This place is just AWSOME! Ryan and his mother Ingrid Powell made sure that our wedding was one to remember. They made us feel like family. Could not ask for better people to help us and in my opinion there is no other place to have an event at.

This place was huge. It had tons of stairs leading everywhere and they were able to keep it cool in 90 plus degree temperature

Dinner was amazing!

The venue itself is nice, but the staff is absolutely horrible. The DJ was annoying as all get out, he would start to play a song and then switch like 30 second into the song. Not just once, multiple times. He also would stop the songs right before the climax. The staff kept bugging the bride about money DURING the reception. They kept stressing her out and pestering her right before her dance with her dad. Would NOT recommend.

This place is historically EPIC! I attended a wedding last spring and was amazed. Beautiful, with an incredible light and sound system. Believe it or not the owner also is a seasoned DJ/MC. To describe him (Ryan - aka DJ Rhino) as personable would be an understatement. Extremely approachable and after only an hour or so I felt like I was hanging out with an old friend. Ask him to tell you about the architect...

I cant begin to describe how amazing our experience was with Ryan and Ingrid. Our wedding was put together in an extremely short notice to accommodate members of our family. You would have never guessed that it was put together in such little time! The venue is beautiful, and a pillar of Elkhart history. Theyve done a fantastic job at keeping their venue in high standards throughout the years.What we had received was far more than a venue and a wedding. Ryan and Ingrid worked around the clock to meet our needs and far exceeded every expectation. They share a genuine knack and heart for service. They did an incredible job at making my fiance and I feel as if we were the most important people on our most important day. Anyone can own a building, but the passion that the Powell family has for making your day memorable is what made our wedding happen so perfectly.Also, Ryan has a pretty great voice and personally sang our spotlight song. The man has some pipes!! He stayed to DJ for us well into the night and played exactly what we liked. It was the best night of my life!

There is not enough words to thank the Powell family for making my daughters wedding perfect. Turnock Hall is a beautiful building we had plenty of time and having the time to set up/pull down fantastic. Ryan made us feel like we were their only concernIngrid was there if we needed anything at all and questions handled quickly. This truly is beautiful, convenient and definitely worth doing a package youll save quite a bit. You will not find anything better.

We were married at Turnock Hall 3 years ago, and it was the best experience! Ryan and Ingrid made the entire process so easy! We originally planned on a September wedding, but found out my grandma was diagnosed with cancer, and we werent sure she would be healthy enough to attend, so we managed to move the wedding up 3 months which left us about 30 days to plan! During this stressful time, I could call Ingrid and she would calm me down and assured me everything would be perfect and it was! At Turnock Hall, they are not in this business for the money. They build relationships, and help create memories. Most recently, Ryan and Ingrid helped my husband put together an anniversary surprise, and again they went above and beyond. We are so pleased we chose Turnock Hall and Formal Affairs for our wedding! Some of the best and most genuine people around! I would absolutely recommend!

I cant possibly express how grateful I am for the wonderful service that Ryan & the staff at the Turnock Hall provided for us before, during & after our wedding & during the reception. 5 stars is not enough to express just how amazing they are. You can either make the choice to spend money with an organization that doesnt care by you further than the amount of money you spend with them or you can do business with Formal Affairs these are the people that you want doing your wedding. before we found formal affairs we were going to be spending almost $17,000 on a wedding we didnt even spend third of that formal affairs. There is no way I could have given my wife the wedding that she truly deserves it wasnt for formal affairs I have been to over 30 wedding in my life and this was the best wedding I have ever been to and that is not because it was my wedding. so do yourself a favor and have your wedding a formal Affairs will be the best decision you ever made.

The people dont address any issues you may have. My nieces money box came up stolen from their wedding reception and the owners like oh well. I fell going out and got a compound fracture and they wont give me a name of insurance company to file a claim. 1 man does DJ, gets food served, makes announvements, etc. Lots of steps to climb to get to hall.

Beautiful venue, and great people to work with. They go above and beyond. As a wedding photographer, On Cue Photography has worked with MANY DJs. By far, in 8 years, Ryan is the best DJ we have worked with to date! Hoping to have the opportunity to work with him again in the future!

