BAIT & SWITCH. An unfortunate Lesson Learned, since we went with CARSTAR only to support a local small business. A private party was paying for damage done to our vehicle. The Auto Mall Collision Center gave us an estimate of $1500. CARSTAR wrote up an estimate for $2050, supposedly padding it on the high side so we would not end up going to the private party for more money and end up coming up short on payment from the private party. CARSTAR assured us because it was on the high side, we could expect to end up paying the same $1500 quoted us from the Auto Mall. When the work was completed, CARSTAR charged us over $2300, now even higher than their supposed overestimated quote used to get our business. Their excuse was the parts were more and they failed to write up that we had two-tone paint. So think about that, we needed one piece of replacement trim and the actual price was higher than the quote from the parts house just earlier that day, even worse was that this is a paint shop who admitted not knowing our car was two-tone paint!?! Sadly, our neighbors later told us that they took two vehicles to Auto Mall Collision Center, both had accurate quotes and they received videos of the work being done so everything was transparent. CARSTAR was 50% higher than the Auto Mall Collision Center. We can never recommend CARSTAR, regardless if we want to support local small businesses. Their tactics left them untrustworthy.

I’m so late writing this review, but this place is so worth it so I figured better late than never. The day before Easter I was involved in an auto accident. I was able to drive my car home so I figured can’t be too bad right? Wrong. When the insurance adjuster called he said the insurance would cover repairs up to $7,000, if it was over that amount, my car would be a write off. He later sent me HIS estimate of $5,000+ which he’d arrived at only from viewing pictures of the exterior of the car, with a note attached saying that number will change once someone actually disassembles the car and thoroughly inspects it. He asked me where I wanted my car to be taken, and having used the CARSTAR in Sacramento once before, I said CARSTAR. I was unaware there was now a second location closer to me in Elk Grove, which is where my car was sent, and honestly I didn’t realize it was a different location until driving out there. Anyway, I was nervous and frankly very upset because I didn’t see how the estimate from the adjuster wouldn’t go way past the $7,000 limit once my car was inspected. So I called CARSTAR and spoke with the very friendly Ashley who answered. As I started to tell her about the price limit on my car repairs and ask if there was any way that anything cosmetic (such as decals) could be the last things considered so the required repairs might not exceed the limit so my car wouldn’t be totaled, I started to lose it and get emotional when I told her how much my car means to me, it’s my dream car that I’ve always wanted and I would be devastated to lose it. She very kindly told me that she would talk with the guy in charge of my inspection and repairs and she’ll call me tomorrow to let me know what the outcome was. I was so scared to hear bad news that when she did call the next day I let it go to voicemail and then refused to listen to it. About an hour later she called my husband and spoke with him and asked me to call her. He wouldn’t tell me what she said. So I nervously called and waited for the phone to be answered, and almost started crying again because I was expecting the worst. Ashley answered and simply asked “We got approval from the insurance, do we have your consent to start the repairs on your car?”! She somehow managed to come in $84 UNDER the $7,000 limit, and still completed EVERYTHING that needed to be fixed or replaced! My car was ready on time and she even stayed late to wait for me to come pick up my car, which looked better than the day I bought it and drove like a dream! I will and do recommend the Elk Grove CARSTAR to anyone and everyone, Ashley is just amazing and takes customer service to a level that’s unheard of in any industry. Thank you Ashley and the rest of you hardworking people at CARSTAR, you kept my dream (car) alive!

I had a semi truck smash up the drivers side of my car and pushed me into another car that messed up my door on the passengers side. I chose these guys to do the estimate for the insurance. From the time I first spoke with Ashley about bringing my car in until I got the bad news that my car was considering my car a total loss from the insurance agent, Ashley has been so nice and helpful that I wouldnt even consider going anywhere else if God forbid I had another accident. She was so on top of everything with contacting the insurance and rental places that it made this horrible experience so super easy. Thank you Ashley. Customer service is lucky to have you, I know its difficult dealing with people who are going through accidents but you made it sooooo much less stressful for me. Till your boss they need to give you a raise!

