This restaurant is most likely my favorite in all of Eau Claire! They have big burgers & Fries as well as a large selection of deserts like Malts & Shakes. Price is a bit proud of their product so beware the necessity to spend over $10 for the malt pictured, but WELL worth sharing on any date scenario. Awesome business owners and associates, Highly recommended for cooling off after an afternoon hiking around nearby Carson Park.
Decent food and portios. I had a Chicago style hot dog that was absolutely delicious. I didnt have any desserts but they looked great! I have also heard that this place has amazing breakfasts.
If you live in Eau Claire or come here for festivals this should be on your list of places to visit. One of the best restaurants in the area. Staff are friendly and fast. This place is always busy and with good reason. This place is open for breakfast also but I havent tried that yet. The food is amazing and earns more than a 5 star rating. And then theres the ice cream...fair warning come here hungry.
My son & I were in town for him to take a CLEP test at CVTC and lucked into finding this tucked away little gem before his test. The food was really good! Fries were a perfect crispness, cheese curds were delicious and our main meal’s were really good…fair warning…portion sizes are large!!! The owner was coming through the dining area every so often and checking on folks…can’t get that all that often anymore…customers matter here. We couldn’t handle desert right after eating, but did come back after his test and got the kiddie size of a couple of Legends…yummy!!! UPDAYE…my husband, myself, and our younger son we’re able to stop here and eat after a high school football game. The food was so good…again! Between the three of us we had the coney dog, pork tenderloin sandwich, and chicken fingers. The Legends we had for dessert were so delicious! We all agree this will be a place to stop when passing through Eau Claire!

Best place ever. I had the hot beef and I felt like I was in Chicago. The staff there are the best. I felt like family. This is my go to place. YOU MUST GO THERE. Located close to mayo Luther. If you on I94 it is woth the detour.
Amazing Vienna Chicago hot dogs, the best mushroom and Swiss burger my family ever had, food was presented nicely, the desserts were extremely generous and monster sized! The ice cream was very icy and light. Lots of options and helpful staff.
This old Dairy Queen franchise is now a phenomenal little restaurant with super staff! The servings are very plentiful and tasty. They have daily specials that CANT be beat. My favorite special is the Thursday buy one-get one burger. If you have room for a treat after your meal or just stop in for a treat, you will not be disappointed. They have a wide range of hearty sizes in all their ice cream novelty items.
I dined in, and was surprised by the size of the portions I got. I ordered a breakfast bowl, french toast, and my kid ordered an omelette. Despite us going in very hungry, we left with almost 3 full take home containers, and all for under 40 dollars. I look forward to trying out other items on their menu.

Today I went to Roadside and didn’t realize that they had to close early because of staff shortage. They closed at 2 and I arrived at the drive thru at 2:30. Despite being 30 minutes after they closed, the owner and staff insisted that I still ordered. They were incredibly kind and patient. Amazing customer service!
The food and service are phenomenal! My parents and I all got different things and loved them. My dad couldnt stop saying how good his was! The milkshakes are HUGE and delicious! We will definitely stop here again if we are back in town. Highly recommend!!
Service was awesome people were extremely friendly. I live 3 hours away from there I wish there was one in my neighborhood. I would highly recommend this to everyone whos in the area.
My wife, daughter and I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Excellent service, excellent food with large portions (your not gonna go away hungry) excellent hospitality The owner came out to say hello and to make sure everything was to our satisfaction which it was. I would surely recommend this place as a go to for sure place to eat. The desserts are just as awesome as the meal.
Excellent food - all home made to order! Veggies are fresh and organic, and portions are huge. The owner will always come out and check on you - a super nice guy! Your coffee stays full all the time. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I’d love to go here every day. Prices are good, especially considering the quality and quantity. I hope they’ll add on in the future to accommodate more patrons!

I was excited to finally try dinner here and we ordered fish tacos. Unfortunately, it seemed to us that the fish must canned and not fresh. We assumed it would maybe fried fish but it wet and tasted exactly like canned. I love the ice cream and other things. Im just going to stay away from the fish. Thats the reason for my 3 star rating.
My grandkids, wife and I stopped for lunch; the grilled cheese was very cheesey and great per granddaughter, chicken strips were delicious and many per grandson; my wife loved the cheese burger with all the fixing and I let loose on a few Chicago dogs. Great food big portions. All the workers were busy and we were asked a few times how everything was. Awesome 😎....we will be back for sure. AAA+++

Im Not from around eau Claire but my grandma is. We stopped here to eat and the food is really good but the lady at the counter didnt listen to what I wanted. I got a lemonade when I didnt ask for one and I asked for cheese curds but got french fries they she tried saying didnt hear me ask for it even though she told me there was an upcharge and I said thats fine but still got fries. Wish I could have tried those cheese curds. Just saying didnt like the lady at the counter..
Love their ice cream... their sizing is what some foreign countries might call... very American. A small is basically a large... still super tasty and worth the price though!
We had chicken strips and fries, 2 egg omelette, and beef tacos. They brought chips and salsa to the table. You order at a front counter then they bring it to your table. The food was ALL delicious and HUGE servings. Want to go back for their taco Tuesday.
Went for the first time for food have had shakes from here before and will never come back for food. There was hair in food it took over a half an hour. The breakfast bowl had little to no egg and it was missing half of the ingredients and was dripping in grease. A wrap was also ordered and the tortilla was soggy.The staff was super amazing which was nice.
I guarantee you can make this menu better in your own home with no training. It pretty damn expensive but its a large portion size so maybe thats why they give it a pass? Regardless of portion size, the food tastes lazy & poorly cooked. I would give two or three stars but unfortunately the place is littered with uncomfortable political propaganda everywhere.

