The workers at Freewheel are more knowledgeable than at any other shop I went to! Not just knowledgeable, but really into bikes and cycling as a sport. The shop also offers a discount on accessories when you buy your bike, which I wasnt told anywhere else (10-15% off? I forget).If youre a novice cyclist, I highly recommend asking for Matt. He listened to my wants, asked educated questions, insisted on me test driving a few options at different price points to see if I could feel a difference, and had WONDERFUL recommendations across the board! He took the time to give me pointers on bike basics - how to fit the bike to you, how best to pedal, how to shift - the whole shebang. He then walked me through all the types of accessories I was interested in, and had great thoughts on helmets and their technology, without being pushy. He loves biking and it shows - he got me excited to get into the sport!The cherry on top though was how the shop responded to an issue. While transporting my bike home I ran into a major unexpected issue and the shop went above and beyond to help me solve it. After my experience I am a dedicated customer for life!

Christopher was friendly and helpful when I (clueless about how to fix bikes) brought in my son’s contorted bike after an accident. He also answered my questions about helmets and bike repair classes. I bought my Trek bike there in 2020, along with a Kuat rack that I love …in the midst of COVID..and everyone was super friendly and fast and the protocol for masks and people waiting to get in etc was spectacular. Bought my most recent bike from them as well as a trailer hitch mounted rack. Service department brilliantly corrected a problem with a Kuat bike rack we bought that had a piece that was in the wrong place as shipped from the factory that would allow the trailer to be snug in the hitch so it doesnt move around. These guys arent just great bike sales and maintenence guys they think like engineers and were able to correct the hitch problem just before we went on a long trip where the rack needed to be functional. A very kind employee helped me get all the parts I need to prepare my wheelchair tires for winter. They were so accommodating and helpful. The employee even went out to the parking lot with me to test my speedometer to make sure its working properly. They went above and beyond to make sure I was all set and gave helpful advice for changing my tubes/tires and measuring my speed and distance accurately. Im so grateful for their assistance and will definitely be coming back soon.

I live in San Diego and visit the Twin Cities to see family. Bought a fat tire bike and a bike rack from Freewheel in Eden Prairie. Staff is welcoming and friendly, selection is excellent, and Fanatics sale prices are awesome. Wish you had a store in SoCal - youd kill it.

The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly with me. I mostly do my own maintenance but for tricky things (like getting a steerer tube cut) Ill trust the pros to get it right. I felt very comfortable with them and they understood exactly what I was looking for. They made sure I knew what I was asking for to be extra certain without making me feel dumb. They even looked at another issue for me as well with my bottom bracket and confirmed my suspicions that something was amiss and fixed it. Both services were more than fairly priced with a quick turnaround time. But almost most importantly, the staff I interacted with seemed to really enjoy bikes and asked me about various things I did to change it up. Its always fun to have somebody recognize that you swapped out a TT bike cockpit from the stock to something a bit more exotic and be able to point it out.

These folks did an amazing job helping me find a new mountain bike that fits my needs. I love that they have a mini singletrack onsite to be able to really test out the bike (I was evaluating full suspension vs hardtail and really got to FEEL the difference). Highly recommend!

The sales team was absolutely fantastic! Their enthusiasm is infectious and resulted a purchase that has been in the works for quite a while.I came in for a bright pink Roscoe 20 for my daughter. I wanted to get something that would fit and give her the most confidence while still figuring things out a little bit. The team in store was so enthusiastic they managed to sell me 2 fat bikes as well! (I had been considering for a couple years but waiting for my son to be a riding partner. At nearly 9 hes lanky enough for the smallest frame.) Its been a week and my daughter has progressed nicely despite the recent snow storm and my son and I have been out 5 of the last 7 days.Every time the 3 of us get on these bikes the grin is new and genuine!!! First off, I called in to discuss the potential purchase of a Wahoo Kickr. Bret answered the phone and we started our discussion about the machine, benefits, and price. I was so impressed with Bret interaction with me; I could tell he truly cared and knew what he was talking about. I hung up with Bret and immediately called a competitor to have the same discussion I just had with Bret. Ill spare you the details but it suffices to say my experience was almost the exact opposite. So, I continued my travels to Freewheel where I met Bret and continued our talk (and my experience) about what exact model I should purchase. I ended up not only purchasing the Kickr Core but also purchased the Wahoo Element bundle along with a few other misc items.I let Bret know how much I appreciated his professionalism and told him why I ended up at Freewheel and not your competitors.Im all set up and thoroughly enjoying my purchase, thanks.

Purchased my Trek bike from here recently. The experience has been good so far.

I just waited 45 minutes outside in the heat to pick up my bike. I understand during Covid that things are a little different but 45 minutes is unacceptable. Once I was allowed in I counted 6 employees around the shop and I was the only customer. People find another bike shop that knows how to treat there customers. Total Fail.

It has been a wonderful experience; friendly staff that actually care about us and worked with us to resolve technical issues with an existing bike, helped us with warranty claims, ordered us a new bike (just ordered a second) and generally took great care of us. Just bought my first bike here. I know jack about bikes. The staff was laid back, but very helpful. Everyone else in the store (customers and staff) seemed to be very heavily into the bike world, but I still felt welcomed. Also got the hook up on deals. Highly recommended. A bearded bloke by the name of Andrew is the one I worked with most.

Bought a new bike for my wife last month at the EP store and we’ve been very impressed with the quality and friendly, helpful service after purchase. We brought her bike back a few times for adjustments and customizing and they’ve been willing to take the time to talk it through. Also a good sign: salesperson talked me out of buying an accessory and just suggested a cheap and easy fix. Honesty like that isn’t a given these days! We will come back next time we have a bike purchase to make.

I love Freewheel, theyre my go to shop in town. Theyre knowledgeable and friendly, and dont make me feel out of place if Im not lyrcra clad and putting in 100s of miles each week. Their maintenance rates are also pretty reasonable. Avoid peak busy time though, if youre dropping off for service. In the spring, expect to wait nearly 2 weeks for a tune-up.
