Friendly staff that is very attentive when asked and knowledgeable. Very modern design and very cleanly.
Nice place, it has good selection of books, however they did not have the specific book I was looking for, nor was it in the system.
Helpful Staff, Well organized and easy to find stuff.. Has wonderful kitchen with decent menu plenty of space
Great Place at the Galleria. With the restaurant and a great space. Is a shame we dont have more of them.
The restroom was seriously top notch. Havent read a book in 7 years.
Stumbled upon this gem and wow! The food is most excellent and the service impeccable! Whoever knew a small restaurant inside of a bookstore could be so amazing! They even have little etch a sketches for kids to curb boredom. The plancha cooked salmon is incredible and Im not even much of a fish person. Stop by before or after getting some books and you wont be disappointed.
Very nice customer care show me where the book I wanted was quickly
Love the new modern style and the food is quiet good actually. Breakfast burrito is probably the best breakfast burrito Ive had. Spring pasta was fantastic and so was their burrata. I do enjoy my hypertension so things could use a bit more salt, but overall there times Ive gone, amazing. Bookstore itself is nice and open and the staff are helpful and appear to like the atmosphere.
This is conveniently located right inside the Galleria. There are only two locations that have a second floor shop, this being one of them. They also have a train set for the kiddos to play at while your order a cup of joe.Update: Recently remodeled. All lower level with a actual kitchen. The layout is much more modern and simple concept. The kids area has been limited. Its as if your walking into a fancy library.
Very friendly staff, the person who was at the registers was incredibly helpful and even brought me to where they found my book so I could see of we had more that I needed. Very pleasant experience and even though its about 35 minutes from my apartment, I will be making the trip here for my book needs. I wish I would have got her name but whoever you are you made my experience very enjoyable.
A treat to visit. Loved it so many books not enough time!
Fun store, the little corners turn out to be larger and more multitudinous than you would have expected.... but their poetry shelf is lacking in chutzpqh.
Very clearly marked lines for checking out. It doesnt feel very cramped. For being all on one level it sure feels spread out and big. If youre driving, I find that its easiest to access the store from the parking area near the center of the Galleria. The parking that is covered by the mall itself. That will give you lower level mall access.
Easy to find what I wanted and have a huge selection of books
This store is a bit smaller than other B&Ns, and parking can be kind of tricky, but they have a nice cafe area and the staff has always been friendly!
Big location that can be a bit much of looking for one specific item. The book I was looking for they had a few options but not what I was looking for. I also tried to find a magazine that was not at this location.
Relaxing place to browse books and easily disconnect and get lost in your thoughts. Staff is very helpful and easy to find, all the while theyre willing to let you be when you are doing okay.
Enjoyed Holiday shopping in-person. Plenty of hand sanitizer. People were socially distancing without asking. Easy to maneuver the store and find gifts for the readers and music lovers on my list. Staff were friendly, ensured my questions were answered, and offered insights to books I was curious about. Solid and safe shopping experience.
Very helpful staff for finding unique gifts for avoid readers.
I love this new location. it feels even more cozier and quieter than the other one.
This place here is very decent
I was NOT at Barnes & Noble Zin the past year ‼️
Clean, big selection, had all the Jocko willink books and Jordan Peterson. So Im happy
Arrived at 6:55PM. Store already had their gate half closed. Store still had 6+ other visible customers inside. Attempted to enter store and was stopped by a middle aged white man and informed that the store closed at 7. He made a point of looking at his watch dramatically and stating that it was now 7.
Seems more focused on multimedia than books
Great place for fun Christmas gifts. And of course an excellent selection of books. So glad theyre still open!
Was greeted the moment I walked in, and lead to what I was looking for. The staff was amazing!!
They got books n stuff
Great costomer service and wider veriety of books!
This is my favorite Barnes & Noble, I frequented many before, but this one is my favorite. Its close to where I live. Mainly, I like it because it has many of the odd-podge books 📚 Im looking for, in the store.