This is one of rare and precious finds! The apparel is obviously unlike anything you will find within hundred of miles, but the real difference is in the staff. It is rare in this day-in-age to find a venue that becomes more of an experience, even in the planning phase of your big day. That is because of the staff. They have the experience to make your big day one of a kind and the service to be available for you literally every step of the way. They are always a phone call away! Their other priceless asset is the ability to provide EVERYTHING you could need in a one-stop-shop, from venue to fine clothing to DJ services and catering. The DJ we were set up with met with us twice before the event to discuss our precise wants, was always a cellphone call away and CRUSHED IT at the event. This is the only formal wear outlet and/or venue that I would use in Michiana!

I have captured a lot of weddings at this hall and they were all beautiful. The hall itself is so perfectly set up with 3 floors. Ryan, Ingrid, and Bill did wonders for the bride and grooms. They put together the buffets for the dinners. Ryan does a great job organizing the music that the bride and groom likes. He makes the announcing of the wedding party into the reception so fun! He gets everyone so excited for such the beautiful couple that he announces. Then during the dancing, he kept the party and happy energy going. PLUS the slideshows that play during spotlight dances or throughout the receptions, are a great detail to show the couple to their guests. You wouldnt go wrong with booking this hall. Looking forward to many more experiences here at this beautiful landmark of Elkhart!

My wife and I just got married at this hall on St. Patricks Day this year. The hall looked great and is a place my wife recognized from her time growing up in the area. The experience as a whole we had with Ingrid and Ryan was very unprofessional and instead of making us feel special or like customers paying for a service, they made us feel like we were working for them. Ingrid threatened and yelled at both my wife and my mother-in-law during the process. Ryan did not communicate things much at all continued asking my wife several times details to our wedding that she had given them months prior to the questions being asked, when we signed the contract. Not only that, but our family and friends spent most of the time we had set aside to get the venue ready, taking down their bridal expo which they informed us would not interfere with our special day. Ryan completely took apart the slide show my grandmother had made as a surprise to us, and made his own without telling her his need for a different format. He continuously complained about having to do most things for the wedding, including those listed in the contract. The day of the wedding every thing looked great, there was a lot that myself and my groomsmen had to help with but I was ok with that so long as my wife was happy. The worst part of our experience with this venue was the day after our wedding when we tried to come back and clean up., as previously agreed upon. Our party arrived before us, and was met with Ingrid yelling at them and saying things were vandalized while refusing to let them come in. No call was made to inform us about the situation, nor to the police to report the break in. Our party told us about what was going on and after they had waited outside for forty minutes with no police car in sight, we had them call the police before we arrived to the building. My wife had a few of her valuables stolen, our alcohol had been smashed or dumped onto the walls. The owners claimed there was a lot a vandalism, but no structural damage was evident aside from some broken glass and wine bottles; it didnt add up to us. This venue claims to be affordable, with good customer service, and an easy process but it was one of the single most unpleasant experiences and a prime example of what not to do in customer service. My wife and I are still waiting to hear back about whether or not their insurance will reimburse us for the things we had stolen from their venue, which we were assured we would be contacted about after the police report was filed, as he was communicating with the insurance company. Beware, this venue is NOT worth it.

Absolutely thrilled with the way not only my daughter Courtney and Her now husband Phil Strukel were treated the entire time, but the way our entire family was treated. We had to move their wedding up unexpectedly and they handled it like pros. They have been married for 3 years and this week, these wonderful people went out of their way for a surprise dinner for our children to celebrate. Thank you for going above and beyond. Will definely recommend you for future events.

BBB may have something to say about a business making individuals take down their TRUE story negative reviews of a business because the said business messed up! You cant file legal action against a negative review.These people need some education in good customer service skills because they definitely do not provide it!! Any business knows the customer is always right, NOT THIS ONE! BAD customer service!Not to mention Ryan refuses to give back the bride and grooms collection of personal photos (family baby pictures and engagement pictures of the bride and groom’s)because he was mad about all the negative reviews that were left after the wedding.

