I purchased a Seadoo ski from Edgewater Powersports on July 4, 2020. The ski was exceptionally clean and did run at the shop with no issues at the time of purchase. I was assured it was meticulously maintained as it had only 69 hrs on it and looked great.The following day I took the ski out and noticed it was cavitating very badly and unable to do much other than rev out when accelerating.Noting the ski was not working correctly I brought it to my mechanics shop soon after where it was discovered the prop and surrounding wear ring were in bad shape. After the pump was removed it was found to be cracked and also discovered the driveshaft was severely rusted and swelled up near the carbon ring. The water intake grate was broken, the carbon seal bad, and the fuel pump was so clogged Im amazed it even ran at first, it died as we pumped out the disgusting fuel tank.My mechanic was so put off by the numerous items he even followed up with the owner directly via text on the spot sending several pictures in disbelief. While we did receive an Im sorry, I had no way of knowing response via text, here I sit two weeks later out an additional $1,600 in parts alone to repair what was sold to me as a mint ski that needed nothing.While the owner stated he would see what he could do to help we have heard nothing back. I assumed just maybe he would offer to help out with these items in good faith since he owns a repair business and was the one who sold me the ski. Since I have heard nothing back I am summarizing my experience so that others avoid what I have had to deal with.Monies Spent- Pump $499, prop $250, driveshaft $260, Carbon ring, retainer, driveshaft cover $99, Fuel Pump & filters $89, Fuel Pump Sending Unit $69 along with all new bolts and hardware.Do yourself a favor and avoid doing business with Edgewater Powersports.