Very nice store. clean easy to find different books
Small, but well managed greeting card selection.
When Jaime was the manager, things were great. I will not go to this location anymore. Customer service is awful. The Uptown location is better!
Like the atmosphere. You can get coffee and food. Friendly staff.
This is a good-sized B&N with lots of parking nearby. Its also attached to the Galleria so you can get to it many different ways. Plenty of selection for books and magazines. No place to really hang out and read, though. Staff has always been very helpful and kind.
Wasn’t sure what to expect from a restaurant in a bookstore?! Was it just an afterthought? Would it be good quality? The burger at Barnes & Noble kitchen was GREAT but the service from Sierra was even better! She is a very attentive, friendly, a genuinely happy person. Service is everything.
Well organized, staff very friendly and helpful
Its a bookstore, what do you want me to say about it, they have books.
The workers were super kind!
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Great place to find a good read
Very helpful
I tuck my time shopping for spiritual books and they called the security, i spend over 100$, I certainly don’t look homeless or my kids. My kids even bought God books, I didn’t know that taking your time Choosing a book was a crime, Ohh well maybe it was a race thing ? But I have to say their customer service was good. No bad review on that very nice
Great place to get books and eat at their amazing cafe!
I’m so happy that this place is still up and running. They have a wide variety of books and more, as well as a nice restaurant spot. Perfect for reading and drinking a glass of wine. Also a nice spot to sit and eat a quality lunch. One of my favorite places to be.
This has been a go to for visits with my parents. The food is great, they have the best potatoes in the world! The kids can run off and look at books while the adults chat and enjoy a drink.
I like shopping & browsing at Barnes & Noble because of the calm, comfortable atmosphere & the interesting mix of items for sale. Love the books, toys, calendars, & the cookies are wonderful! The staff is helpful. Its a great place to hang out for people of all ages.
Very helpful and polite people
Nice place
Nice but I dont understand why the restaurant in there is like a cloth napkin deal. Those tables could be used for me to study at. Who goes to Barnes and Noble for fine dining?
Love this place absolutely wonderful customer service ❤
I was sad to see the old Barnes go (since it was my favorite one in the Cities), but change happens and the new restaurant sounded interesting. So, I finally visited the new store. It was a BIG disappointment. It is very industrial, sterile and not cozy in the least (I dont hate that look usually, but it doesnt work in a bookstore atmosphere, in my opinion). It definitely does not look like a place I want to come to and spend any time to look through/buy books. The store is at least 1/2 the size it was if not smaller (you now have only 1 floor instead of 2, and the restaurant/cafe takes up a large amount of that space.) The childrens department is about 1/4 of what it used to be. The other areas are all smaller as well. I did not try the restaurant so I cannot speak to that. I will try the restaurant/cafe in the future as maybe that is worth stopping in for. But if they are trying to retain customers with this new atmosphere versus them shopping online, I think you get a fail on that. I will have to search out the more cozy older Barnes to now get my bookstore fix.
Bright space with segments, tables, and a kid play section. Lovely cafe. Not an old school looking kinda book store any more. It is cool and modern. Smaller collection but the kids section is pretty big, and the bestsellers are very affordable. Since I love paper books, I want to make sure it survives...
Very nice location!! I miss the old B & N that had 2 levels, that was great! This is a smaller but nice store. Relaxing & comfortable.
This is a brand new store in 2017 and it shows. Well planned and easy to navigate. I bring my kids to the oversized kids’ section regularly and its hard not to buy them books because they get so immersed in reading here. Stop by Saturdays for readings by staff or authors. Call ahead to confirm the time! The staff are also fantastic, aren’t they at all though?
I am very disappointed in the remodel of this Barnes and Noble location. The store seems much smaller and more open than before. It has lost its quiet cozy feeling that was so wonderful in a book store.
Awful store layout, you have to cut through the line for the cash registers to get to the second half of the store and to reach the restrooms. The design was poorly thought out.Redeeming qualities: cashier was nice and floor assistant was helpful (but blunt).
