Amazing work staff were friendly and answered all questions, as well the price we were given was a lot more affordable then most places we looked at. We had our Dodge 2018 set up from head to toes and it sounds amazing! We scheduled day of installation took a few hours and before we drove off they took the time to answer any maintenance questions. Will be going back to take my other car to get a better sound.... recommend this place very much 👌

One of very few trustworthy and skilled audio shops in San Diego. They’ll get you taken care of and install a stereo without ruining your car’s wiring harness. Lots of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto options. Get rid of that tape deck aux cord already.

I came into their shop this morning (April 26th, 2021) and had upgraded my Kicker speakers, and tweeters to an upgraded version and it sounds phenomenal!!! The installation tech was very professional at what he did for me. I even gave him a $25 tip. I wish I could of given him more. I also want to thank Alex and Ahmad for always giving me a great deal, as I have been buying audio equipment from them for several years and I have always been happy with the results!!! Initially was really happy with the outcome of the $2000 system in my new car until I realized what a horrible mess they left all over the interior of my car from the window tinting. Super unprofessional to stain and ruin multiple areas inside my BRAND NEW car. Pretty disappointing not to mention more $$$ out of my pocket to have the inside cleaned professionally due to their screw up.

I have been going here for a while. Alex has tinted two of my cars and has helped family members and friends with stereos and tint. As for issues, any that I have had he has worked with me to resolve in a timely manner. I.E. bubbles in tints etc. I know you cant please everyone and I know everyone has a bad day, but I dont understand the negative reviews when it comes to Audio Shack. Me personally I contacted audio shack through yelp, because of the reviews they have and I have not been disappointed yet. But in all fairness like I said before people have bad days. Rather its the customer or the person behind the counter. Either way to those who were not satisfied Im sorry but to the persona behind the counter, sometimes you cant please them all.. ( or maybe you had a bad day as well.)lolAll in all, my two cents are these guys are pretty good. But dont get me wrong if I got screwed I would definitely update this but so far Im thankful and I have worked with Alex enough, that I feel if there was an issue he would do his best to resolve it and I feel he would be that way with you within reason of course. #Imhappywithmytint!

Zack really took care of me, got a new deck, amp and 12 in kicker for a really good price and same day installation. Had one issue with how the box was sitting in the trunk and he hooked me up and threw in some dynamite for the license plate rattle!!

Went in to have a double din installed. The guy talked to me like I was an idiot. Definetly a very poor salesmen. If he only knew how much money was in my pocket. Lost a great customer.

Originally I had my system done somewhere else and the place that I did my system at didnt do the job right. A couple months after they did it my system went out. I came to audio shack to see if they could fix it and they went beyond what I was expecting. Alex the manager gave me a better sounding system and for a decent price. I left as a very satisfied customer and will be returning for any additional work that I want done on my car. I do not recommend. I recently spent a lot of money here and very disappointed in the products and service. Nothing but issues form the car stereo, lights, and window tint bubbling all garbage. Alex will sell you a dream with unnecessary equipment not needed. Installed headlights that malfunctioned and almost killed my family on the freeway at night. Now its time to get legal. Awful products and service. Find a better business. I wish i could give them no stars. Very disappointed and had to pay another shop to fix all the issues.Ernest

I went there because my razor speakers were not working loud. The manager Alex said he knew exactly what the problem was. He sold me cables and said it would solve the problem. I called him and said they didn’t work and asked for a refund. He said no problem just bring them back. Came back and he said no refund only credit. He is a liar. I was going to bring my razor to him to fix but I don’t deal with businesses that lye and cheat customers. Beware.

I’m a rare 5 star reviewer. I reserve it for moments of consumer joy where the eco not only satisfied me but was also a positive experience. This shop is not top of the line and in some ways won’t me some people’s expectations for perfection but I also know that perfection comes with a higher price. I had an alarm I purchased on amazon installed by these guys. No reluctance in working with customer merchandise where som places will refuse to install what they have not sold. It was an item they sold and was unopened though to be clear. While planning this install I decided to upgrade stereo have my old infinity amp installed and purchased as sub from Audio Shack. All of this was done along with carbon tint for my windows. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to any jobs I do or have done and am rarely satisfied but in the end it al looks good and works. I still need some alarm tuning but that’s normal with sensitive systems. A competitor down the rod saw my receipt and went on to say they ripped me off and that the items I purchased were outdated and that he would have sold them to me at half the cost. One might think”hmm “ but I first noticed that none of those products were on his shelves. 2nd I check online and ever speaker and part they sold me was within dollars of other online sources. Like beat buy and amazon. So I got person service. Great conversation and great treatment by audio shack. I love going to the local shop as often as I can and this time paid off. Small shops can make mistakes especially when overwhelmed with high customer traffic but they were open to any adjustments or customer questions and concerns and in the end everything I asked about turned out to be taken care of already. Stopped in on a whim to ask about a head unit install on my truck along with front and rear cameras. Alex and Abdullah were both extremely helpful, reasonable and willing to make sure the job was done right. I added a subwoofer to the whole set up and everything was done within budget. The stereo sounds great and they were grateful for the business, as much as I was grateful for their great service. I highly recommend this place.

