This review is for the restaurant. Who wouldve thought this market I pass by on a daily basis would have good food. They sell Mexican food everyday and Nicaraguan food on the weekends. However the cocina closes at 4:30.After reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try. The ordering process was a little confusing at first; ordering at the kitchen, paying at the cashier and then going to get your drinks at one counter and handing the receipt back to the kitchen. I figured out my way though.I was excited to see that they had hand made tortillas. I ordered a Hawaiian taco and it was awesome! Very good with the cheese, meat, pineapple and sauce. Also tried a nacatamal which was good too but overwhelming for the size if youre not a good eater. Enjoy!

Since the pandemic I been coming here to get my meats, great service at the Carniceria and the meats have always been great. Recently I tried their ready to cook Pupusas! I can’t believe I waited this long to get them, they are soo good. We grabbed a few bags of them they come in 6 packs and they have Revuelta and Queso. They are a complete hit at my home. Definitely will continue to buy. Also they got a good size vegetable sections and it always look very fresh.

The nacatamales are delicious, big and with a lot if meat unlike other nacatamales you find at other Nicaraguan restaurants / markets.

Pay attention everyone. El Gallito is a Mexican and Nicaraguan establishment located in El Monte. I was coming back from Riverside to Alhambra, and I remember I visited this place a while ago. I have the taste for Nicaraguan food. I went there and wait patiently in line for service. One guy did not great me and said, what can I get you? just nod me in signal that he was ready to help me. I asked for several Nicaraguan plates and he told me we dont have them ready. I just want Gallo Pinto, Tajadas y Queso. Since I love fried Queso, I asked him to give me a second piece. He nicely put me order in a piece of paper, asked me to review to see if he got it right. I nod him back in response of acceptance.He never said to me take the paper go to the register pay and come back with receipt. Not until he packed he told me go and pay.(like if I was supposed to know the payment procedures. To make this short as much as I can. I pay to the lady with me card and got receipt took the food that was left in top of a hot place and left the store.I got home (Alhambra) and start eating and I noticed that it was not a second Queso (paid $3.99). I called the store and told the person whom answer me and said (Sorry, came back now or next time with the receipt and I will either give you the Queso or money back. I told him, I just pay with a card, just check the receipt you have in your register number and the amount pay and re-embosser me the amount. It was IMPOSSIBLE to do so. He wants me to go back. I told him, I only go there once a year when I feel like eating Nicaraguan Food.

I simply love their food. I always get awesome customer service there. The place is well kept and the employees are always helpful. I highly recommend this place.

The food from here is great the only sad part about it is that this place is a money laundering scheme. They only allow you to use a debit card when its $10 and up which is a clear sign of prophet up swelling a money-laundering tactic

This place is located in my neighborhood, I visited regularly, the staff in the kitchen always nice, the food is good, everything is ok with the kitchen, the rudest come from other area, thats why I cant give 5 stars.

I went to CA for a few days and I was looking for a place that have Nicaraguan food.I tried Fresco de Cacao and it was very good, the Nacatamales were awesome!! and huge, was worth the price. I also have some fish tacos that was the especial that day and it was very good.The place was very clean and appealing.I will be back when I go back to CA.

The Nicaraguan nacatamales are from last week they cost 8 dollars each, they bring a pittance, it is more the wrap they put on it and the worst they were cold, what misery the food is very expensive there, we do not recommend going there