I found the new store bright and welcoming. The new location, open spaces and flexible displays are great improvements. Also like seeing more book covers facing out rather than just book spines. The restaurant is a great addition. Staff members are helpful and seem invigorated by the changes.
Peaceful bookstore with coffee shop, relaxing and peaceful.
Definitely miss the old store, but the new does just fine! Has a fresh new modern look with good vibes
What a nice surprise to find terrific food and good books in one place. Barnes and Noble have both at this location and it is recommended.I will come again.
Great store! Larger than usual selection and a really nice childrens book and toy section. They have a B&N Kitchen with excellent burgers, salads and good wine and beer offerings. The cookies are mammoth. 😉
Obviously a great selection of options for your reading particulars. There were some good sale prices on some recent releases.Always a comfortable place for a cup of coffee or tea and dessert. It has been a family favorite for decades. I always look forward to a quick pop-in to browse, and leave later than planned.
B & N Kitchen is a hidden gem. Skip the wait at Good Earth and eat here. We had friendly and efficient service. Avocado toast with soft scrambled egg is delish! Good, strong coffee, too. Recommended.
This is a beautiful book store! Super friendly and helpful staff. And the restaurant is a hidden gem . Eating and shopping for books is such a fun little excursion.
Very helpful staff.
Barnes & Noble Kitchen is a wounderful hidden gem. Very nice & helpful staff (Sierra was great) Food is very good, interesting drink list with local beers & they have compostable leftover containers. Had a relaxing break in the middle of Holiday shopping.
A very unappealing space. Concrete floors, over bright lighting, harsh look, loud space. The old store was very appealing for browsing and exploring. This place has no charm and certainly doesnt feel like a bookstore. They seem more concerned with promoting the food, which is not what Im looking for in a bookstore. A much smaller selection of books and many other things are just gone. They still have vinyl, but otherwise there is no real media content. A flawed concept store. The location is convenient, but Id rather travel further for a better bookstore feel and book selection.
Quite the surprise finding such a delightful restaurant inside of a bookstore! The menu is wholesome and well executed. They have some great drink choices, and the decor is beyond charming.
Restaurant -- A pleasantly calm and welcoming atmosphere! Every staff member I interacted with yesterday (11 April 17) was genuinely warm, informed, prompt and accommodating. My high expectations for the Brisket, Cheddar and Egg breakfast burrito I ordered were exceeded and then some!Bookstore -- The new store and layout is a delight! I loved the old one, but this one has already grown on me!
Good selection. Looks like a fun place. Has food available.
Super nice store in a very nice mall. Many people walking around to help. Long line to check out but they made it fast and kept it moving. Will be back
I like hanging here when Im in Edina. I love book stores and we had lunch in their cafe. The ladies who worked there actually knew how to work, they were moving and were all over us for orders, drinks and check. If you want to work on your computer this is a good place to go.
A high-end Barnes and Noble with spacious design and a wide selection of books, with many tables making good and interesting recommendations that might not otherwise be on your radar. Good location and parking, overall a very pleasant experience for a Barnes and Noble with a distinctive design and feel compared to most of them in the Midwest. A fun stop.
We ate dinner here last night with a large group of 8. It was delightful; our food was fantastic, and the beer and wine selection was surprisingly good for such a small spot. The brisket burger was to die for, and we also enjoyed the guacamole. The highlight of the meal for all of us was the fried potatoes. Conversation around how the cook made them continued all the way home. The manager kindly comped us all 4 desserts on the menu (not needed, but so appreciated!) and we enjoyed every one of them. The peach cobbler was our favorite, although the bread pudding was a close second. We will definitely eat there again!
I really like the way this B & N a set up. The Kitchen /Cafe has wonderful food. Their hummus is the best Ive ever had! You can get coffee, tea, lattes and chai in the Cafe. The bookshelves are set up in alcoves with lots of comfortable seating. It is a very inviting place to browse for books or to meet with friends for food. The waitstaff in the Kitchen are very helpful. Most times they have even boxed up my leftovers for me!