Not much to say about this place. The guy I met while I was there was initially helpful. They didnt have what I needed to get my radio installed, so he referred me to a place down the street (which was nice of him) but then immediately started talking very bad about them saying how they rip people off and so on. That left a bad taste in my mouth. If youre going to compete with anyone, dont try to destroy their reputation. I will not be returning to this place. (The place he referred me to was very helpful and not once did they try to upsell me on anything I needed) Audio shack needs to get their morals straight before they become a very successful business.

Zack helped me out when I came in to get my car radio fixed, it ended up just needing to be reset so no replacement or labor was needed! Even though I didnt need to buy anything or get service, Zack definitely earned a loyal customer so I will be returning when its actually necessary!

Had one 2000 Ford vehicle CD player repaired-replaced, had another 1992 Chevy vehicle Cassette player repaired-replaced plus 4 new speakers. No issues, good place.

Alex and Jeff know their products. In a no pressure way they provided me options to replace my stereo system (which was broken beyond repair). They fit me with a system that I could afford, and still have quality sound. They have since helped me with learning the system when I could not figure out the directions.I was also fortunate to catch them on a not too busy day, and they were able to tint all my windows. Their prices are very competitive.I highly recommend this place for window tinting and audio systems.

Very poor costumers service and very cheap work. Also it’s very expensive. I did my rear view camera installation to my Mercedes. They installed one on amazon cost $26 they charged me $250 with very ugly camera on the back of my car. They promised to change it and they never did. Not recommended

Frustrating.... Ive had 3 stereos installed in 3 different vehicles. Every time Im ready to close the deal, Im told its one price and right before he rings me up/ runs my card he will say actually its this much... bumping the price up no less than 50 or 60 bucks. Ridiculous. On top of that, I had all new audio equipment installed in my main vehicle, one week later the entire system stops working and they tried to blame me...?? Horrible. The neatness of the wiring is sloppy as can be and my vehicle has loose wires dropping all over under the dash. The installation was far from professional. I will not be returning for any reason. I wouldnt even trust them to make things right after witnessing first hand how their installer treats people vehicles and property.

I had tint added to back of car, looks good, but took 3 separate trips in, and took over 9 hours to get it done. Then they lost car keys which took another hour to figure out where they are.

These guys by far are absolutely amazing . when i walk into the doors of this business they all treat me like family from salesperson omar to store owner alex and to installer adan the atmosphere and quality of work is pristine . they installed a full sound system in my dodge durango with back up camera apple car play wireless and android auto mirror im allow to play you tube videos straight off my radio video and sound wireless which is amazing . Fantastic customer service. They gave me a great deal with awesome products. They even helped me out when I chose a complicated system (JVC) which was awesome but had too many options to safely operate and drive haha so I went back and I decided to get a better but more simple Sony XAV-AX5000 which is AWESOME and goes great with the Cerwin Vega 12 subs they installed! They understood what I actually needed and worked with me to swap it out at a discounted price including installation! Check these guys out if you want quality products, lifetime installation warranty and great customer service. I will be back to get my girlfriends car hooked up and my car tinted because I know these guys wont do me wrong. Two huge thumbs up!

Quoted $75.00 to check out radio antenna. Installed said they unplugged antenna and reset radio.....works now. Cashier said they ran a new antenna wiring and charged me $250.00. Really took average of a veteran on 100% disability....DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM

Went in for window tint. 10 windows for 300 bucks. I went to 3 other shops in El Cajon, they were all around the same price. Every window but one small wing window had bubbles in it. One of the shades of tint that went on my front roll up windows had defects in the film itself. Installer also cut my door seal. When I told him about it they backed away from the accusation immediately. They spun it back on me. They are not fixing it. So, Im fuc*ed. My car was only two weeks old when it went into them. I bought it brand new from Penske Ford. My advice to anyone, take before photos so you dont get stuck with no proof and a repair bill...

I had never been to this business before. I have an older pickup with an aftermarket single-din radio that had failed. Not wanting to be without news and information, I needed it replaced quickly. And it meant that I was NOT planning to spend a lot of money or buy a fancy or entirely new sound system, but that is what stores like this ultimately hope you will do. That is how they stay in business (understandable).The first thing I encountered after telling them that I simply wanted the radio replaced with something comparable was the upselling. And I expected that. I had to convince the person there that I was not interested in a super-fancy radio that would cost me hundreds BEFORE installation. What saved the experience with this business was that the tech performed the routine replacement in under an hour and he let me chew the fat with him while he did it which made the wait go by quickly. I spent about $190 (including $30 installation) for a basic radio replacement. I later discovered that I could have bought the exact same radio on EBAY for $45 with free shipping. But I paid for the convienience of instant replacement service.And then I discovered that the radio does not have a power switch!!! They did not warn me about that. How dumb!!! Because I wanted the radio to work without the key on, I have to pop out the faceplate off to shut off the radio. Very disappointing but I guess that is common with autosound nowadays (lets go back to two-shaft radios). Constantly popping the faceplate off will probably cause the unit to fail sooner rather than later.Overall, a reasonable experience with a business I had never been to before. I would recommend this place so long as the potential customer knows that the upselling is part of the buying experience. Thank you!