This is a great place. Loved the food, especially. The chicken and dumping soup! My soup is as good but not better and theirs is homemade too. Burgers, Chicago dogs and ice cream treats are tops. Very friendly owner and staff. We chose the place because it was on the Chippewa River rail trail but now would go out of our way to visit Roadside.Later note 2/22/22 went back when we we back in Eau Claire. Same great place, same great food and service. See my friend react to his large malt - delicious but brain freeze city.Cant wait to go back!
I am pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. My friend and I do kids dates once a week and usually when we walked into a place with 5 toddlers under 4 we get dirty looks. This placed welcomed the kids with smiles. They were extremely accommodating and didnt act irritated by them at all. They brought our food to our table with extra plates knowing there was sharing going on. The owner came to our table with a basket of chips when they were getting antsy waiting for the food. We didnt even order them or anything. He came by and talked to the kids and asked them how their food was. I just couldnt believe it. It was amazing!
Ordered the steak sandwich and the combo#1 Burger everything tasted great, the steak sandwich is one of a kind experience, in Eau Claire, and will surely quench any massive appetite. They also have a variety of sauces and sides that you wouldnt expect from such a quaint place. The cook in the back brought our food to us and gave his own personal charm to the restaurant. Loved the food. Great personalized service and variety.

These prices are crazy! We pulled up to the window and quickly had to decide what we wanted. I got a small legend and my husband got a medium legend. We knew they go big here but didnt know itd be this big! They should have the sizes by the window to see. Then the worker said the price and I asked my husband did he really say $15 and my husband was like no way! We looked on our card and sure enough $15 for two things of ice cream. What?!? I couldve bought so much ice cream at the store for that amount of money. Put the prices on your drive thru menu!! Thats ridiculous!
Been coming to this place for many years. Their food and ice cream is one of the best in the area. Staff is very friendly as well. Give them a try. You will like them too
Im going to be honest here, the sandwich I ordered was pretty good.. but the chicken breast was like three times the size of my bun and three times expensive so my suggestion is you do about half of the chicken and charge a little less it would be better

Spent like $35.00 and Id say other than the fries everything else went in the trash! Was going to have ice cream but decided not to spend a penny more after the food was so nasty!

This place underwent a huge change once they left the dairy queen logo. The quality of the ice cream products went way downhill. The service is very very slow. The owner has also projected his misogyny and far right leaning conspiracy theories to all the customers via signage everywhere. Honestly a great way to alienate half your customer base and make people feel really uncomfortable. Had my last visit unfortunately.

Told them that we had our puppy with us and we were going to eat in the car with the air conditioner on. (Had too large of a trailer on to go through the drive thru) They said that they would delivered the food right to our vehicle when it was done. The burger and fries were really good!
Bad service and average, overpriced food. Came in on a slow weekday morning and was in my car for a few minutes. A suspicious older employee (a male elder in his 70s) lurking and watching me from a few feet came over and asked me why I was parked in the lot. I said to get breakfast. He quickly changed his tone and said “Okay, you can park here.” What a weird encounter. Not a great way to greet customers or anyone. Got the breakfast burrito with hot sauce. The burrito itself was average. It was bland, and something anyone could make and eat and way overpriced at close to $14. The hot sauce was good but not enough sauce was given to my order to go.
For two meals, expect to spend $25. Each will come with an entree, fries, and a shake or Legend (the small is pictured below). So far, all the food is delicious.The ice cream itself isnt top rate (very basic, not super creamy or anything special), but they are very generous with it and the toppings.Dont waste time at Dairy Queen. Come here, get a small legend and split it with someone. Its cheaper and tastes better. Plus the service is friendly and works hard to keep up with the almost always busy dining room.The food is cooked fresh to order and is very tasty. There is a great effort here to source ingredients locally, which feels good and tastes great too.

Cannot say enough about this establishment. Bring your appetite when you go. The breakfast items are incredible and the portion size is huge. My second time in the place on Sunday and the attention and personal service rivals any small business. Cant wait to go back again and try something different. The pancakes are amazing!

The burgers were of good quality. Ordered small shakes that were indeed rather large. Ended up throwing out over half of the shakesUltimately though I could not avoid the overtly offensive signs posted all over the wall encouraging patrons to not wear masks. Over whelming evidence supports mask wearingas a deterrent to spreading a deadly disease. To have a restaurant to flout this clear and safe advise is disturbing. It is the owners right to post these signs. It is my right to not return here.

Stopped for a nice drive in style meal. Ordered a footlong meal and a bacon cheeseburger and order of cheese curds. $31 dollars!?! Thought I misheard but no it was $31 and change. Portions way too big, hotdog was tough and inedible. Malt too big for container and too chocolatey to finish. Very disappointed and shocked at the price.

The young man and counter girl were very polite and accommodating. The other table with carnitas and other tacos looked great. The ice cream my friend got was a huge item...no luck with the Chicago style dog and the were out of buns so I didnt get the beef. I would go back and give em another go.

Great food!! Homemade items. They use local produce and fresh ingredients, and everything is fresh to order. I go there for the pork tenderloin sandwich. Its huge and tastes amazing!! They give you your moneys worth. Hot dogs are also pretty good. Ill be trying the new York strip steak sandwich next!

Great ice cream that they always give in quantity that is absurd. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. The wait is never that terrible however can be a little long if there is a line in the drive through. The food is good Wisconsin quality however can be little greasy. In any case it has a long history in eau Claire and is definitely worth the stop for a meal.

Always a great place for great food, even when it was DQ it was better than all of the other DQs around here. Amazing quality ice cream with great flavors (including fruit other than strawberries and bananas, which DQ doesnt really have any more). If youre in the area and your belly needs filling, stop at the roadside ice cream and diner!