I have to say B&N, you have impressed me with your cafe. The decor, the seating arrangement and your menu was fantastic. I would have never imagined a bookstore providing a menu like this. We loved every bite and enjoyed the ambiance which complimented our consultation and conversation needs. The servers were really well informed amd confident in helping us order our items. I want to believe that you did your homework when staffing your cafe. They were professional and prompt. I wish you had more items for kids to choose from. The only struggle about this place is finding parking. Its definitely a popular and hip place to have some family time or work from. I would love to come back here and work/read.
Great little secret restaurant here! All the waitresses were so warm and welcoming. A little bit noisy because of the hard floors and quite crowded because of the garden show.
Had the avocado toast with an egg. It was delicious. Very comfortable seating, attentive and gracious wait staff. Plus you have that wonderful bookstore right on the other side of the wall.
I love this place to read and buy. Good cafeteria to have snacks and relax.
Its just another Barnes and Noble. Only issue is parking which is nearly impossible. Just go to the one in Mall of America and save yourself the stress, hassle, and the windy long walk 3 blocks away where the closest parking is.
Since there are a million books at the Edina store, I wondered whether I would find the exact books I was looking for. There is a substantial amount of labeling of the shelves by type of book, with books arranged as youd expect them to be in each label. In addition, some books are found in more than one place, especially new releases, and there is a customer service desk straight in from the entrance. The customer service people are knowledgeable and have computer assistance. They told me in exactly which section Id find the book I wanted, then took me there. The checkout team was equally helpful, speedy and pleasant.
Such a unique location and the restaurant is wonderful! I I love the midcentury modern decor. The employees have always been kind and helpful.
Good place to read books relaxation wave is just there but you cant customize your Starbucks drick
Not the same Barnes and Noble of years ago, now its relocated to the ground floor only, and is called a Barnes and Noble Kitchen. Still has a good selection of books, albeit smaller. Some of the Google photos are still of the former, two level, store.
It is hard to find a good bookstore these days and this location still remains a very reliable one to visit. They have a new restaurant concept in house that we have tried once and need to try again. We were looking for several particular periodicals and found that they had them all. A successful trip that saved us time versus an online purchase.
Great friendly service. So knowledgeable! Fun place to take grandkids.!
My family would always come here when I was very little. Not so much when I got older. But: Wed read our books, drink our Starbucks drinks, chat with family or friends, browse our electronic devices, etc. and have a good time!
Amazing food and perfect sized portions. The food is prepped fresh, flavorful, and presentable. Our server, Jackie, was fantastic. Plus, all of the books Barnes N Noble has to offer. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a family night, date night, or casual night.
Ill always miss the old Barnes and Noble, but I also have to admit that the new design is growing on me. They have a great selection of books, helpful staff, and the restaurant is a wonderful addition!
I like coming here for lunch meetings from time to time. A colleague and I were seated at a booth while we waited for a third person to show up. When the server asked to take our food order we ordered drinks and desert as we had already eaten lunch and were just meeting for coffee. She asked us to move to the countertop to leave our table for customers who wanted to order lunch. I explained that our third person was planning on ordering lunch but she still asked us to move. I refused her request. Our third showed up a few minutes later and ordered lunch. I should note that there were three other booths near us that were open and there were no customers waiting. In fact, two of those three booths were never filled while we were there.
Huge store and selections plus my loves of books and writing.
The burger was tasty the accompanying potatoes were so so. The coffee is smoky at best and my latte was bitter. I think its a bit over priced for what they are selling. If you dont mind paying $16 for a burger and $14 for a salad then this place if fine.
I miss the old B&N. It was sprawling mess, but it was cozy and inviting. The new place feels like an over grown airport bookstore. Inventory is drastically reduced, no more board games, the young readers area is drastically smaller. I guess I should have been supporting places like wild rumpus much earlier, but at least the remodel has pushed me to it now.