I live in an area where I have to park on the street, and my car has been side swiped twice this year. Both times I have taken my car to CarStar and they are the best! Their work is very clean and professional. They also work around your schedule to make sure it works for you. They are very personable too! Ashley always remembers me when she calls with updates, and its very friendly. I always enjoy hearing from her.The whole team is top notch, and I definitely reccommend them to anyone who needs any kind of work done!Thanks CarStar team! :)

I first used Premier Auto Body in 2007 for some major body and paint work. They coordinated with my insurance agent and completed the job quickly. Afterwards my insurance agent had high praise for Premier and the owner Chris, as he has had several other clients who had a favorable experience with Premier.Recently I needed some minor repair work done, without hesitation I called Chris, described the problem, and they were able to take my SUV and complete the work same day, in less than 1 hour.No doubt about it, Premier Auto Body is my go-to body/paint shop.

My experience today was very good I felt as if they listened and understood my needs and what I needed done I look forward to a pleasant working experience.

Had a small repair for a side mirror. They prepped everything ahead of time and I was able to drive in and have it replaced while I waited. Good work and locally owned. 👍

I’ve taken my car to be fixed twice now to Chris’ shop and each time has been so quick and painless! They got the job done and kept me in the loop the entire time. They worked directly with my insurance and made the entire process so effortless. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my auto body needs! Highly recommend!

I had the unfortunately experience of having my Ford F-150 involved in two Collisions in two years requiring major repairs to my vehicle. One collisions occurs while we were inside a store shopping.Chris and his company (Premier Auto Body) provided me with customer service far exceeding my expectations. He and his staff worked directly with my insurance company to get my repairs approved. He handled all arrangement with outside entities working on repairing my vehicle (Air bags, windshield replacement, mechanical repairs, etc.) He also arranged for a rental car so that I would have transportation to work while repairs occurred.He really took out the stress and worry out of the whole process.Again, I was totally amazed at the outstanding service provided and highly recommend him and his team.

They did the repairs to my car, and is very pleased with Chris, JR, and Miranda of who I had dealings with. They cleaned the entire car! Im pleased.Thank you!!

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Chris the owner had the NERVE to call my mother and yell at her because our dealership referred us to a different body shop that was almost $1000.00 cheaper than the estimate Chris gave us!!Hey Chris, why dont you come over to the house with your rude macho attitude and try to yell at my mother?? Are you afraid? I DARE you to talk to me face to face!! FYI... I wonder how many referrals youll be getting after I make a complaint to the dealership, to my insurance company, and the better business bureau!!

The customer requested a tow to the shop after 5:30 p.m. when the shop closes at 5:00 p.m. I gave the customer bags for her items and prepared a preliminary estimate. I assisted the customer by letting her use the shop phone to call for a taxi as she was leaving on vacation. The following day her mother called to say that she wanted the vehicle moved to another shop. We had already began to tear the vehicle down to perform the work. Typically we help with the tow if the work is performed by our shop. We tried to help this customer, but she decided to go elsewhere.

Worst body shop ever, the owner does not warranty his work, use cheap paint, and horrible body work, see for yourself . They repair my daughters 2013 BMW from a accident back in APRIL 2016, and now the paint is cracking, peeling, and a closer look reveals a orange peel finish, it looks like it was painted with a can of paint. I contacted the owner, and showed him the horrible job, and he said he would not fix it, because its a result of her driving..We told him, THE paint cracks were only in the areas were he repaired. He said not his problem and walked off..BEWARE, SCAMMER, DONT WARRANTY WORK, WORST PAINT JOB EVER..

The Free towing and car rental displayed on the website is not free. Chris Gurule of Premier Autobody is the most discomforting and stressful person ive ever tried to do business with. I ended up towing my car from his establishment to Andrews in Elk Grove which cost me around $390 total to release while Andrew offered to pay for towing and storage. Save yourself a hassle and just go to andrews.