Wouldnt have my wedding here again. Had mine 8 years ago, and a friends the other day. This place I going downhill fast. A beautiful building, but its unfortunate its so out of date. Bad management.

My husband and I had our wedding and reception there. We are nothing less of satisfied. We planned our wedding and reception well. I was my own wedding planner and I dealt with Ryan (owners son) majority of the time. We communicated very well, had access to the Hall to decorate. (if I do say so myself, we nailed it!) We had wanted to be semi casual, so we rented a tux, without the jackets from another rental service...last minute we decided we wanted jackets, Ryan jumped to help...he got us set up with some jackets that went with our tuxs. He didnt want us to worry about anything. We hired servers, bartenders, cleanup through Turnock Hall which were all dressed professional and did a superb job. The day of the wedding we had little to worry about...things Ran smoothly. We purchased a bundle through them (Hall rental, Catering and DJ services) Food was great! Everything was served hot, salads were crisp, Beverages were cold. Beer on tap was severed for those who wanted. DJ services went very well, we had a slide show, which shared soooo many of our memories with our familys, not many dry eyes in the room. Had nice background music going while we had our dinner....He nailed all of our Special Dance songs. I dont think I have a Complaint on booking here. I would recommend this place to anyone who plans on getting married. Just be sure you communicate and get your thoughts across. Know if you are going to Hire people or if you are going to do a DIY wedding. Either way. Turnock Hall is more than willing to accommodate your needs.

I can not say enough good things about this venue And the Powell Family. We used it for my Daughters Wedding and everything was perfect !!! We was able to start decorating on Thursday which was such a blessing bc we had so much to do,they basically said the place is yours for the weekend to do what you want and we did . We decorated from the bottom floor to the top floor.It was Amazing!! Ryan recommended his house Bartender Julie so we went with her, She was Amazing, she is much more then a bartender she is more like a friend and she helps picks up trash n picks up the tables, She orders your alcohol and gets you the best deals, she was with my daughter right before she walked down the isle she made sure all the groomsmen n bridesmaids and my daughter was in perfect shape to walk down the isle...She gets in contact with you weeks before the wedding n stays in contact with you, She is the best ❤️🍻🍾🍷💯 Ingrid was always around taking pictures and making sure we had all we needed and never walked away without giving us a hug n a kiss on the cheek 😘 She is the sweetest!!❤️🌹💯Her husband Bill is super sweet also, He wasnt feeling to good so we didnt see him much but the little bit I talked to him I could tell by the things he was saying they all love what they do...Ryan is Absolutely the best Dj I have ever seen, He made the whole night sooo Fun, He played all the music my Daughter n her new Husband had picked out for their wedding and then some, He even stuck around for a few of us that dont know how to go home lol, he played music for us until 3 in the morning and he has an amazing light show to go with all the best jamms!!! He ROCKS 🎤🎼💯❤️He is not just the Dj he does the catering Also which we didnt use only bc my Daughter wanted a polish dinner and he does Italian dinners which Im sure is Amazing, but he did make us hot hors doeuvres which was delicious.The best part is that you dont have to clean up until Sunday which was great!!! They didnt rush us to clean up just asked what time we would be doing the clean up . They let you in and leave you to do your own thing, After we was done cleaning We as a family sat around and watched my daughter n her new husband open their gifts thats was very nice .. This family was always there when we had question or needed anything, always Answered our calls or text messages right away.. They also own Formal Affairs bridal n tuxedo shop which is where all the guys rented their tuxedos from. They all said that Ingrid n Ryan was great to work with . Ingrid even Steamed my Daughters Cathedral length veil at no charge.That was super sweet of her bc she didnt have to do that since my daughter did not buy her dress from them.. I highly recommend this venue and formal Affairs for all your wedding needs, You can not find a better place to do what you want and have for the whole weekend for the price they offer !!! Im kinda sad its all over it was so fun and entertaining working with all of the Powell family .❤️❤️❤️

For as much money as u pay.U would think the place would be clean. And that they make enough money to fix the leaks in the ceiling. And i dont think the owners should be walking around telling kids what they can and cannot do.
