Used to be a great place to buy wholesale cigars. They eliminated their website over a year ago and have not replaced it. Now you have to wait in a queue to place an order with someone who has no access to your favorites or previous orders. Then, they won’t ship the order until they get around to confirming that you are over 21 years old. This is for a business who has been a regular customer for more than 10 years. I can only wonder how they treat new customers. Time to find a new cigar vendor.

For better or worse, I’m a cigar lover. And, this cigar lover loves Famous-Smoke Shop, and have for years.Let’s face it, there’s plenty of cigar stores and plenty of online sellers as well. However when you call any of those with a problem, frankly, they pale badly when compared to the treatment you receive from Famous.Case in point, yesterday I placed an order for some of my faves, which Famous notified me were on sale(which they have very often), and so I placed my order. However when the final screen popped up, it said that there were only 5 packs of five still available; having previously entered my request for seven...which it said were in stock. Well, I picked up the phone and called customer support to see what was up, and they explained that two must’ve been sold just prior to my hitting the “order” button.But then, WITHOUT ME ASKING, my representative, Trisha M., quickly ascertained the issue and started working on a “fix”, rather than tell me that I couldn’t get my discount because my order no longer met the minimum purchase requirement, though through no fault of my own.Bottom line: she initiated a substitution for the two packs which were now unavailable, offering me actually an upgraded product to my original order, which was now whole, and, at the SAME COST to me.Problem solved. Famous retained a very pleased 20 year customer, and, made their sale. “Everyone won”!And Trisha did all this without even having to “run it by her supervisor”, which tells me that Famous’ mission statement gives their customer service support staff authority to make wise and customer centric decisions on-the-spot.Very well done, Trisha M! Ive been purchasing my cigars from famous smoke shop for quite some time now and have nothing but good to say about them. One thing I can say is that I had a favorite brand which were the Principal Chocolate and the Vanilla however they dont carry them anymore but for the guy who stated that he also like Principal Vanilla. I dont know if you like the Principal Chocolate but if you do Im here to let you know you might want to try their Philly Chocolates theyre just as good as the Principal Chocolates that is if you like Chocolate favored Cigars. So Ive ordered me some of those Philly chocolates and Im still going strong with famous because theyre the best place to get cigars for me. I wont buy from anywhere else, although its online its my go to store and I wont change.

Famous smoke is amazing. The Pennsylvania tax code leaves cigars alone so you can get premium cigars for much cheaper. They ship quickly and are always helpful on the phone. I only get cigars from here now. A cigar that costs $3 on here costs $8-$10 at a lounge in MD simply because of taxes. I am saving thousands of dollars with every purchase. I also got a humidor that holds 300 cigars from famous its beautiful and it works and it shipped with no problem just like the cigars. Famous also gives away free cigars, lighters, cutters, ashtrays, and cigars with many of the items on sale so you can quickly build a very cool collection with a fraction of your tobacco budget (whether you are quitting smoking cigarettes or have only bought cigars from lounges.) I recommend this to everyone, although I dont talk about it if I am at a lounge. I will go to a lounge and buy one stick once in a while and I know they all hate famous and sites like it. But yeah famous is amazing.

