This place is very nice and has a great selection of prepared food. Has many options. Today I enjoyed the delicious Peruvian chicken soup, It was amazing!!!

Chili was horrible. I will give more information upon the request from this establishment. The beans were not cooked completely although everything else was maybe over cooked. Maybe beans were added too late. But that being said the rest of it was mushy and hard to discribe . Also apparently just to mention my friend of whom was having lunch with me felt uncomfortable there. He is a person of color. I would like to drop this in the bucket and move on. I will say it is a clean place and in a good location. I would say that the menu is limited and didnt try everything obviously. Also it is a bit confusing on where to pay,sit, and such. Hopefully this helps answer any questions for the establishment. I will personally not be returning but not because the chili for which was horrible

I was disappointed that during this current November 2020 COVID surge that the El Cerrito Annex store is not following CDC guidelines and using one door as an exit and one as an entrance. The rear of the store is pretty crowded and few people are mindful of keeping a safe distance from each-other, which I know the store cannot control nor should they be expected to, but they could have made things safer for their employees and customers. I love shopping here, I usually do 1-2x a week, but will probably not return until after COVID. I hoped for more planning from the store’s managers.

Forced to shop here when items arent available elsewhere, but its way overpriced. I accidentally bought an egg sandwich for $7

My name is Justin. I worked in the prepared foods for 3 years. And I will say, working there was one of the best work experiences of my life. All memories and fun I shared with my coworkers, all my customers that I miss soo much, I just miss working there. I miss the beef bourguinon, Peruvian food, veggie enchiladas, love the fried rice, love the mushroom soup, pot pie soup, corn chowder, i miss the bakery foods and i lovvvvve the lemon cookie ice cream. I miss this place 😊

I went to the annex with my friend for lunch, with the idea that we would get a salad from the salad bar. Thats exactly what we did. While there wasnt much of anything out of the ordinary in the salad bar, it was adequate and fresh. Probably the most interesting thing for me was the people watching, as all manner of interesting types came in to eat or purchase items from the various sections, such as Bakery, sandwiches, salad, Etc

Cool little addition to the market. I havent tried the hot bar yet but the beer/beverage selection is superb. Cafe staff friendly and helpful. Clean bathrooms.

A local gem. Everything in the prepared foods annex is organic and delicious. They have something for everyone. Vegetarians, vegans, carnivores. The hot food bar continually offers up a hearty, healthy home-cooked meal. The salad bar is top-notch. Theres a juice bar. Coffee, teas. Beer and wine. Flowers. Chair massage in site. If they added a fitness center Id probably just move in. Love this place! Oh and did I mention the grocery store next door also rocks?

Excellent place for food and drinks. The parking lot is always a mess and it can a little chaotic inside but for the most part it is tolerable. The craft beer and wine selection is excellent.

Excellent prepared food bars with hot food, sandwiches, pizza, smoothies, coffee bar, salad bar, etc. Gluten free options are well marked (as well as dairy free, vegetarian, vegan). There is a separate, equally sized counter around the corner for vegetarian prepared hot foods and cold salads. They have gluten free bread for sandwiches, and gluten free lasagna. Also almost everything is organic, and very reasonably priced. In addition to the food selection, there is a great wine and beer shop area, as well as a beautiful floral selection (though the flowers are a bit pricey compared to other supermarkets like Berkeley Bowl or Trader Joes, but then again the Annex has a much nicer and higher end selection). Also their greeting cards from local artisans on the stand near the food cash register is fantastic - perfect place to get flowers, wine and a card in one stop - or to just get a fast and reasonably priced organic hot meal. We love our local Annex!

This place is definitely not cheap, but the people are nice and I can often get several days worth of food in their boxes. Veggies are definitely tasty. Theres also a chair massage parlor in the back.

Was very surprised with this place for a quick lunch. Good deli and bakery. Thats all Ive tried, but they also seem to have good looking hot food, salad bar, floral shop, wine and beer selection.

Super expensive, I bought nothing but hey still great quality stuff. I may be coming back for duck legs! They also have some local cheeses that are $28 per round but hey, its still local! They do have great quality goods and an ample bulk section. Kombucha on tap as well! Next door you can get prepared foods from different types of cuisines.

Someone reviewed the fresh ready to eat food as bland. I am reviewing the food as delicious and seasoned perfectly. Whoever reviews it as bland probably eats too much fast food or lots of salt/sugar, because that in turn makes healthy eating appear bland, compared to the excessively flavored junk food.I come to have dinners here every other week and always devour my plate because it tastes like a well home made meal.

Small selection of hot food....but everything I has there was really good....I liked there scones and the blueberry bread pudding muffin was really good heated up.

You saved my life today.Here is my story of how you did...Before I came in today, I was dealing with a chronic illness flare up and was bedridden all day. I decided to get up and try and find some food. It took everything I could to muster enough energy to get out of bed. I look online and decide I should check out this place. I walk in and I was confused on where to go. I found Daneisha. This woman greeted me with a smile as if I just saw my best friend. She looked directly at me and interacted with me as if I had known her for years. The best customer service experience I have ever had. I asked a TON of questions about gluten free and dairy free options, and as patient as she was, she listened and helped me. We decided to go with a sandwich and she said she was going to make it personally! I pulled her aside and told her that I was having the worst day but she made it so much better. Today, I was thinking life was meaningless and hopeless. I was thinking...does anyone even notice me? Do I matter to anyone? My illness has gotten bad and so it hit me hard today. But you...you saw me Daneisha. You finished my sandwich and came around the corner and gave it to me. You gave me a hug and told me to come back. Youre there all the time. I left with tears in my eyes because I felt seen, heard, and that my existence mattered. Thank you Daneisha for this absolutely unforgettable experience. YOU MATTER!!!

Hi. Ive come here a lot for the cuisine but the ppl behind the counter are terrible at customer service.There were so many people by the cash register not one person came to help until this young man who walked in an finally asked if i needed help. All the ladies they saw me an didnt bother to ask if i needed assistance. At the cash register employees were standing by the coffee machine an some talking about I dont know what than finally someone ask if i have been helped again. I DO NOT LIKE THE WAY THESE EMPLOYEES ARE TRAINED.They need to act professional.

This place was an absolute treat. Everything from beautiful flower arrangements to yummy ice cream, not to mention the pizza and great sandwiches. If you cant find something here to satisfy you, you probably just cant be satisfied.

I like to eat here, the salad bar had good dressings and their greens are always fresh. They have ready made food you grab n serve yourself but the items dont rotate at all..it is always the same good items. Within the same food court they have a bakery, cafe, and deli. So you can alway leave with desset for later in the night.

I come here almost every day to fuel up before work.

Mr. Deweys ice cream is served here. I love it.

I love their vegetable curry at the hot bar.

Annex has Excellent vegan and organic food options. No wifi which means it isnt crowded. Lots of natural light.

If they have the Beef Bourguignon on offer and you dont get it, Ill never speak to you again.Salad bar, pizza, vegetarian and vegan choices hot or cold, good coffee drinks, its a hofrau for millennials.
