Nice big clean store. You can find great bargains here. I always get asked if I need help out with my bags-- if I have alot of groceries. The staff are super friendly. My shopping experience here is always great. Oh and get this, they have the tiny shopping carts for your little ones! So neat.

I was the only one asked to show receipt as I was walking out. I Feel offended. Is it because Im not white like all other shoppers? Or is it your not doing your job. You just didnt see me pay and assume things. Bad bad shopping experience this time 8/12/2021 9:55pm.

Most of the food at this store is not fresh. Im going to start with the meat department in the back most of the meat is not fresh it looks Brown and stale. Also I bought chicken in the deli department and I didnt notice it had mildew stains on the bottom of chicken breast and chicken thighs. I took it back in there for a refund. Also I noticed that they put old chicken on top of new chicken. Also in the cold session with the potato salad and macaroni salad which is old and rotted out chicken salad they barely put any mayonnaise in it which makes it dried out.Anyone can look at their chicken salad and see how rotten and dried out it is I cant believe that they have rotten stale chicken salad. I also noticed that they leave all their code items in a showcase all night and I spoke to a lady their named Teresa once and she told me that they keep all the cold items in the showcase for a week before they even throw it away to make new and fresh items. Who does that is food contamination.Also most of the items in the store are price ridiculously high. And then they have a lot of low price items of everyday low prices. (But the worst food you can buy here is out the meat section in the back and hot and cold food from the deli)ALSO MOST of the BLACK EMPLOYEES that work HERE THEYRE VERY RUDE and LOOK DOWN ON YOU as a piece of TRASH and TALK ABOUT YOU RIGHT in your FACE AND BEHIND YOUR BACK. AND IM BLACK AND THATS SAD TO HAVE BLACK PEOPLE TREATING YOU LIKE THAT. SO ITS JUST NOT THE WHITE PEOPLE THAT WORK HERE ITS JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY THAT WORKS HERE IN THIS STORE IS A BUNCH OF RUDE EMPLOYEES.Even their rotisserie chickens are dried out and taste like wood and I bought a stack of ribs once they also taste like stale wood. Also if you buy any meat in the meat department in the back it will make you sick their meat in the meat and produce sections in the back of store is not fresh you will get sick. ALSO THEY HATE WHEN YOU BRING FOOD BACK THEY LOOK DOWN ON YOU BEFORE they give YOU A REFUND. Also theres other reviewers on here that have had the same problem.

Thats one of my favorite grocery stores to shop. They have good food and good sales. They wipe their shopping carts with sanitizing wipes. Masks are required and social distancing is followed. Its a safe place to shop.

Really clean and their shelves always stocked. Everything easy to find. Fresh produce. Only not too many open registers and the ones open usually cashiers have an attitude. Lady cleaning carts and fighting and screaming to customers.

Store was completely crowded, only two cashiers.Ive never seen the lines this long in the 40 years Ive shopped at luckys.Overall they did their best,not sure whats going on.

This place has always been my second choice, I don’t know why, may be they have limited choice or kind of expensive. But anyway the place is soo huge with almost all the options available. Do visit this whenever you get a chance. For me jar refilling has always been best at luckys

I feel lucky if my frozen food doesnt melt before I get checked out. They used to have signs that said threes a crowd with the implication that theyd open a new checker if the lines get too long. Now its a line across the store is fine, but at least they took the signs down and dont promise prompt service anymore.

All-in-one grocery store, can get almost anything here food-wise. Unfortunately, as of June 2021, they are undergoing a reorganization, so its hard to locate things now.

I had to fuel my ride at Costco. So I grocery shopped at the nearest small grocery store, Lucky (7am opening, Costco 10am-too late). Lucky was great: Large 45 ounce Kombucha ✔, Coconut milk ✔, lots of sausage choices ✔.

A lot of places in the East Bay have gotten pretty pretentious with the progressive gentrification. I really love how they always have great specials, a really extensive selection, and everything from a working class budget to filet mignon.The employees work hard and are down to earth. I kinda laugh a little at the people who leave bad reviews here about Luckys because Im kind of glad that I wont have to shop with them.Im a well paid physician and I the ability to shop anywhere I want. But I like that they continue to target the community they are a part of.#NoKarens

I can only give this place 3 stars because the prices are so high. Compared to Safeway, Luckys has high prices and it sucks because the selection doesnt even compare. Not only that, but they have a singular entrance due to COVID-19 and its kinda problematic. Ill definitely come back once in a while but I just dont get a friendly vibe from the place. I dont know 😕.

Dirty, things arent organized and almost everything in their dairy section was expired. Their veggies were ok.

My husband and I bought some ground beef there after someone from the meat counter told us it was fresh that day, more like freshly repackaged. My household got such bad food poisoning we still feel it weeks later. Asked an employee where the condoments isle was and got a how the f* should I know answer with an attitude to match. I did the survey on the receipt to let them know they responded telling me to take it up with the store.

Usually have what I need, lots of parking, keeping carts wiped down. Staff is friendly.That was 7 months ago. Today, 7/27/21 I saw a man walking around the store with no mask and when I brought it to the staffs attention letting them know the current county mandate in order is to wear a mask, which I had looked up this morning, and it is posted you need a mask while in the store... I was told that is not necessary to wear a mask and any new mandates were not in order at this store. I asked for a manager but one was not called and I walked out. I will not be returning for a while and will shop elsewhere until proper safety measures are followed and the staff is informed of what they should have been enforcing already, and enforcing it. The so called security guard at the door should have not let this person enter to begin with, and my concerns should not have been so quickly blown off.