I was going to let this go after having an awful original experience but after famous wasted more of my time, promised to make things right, and didn’t follow through on a single account, I decided to post my experience. To start, I’d like to say that I have been smoking cigars for well over 15 years. I do have a great point of reference as I have purchased from dozens of different retailers, both brick and mortar as well as online for many years, with an average spend of $3000+ each year so this review is not coming from and ignorant noob.I have made a sizable order from famous, around $400 worth. One of the boxes was a gift and a few others I was going to take on vacation with me, that was two weeks after I made the purchase. A week after my purchase, I received a phone call saying that my order was not shipped, it was on hold until I send a picture of my credit card. I don’t know why it took them a week to call me but I did send it within minutes of receiving a call. The order was then shipped late and using the slowest shipping method so of course, it got here after I had already gone on vacation. As a result, it sat in extremely hot metal mailbox for another week, without decent packaging, without humidification means, without a single Boveda pack (including Boveda packs had become a standard with most online retailers but care about the hobby and their customers, clearly not Famous), rendering all cigars on smokable.Clearly disappointed, I’m still very tolerant to issues so I emailed their customer service saying I am not looking for any reimbursement, refund, or any action from famous whatsoever, just wanted to let them know my disappointment and how poorly my order was treated, basically explaining what had happened and why I was upset to make sure that this didn’t happen with the next person. I figured I would try to revive the cigars, put them in a humidor for a few months to see what happens.To my surprise, I got a call from famous customer service. Not the person I was dealing with before, but another agent. She wasn’t really sure what was going on or what to do but was asked to give me a call. After a good 20 minutes on the phone, she promised to send me a replacement order with a return shipping label so I can send the original order back. It has now been more than two weeks, I received no communication from famous, they didn’t follow through, I didn’t get a shipping notification, a tracking number, a return label or anything. They have gone silent and chose to not follow through on their promises. While I have no plans to review my experience originally and didn’t want anything to be done about the issue as I didn’t need additional stress in my life…….but after going through a round of apologies and NOT following through on a single promise, I changed direction and decided to post my experience here.Needless to say, I will not be going back to famous and advise that you do not either. There are countless retailers that actually care about the hobby and their customers. Good shipping practices, packaging, overall quality, excellent customer service are all very easy to find in this hobby as the competition is fierce. Do yourself a favor and shop with someone that will send you a quality cigars and make you feel like they actually care about you and your business

Famous Smoke Shop has a great selection but also great customer service. I purchased 24 cigars that I had never tried before, believing they would be something I would like. I did not like them. I decided to contact customer service with Famous Smoke Shop and they offered to credit my account with them for any of the cigars I returned. So I mailed back the untouched cigards. True to their word, the next time I purchased cigars from them, there was a full credit for the previous purchase. They didnt have to correct my mistake but they did. I highly recommend Famous Smoke Shop for their cigars and they customer service. What more could you want??

Ive always loved shopping with Famous Smoke in the past. Good prices and really good customer service. However in the past month their Website has become unusable. You cant choose your shipping choice or change delivery locations. Also, about a third of the time when you click on something it takes you to a blank page. Today I tried placing an order and the Website would accept the order. Instead I had to call it in and a very nice CSR took care of me but it took about 20 minutes to place the order. She explained to me that they were building a new Website and that there were problems. (Note: the CSR gave me free two day shipping for my problems which is worth about $16). Bottom line is Im not going to purchase from them until they fix their Website issues. Its hard to believe that in 2021, a company still cant run a ecommerce Website. Pretty Pathetic. I would have given them one star if it wasnt for the terrific CSR.

First I got to tell ya that Im a 75 year old who likes to smoke a good cigar, it took me some time to find the Principles Cigar Brand they are a great cigar for the money, they cant be beat. I recently found that the cigar I purchase which is the vanilla flavored one, the Principles Corona and Chicos are no longer in stock and are not on backorder. Im disappointed and feel like Ive been let down.

While owning a cigar shop for a number of years my default is to always support B&M cigar shops either where I live or where I’m traveling. Sometimes however opportunities for hard to find cigars, or lack of availability in local area has me looking online. Thus periodically I’ll cruise Famous Smoke Shop on-line. Of the sites I’ve purchased from they seem “Ok”. I’ve purchased a few other times from them and either shipping boxes were damaged or cigars were not wrapped sufficiently thus resulting in some cigars being damaged. Granted it’s inherent with shipping cigars that you can/will get such things. But sufficient packaging would help 1) help contain humidity (as much as possible since box is in different environment etc so hard to do) and 2) reduce prospects of damaged product. Over all they are Ok. Similar to other online retailers...there is nothing better though than purchasing from local shops...
