I love this store and so does my toddler! Everyone is always friendly and helpful! Theres always a great managers sale and amazing variety of plant! Last time i was there i noticed baby spider plants were at the managers sale and the associate gave them to me for free.. Beware that there is sometimes a cutest cat chilling in the store. It simple sunbathes near growlights or registers, the cat is very calm and doesnt even interact with anyone.

Friendly and helpful staff streamline the shopping process. The supervisor, Elizabeth was amicable, knowledgable and passionate. I would visit again.The store was well-organized, making the trip a breeze. We were able to get the right blueberry bush for us, as well as learning about soil pH! This store wont lead you wrong.

Everything is easy to find and get to. The workers are very informed and I didnt have to wait in line. In and out quick.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Their plants really last. Sometimes even into the beginning of winter. They are beautiful and always flowering. They may cost more but they are definitely worth it!

English Gardens has great bulbs. I’m partial to Paperwhites; Daffodil Mount Hood, Tulips Mount Tacoma and plant them yearly.

I like the people. Customer service is great. I hate all the Monsanto products. Michigan has so much to offer. They could sell much higher quality small-batch products to support small businesses, be better for the environment, and wed all be better off.

Dont let the higher prices scare you off! The plant genetics always seem more robust than cheaper alternatives, both in growth and flavor/color. Mostly though, the price is worth the return policy on perennials. Roots didnt take? You can get a replacement within 1 year of purchase. Knowledgeable staff really completes the experience.

Always well stocked with a good variety of brands and products. Very helpful and friendly service. I always have a nice chat with the cashier before leaving. Prices are a little high but not the worst in the area at all.

I shop here all year round. I get my birdseed, spring plants, veggies, seeds.... Once I went looking for an off season item, it was not out in the store anymore. The employee helping me went outside into a storage area and found what I wanted. Great service. Also, Ive been here since covid19 and they have all the spots to stand on, and seem to be doing a good job. Lots of outside area and open air to shop in.

Hi ya, I like the store. But today I had a horrible experience. After shopping for a plant for my mother for MOTHERS day, I was shocked😱🤯 and terrified to encounter a very large CAT, near the checkout. Since I am highly terrified of cat, I screamed and exited the store as quickly as possible. I had no choice but to leave the plants I planned on purchasing. I have shopped there in the past and never saw or encountered any animals.This is very bad business practices. Is this also a petting zoo? IUnfortunately, I live in the area of the store, but will not be returning.Two⭐⭐ stars is because Ive had positive experiences in the past.

This place has the best selection and quality on a wide variety of plants and trees. The staff all seem to enjoy their work and love taking care of the customers.

I was asked if I need any help, so I was acknowledged and more than once. The have a nice sale going on and many variety of flowers. I was not busy, but thats what made shopping nice. I was greeted once I went to check out and when I drive around to the side to get my mulch and she loaded on my car for me. I had a great experience.

All of the team members were very friendly and helpful. Elizabeth is knowledgeable, and quick to help guests. The store visit was an enjoyable experience, I plan to return soon!

Prices tend to be higher, but quality of plants is always good. If you look carefully, youll find managers specials that can be a great buy. With a little TLC the plants can come back, and sometimes they are in excellent pots. Staff is usually willing to help give seniors pieces of plants that they intend to throw away that can be used to root new plants. Ive purchased partial bags of soil from there as well when available.

Nice local garden for picking up a few flowers/shrubs through the season. I do feel they are overpriced. Id recommend taking the trip down to Eastern Market for some flowers if you can get up early enough on a Saturday morning. A lot of the gardening supplies Ive found cheaper at Home Depot and my local Ace Hardware.

Ive purchased good perennials and annuals plants and bulbs and seeds there which grew fast and healthy.

Exceptional customer service. They actually took the time to help me find what I was looking for, without making me feel as if I was inconveniencing them. Unfortunately thats become a rare thing these days. Based on my experience in their store, its obvious that they understand the value of great customer service. Thank you.

I love this place. My only complaint is the prices are too high. The plants and supplies are of good quality. Its the only place in town now that Semrau sold out to a big corporation. The service there is terrible! At English Gardens its the exact opposite. Hope it stays open forever.

Always great service and selections. Staff is always helpful. If one person doesnt know about a product, they will radio someone for help who does. They wont leave you hanging.

I called I had been looking for a particular perennial. Other places said they had it but didnt. I spoke to John. Went there and he showed me where it was. I cant thank John enough. He was so helpful. Now my garden looks amazing. Again thank you John.

Dear owners of English Gardens: your store manager told me on Black Friday that fresh cut Fraser firs were not available this year in the 6-7 foot sizes, because they ran out. Ive been buying them there for years, so I was disappointed to be forced to go to Lowes, since their Fraser firs are historically not cut as fresh to the end of November as your supplier.I noticed that the Balsam trees were available for the special $25 Black Friday price, which cracks me up, because you can buy one of those at any tree lot for $20. Your regular price is $60...which is a joke for a tree with weak branches that dont hold up to hanging ornaments.Id rather support a small business than go to a big box store. Please make sure you get Fraser firs in stock next year in the 6-7 foot size. Thank you.

They say they can’t key a card in as a store policy because “we’ve been burned a few times”. I can understand being burned by the hucksters and hustlers in Detroit, but get a chip cheaper or upgrade you’re old ass credit cardswipers because from me personally you are losing hundreds of dollars in sales to online purchases and other similar area stores with maybe not quite the selection such as Souliere landscaping in st clair shores. Get with the program English gardens...