Cashier not a very nice person, because maybe I look Chinese.

Hadnt been here in a while. This place is huge. They actually had the items I was looking for. Though it felt like a hike to find the correct aisle. On the way I passed lots of products that seemed more like what you would find in a drug store than a grocery store. Shampoo, etc. The self check out was great.

This is a very large store, always well stocked with a wide variety of products in every category.

After shopping here everyday since the pandemic with the same face shield today as I was leaving the manager today me incantations not come into the stor wearing a shield. The odd part is I think if I were in the usual do t bother me routine Im usually in while shopping and not friendly I do t think I would have been hassled about it. Its nothing g to cut luckys off .

Lucky used to be much nice relative to other supermarkets. But now its more run down than others. The 70s and early 80s were the heyday of this place. Its too bad.

I have never been in a supermarket with a less welcoming entrance. There are two sets of shabby, single-person doors, so that people cant enter and exit at the same time, and that lead into dirty, unappealing areas, followed by security gates to enter the actual store. Most other supermarkets greet you with nice flower displays and maybe a little coffee shop, so that it feels pleasant and inviting. Here you can rarely find a shopping basket, and they, like much of the rest of the store, are old and dirty. It doesnt feel like they put any real effort into attracting me as a customer.The only reason Im giving two stars, instead of just one, is that the employees here are mostly very nice and accommodating, and the shelves are generally well stocked with a decent selection of items.

The lady in the Deli, called Michele just made me the best turkey sandwich ever. She went out of her way to do so also. Bless her ❤

Love this store. I always use self checkout, very quick (but no alcohol allowed). They carry Angus beef, which is so much better than most beef found at other stores like Safeway.

Super impressed at yesterdays shopping experience...many shelves oos (SUPER low on paper prods and water) But as I reached towards an empty shelf in the fridge dept the restocker (had his products on the hand truck behind me) offered exactly what I needed...Thanks Joe (I referred to him as a regular Joe turns out thats his name😏)

This store is absolutely ridiculous. Half of the self checkouts are always broken. There is also never anyone monitoring them except security. They want to make sure you don’t steal but forget any kind of customer service.The staffed registers are so few that there is always a line there as well.Shopping in the store is an awful experience and I suggest saving yourself some aggravation. Go to the Safeway like 5 minutes up the street.

Good grocery store. Lots of food options. Produce is good. The specialized butcher area with meat and seafood is excellent. Unfortunately I always seem to come on when there are long lines at the cashier.

Usually have to wait for checking out as there are just a couple full-service lanes than are not express. Self check-out is easy if you have just a few items. Plenty of easy parking.

Found everything I wanted and needed this time

The employees had their mask hanging under their chins and absolutely no one was enforcing the 6 feet of separation rule.

I like Lucky. I used to shop there much more. I wish their prices werent over inflated... because they could be a one stop shop. For me, however, its more of a convenience shop. The prices dont allow for a full shop. Unless you are wealthy or are lucky enough to pay $6 for a smaller box of the same cereal i get, in a bigger box, for $2.50 elsewhere. that is one example. The list goes on.

Great prices & service. The exact same products at 3/4 the price of other groceries. Great selection in general & staff is very helpful finding things & with other tips. Staff will not massage your ego, but you will get through the checkout stand quickly, with great products & fresh foods at a fraction of the cost.

Prices are good but shelves are getting empty

Lucky is open at 10p.m. on a Wednesday night. Is it grim? Yeah. Is it nearby? Nah. Was it open when the sick kid wanted peppermint ice cream? You betcha.

No cashier for the people.

I like the people who work there and I like the grocery offerings. Lucky has a line of frozen sanwiches I like. It is called Sandwich Brothers;the sandwiches are made on pita. Their contents dont fall out.

The prices are far more expensive than trader Joes and Safeway. They never open more than 1 register and you just have to line up and wait. The only good thing is it is close to my house and trader Joes docent open until 8 am or else I would never come here.

This store is HUGE! I thought I was in a walmart for a brief moment... Friendly staff, I cant remember the last time I was at a grocery store, and was randomly asked by an employee if I needed help finding something. But I was here. Honestly, I really appreciated that level of customer service.

Last customer of the night, wow so much help in helping us find everything and get us checked and bagged in no time flat. Definetaly coming next time 15 minutes before closing.

We just came back from there. Chicken is on sale n we bought 2. Approx. 2 Lbs.@. They looked good for the price. Cutting them told a different story. There was more fat than meat. I honestly do not remember ever getting chicken like this before from them. What a disappointment!

Lucky in El Cerrito is clean, the patrons practice social distance.

I went there last time one guy who is at the customer service is very helpful about dealing my money gram stuff for paying my EBMUD bill. When i ask him how to do it he directly told me what to do But at this time it was the lady when I ask her what to do because the money gram thing on the telephone was change and she was not helpful she said she was not going to help me and so i was there keep on dialing and redialing it takes me an hour hopeless and the customer service lady is telling something to the cashier which i don’t know what the heck is about and later on while I’m on the money gram phone the security guard was kind of looking at me and the cashier lady so i just call my husband to not come and buy grocery and used there money gram service because they are not nice i feel that the customer service lady was rude at me. I feel really bad and disappointed.

Not my favorite Lucky’s!!! This store could offer so much more than it does!!!! It’s a lot of wasted space in the store, corporate needs to look into this. There is only two Lucky’s none in the city of Richmond.

I was able to get a case of assorted chips, a fruit salad platter, a veggie platter, and some Cranberry juice cocktail. Nice.
