to see if we could figure out what was causing my eye pain. Then Taylor helped me to pick out new glasses. She was friendly and informative. I think the overall experience was very pleasant.
Absolutely refuses to give you your PD number after paying for an eye glasses exam. When we called and asked for it we got greeted with a bad attitude “we don’t normally give out that information.” They have such bad attitudes. We will not be back.
The ladies were very helpful and efficient helping me out today when I broke my frames!
Not vaccinated employees watch your children and elderly that are susceptible to covid! they dont care in my opinion!

Ashley was amazing. I called 25 minutes before they closed because I tore my contact. She made sure they had them in stock. I was able to get a new one and back on the road before they closed. Great customer service!
Very toxic staff. No one knows how to do their job. I would sooner go blind before enduring that circus again. FIRE THE RECEPTION STAFF! You are not allowed to work here unless your a certified b!^#%?
My experience here was not only good it was excellent. The staff was very friendly and the doctor very knowledgeable. My total time spent here was only 30 minutes or so and I left being able to see better than when I went in. I highly recommend.
Staff was friendly and informative. Prices are reasonable. Dr Mark was great. Had a great experience here. I will be using Dr Mark for my eye care now.
Had a great experience getting my son some glasses. They were very reasonable and had some coupons online that I used to save even more money. :)

I almost didnt visit this location based on the low rating, but Im glad I did. Dr. Schussele was wonderful - very thorough, yet fast. She was down to earth and very understanding. The first eye doctor Ive seen in a very long time that I felt was on my side and not just trying to sell me something and push me out the door.The only negative was a very long wait - about an hour past my scheduled time - but Ive been used to that considering I used to visit Illinois Eye Center. Dr. Schussele apologized for the long wait, saying she was running late that morning. I had a 11:40am appointment, so its not surprising I ran into some backed up scheduling. I wont hold it against her or my rating.The front desk girls were very helpful. One even helped adjust an old pair of glasses for me that my son had mangled.
Completely disappointed went in to get a eye exam for contacts not only did I get the wrong prescription but also the wrong lens measurement had to go elsewhere to get it fixed. Now I have to put up with eye discomfort due to wrong contact lenses. Not only that the optometrist did not say a word about the picture taken of the inside of my eyes.
You are better off to go to a eyeglass place were you get two pair of glasses,plus free eye exam for a whole lot less than Barb Optical.By time you walk out with your glasses and have exam at Barb Optical going to cost a lot more money for just one pair .Just the eye exam alone at Barb Optical cost more than other eye glass stores were you can get two pairs of glasses and free exam.Saw no different in eye exam at Barb Optical than any other eye glass store.If you want to save a lot of money shop around before you consider Bart Optical..Beware of extra hidden charges a few months down the road.
Not the best bard optical Ive been to, staff seems incompetent in their ability to comfort the customer, my questions and concerns were not given a complete diagnosis, nor were they even troubleshooted. I was rushed through the exam with contacts that dont fit right. Not very pleased with my overall experience, I was being talked to like I was incoherent of some sort. Though the manager is probably the only one that was helpful at this location. Every single time Ive been in there they are 100% of the time behind schedule. Always running late.
They will upsale the glare lens to someone who dont even drive the main purpose of the no glare lens is for night driving and they dont explain it well at all when they are selling this to elderly and diabled people who clearly cant drive...manager is rude no customer service skills at all and she apparently is the one who up sold the lenses....its. 100 dollars for that alone....but 600 total bill with a 50 dollar discount and 20 percent and we used our own lenses..
Called to see about getting a pair of contacts to get me through till returning from vacation. Since my prescription with them expired two years ago they would not even try to work with me on getting a pair of lenses which would have followed with a exam and a years worth of lenses. Whoever answered my phone call was extremely rude and didn’t care what request I had because I hadn’t been there in two years. Very disappointed and due to rudeness alone will never return to this location nor any bard optical, seems like they only care about your money.
They are too busy talking and chatting to deal with people
First time around they got my prescription wrong blamed the lab then second time lenses not cut to fit frames lab at fault hopefully third times a charm but won’t be back after this. What was supposed to take a week took over a month, after my exam it took them 9 days to send in my order to the lab with no reason given to me as why took so long. You lost my business from here on out
They did a good job with my eyes and helped me find the frames for me.
Will never do business with Bard Optical! They mixed up contact prescription, had to go back several times to pick up contact samples waiting for contacts to arrive, improperly processed insurance, called corporate office several times to resolve over billing they were very unorganized and incompetent.
Dr Sarmiento and staff are wonderful!
Dr. Mark and Arnie are the bomb! Bard Optical?? Not so much!
