I really hate to leave a poor review for an optometry, having been an ABO optician and NCLE tech for 9 years. Having said that, their business practice is really poor.The staff is not very competent, and more importantly lazy. They failed to find the VSP coverage that was active, and when they couldnt they kicked the responsibility to the patient and make the patient do their jobs. Rx check, which is the responsibility of the OD, is pawned off to the tech who does not have the clinical scope to do anything about the errors in Rx. This is done to reduce doctors chair time, and it does not serve the patients well. I dont even know if these techs are licensed.Knowing what I know, I questioned their practices. When I did, I was met with super passive-aggressiveness and they tried to charge me for the Rx check that was covered under the VSP. VSP can help to accommodate many varying situations (like a pandemic), but this office was not even willing to try. I have spent many hours talking to VSP. They have NO intentions of doing so for their patients.This office will take advantage of you if you dont know what your rights are. If you do, then they try to weed you out by making your life difficult. This is not how you advocate for patients, and not how you run a clinic. However, it maybe a shrewd business tactic. You as a consumer and a patient, have the option of what you choose to accept as a standard of care.

I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. King and her staff. The environment is nice, staff is courteous and understanding, respectful, and always willing to help you feel at ease. The same goes for Dr. King. She explains what she is doing and makes sure the patient understands her procedures and any instructions. I have been a patient of hers for more years than I can remember and cannot say enough good things about her practice and I will definitely continue to see her in the future and recommend her.

Thank you Bay Family Eye Care for getting me into the office quickly when I had an eye emergency right before Christmas. As you can imagine I was very anxious and scared.The time Dr. King & Tiffany took with me for the exam helped to make me feel much better. The final diagnosis was the best Christmas gift my family and I could ever wish for. As a long standing patient I appreciate knowing that Bay Family Eye Care is always there for me. I love Dr. King. She is always knowledgeable, explains things well, and does a first rate job. I hate going to the doctor and always feel like I am failing something when I dont get a 20/20 diagnosis (and I am FAR from 20/20). She makes the visit enjoyable. I couldnt recommend her more.

They were excellent at Bay Family.. I had previously been to Peepers and spent 1300 and 7 visits to try to get them correct. Needless to say, the previous glasses are useless and I am getting fitted for the contacts that I originally wanted. The staff was excellent and I did feel like the exam was thorough. I think you would be completely pleased with them. Even my 18 year old son was comfortable and liked them!! :)

I love Dr. King and Ive been having eye exams for about 38 years. Dr. Kings practice gives the most thorough exams I have ever had! Dr King spends a lot of time making sure my contacts are the right ones for me each year!! The only thing that bothers me is that the support staff seems different every time I go and some are more personable than others!

I highly recommend Bay Family Eye Care LLC. I went to my eye check last time and got the best service. They also take appointments in weekends which I found very helpful to me as I work full time and get busy in weekdays. Doctor was very detail oriented and explained all the details. Staff members are also very friendly and service is very fast.

I was looking for an eye care that was open on Saturdays so it doesnt conflict with my work schedule and I was happy that I came across Bay Family Eye Care. Everything was fantastic, the staff, the doctor, the choices in eye wear, welcoming environment and more. Over all this place is fantastic and will definitely be coming back again!

I am very happy with the service I received from Bay Family Eye Care. They did a very thorough job checking my eyes, and didnt pressure me into buying anything. In fact they confirmed that my current eye glasses (from 2 years ago) is still fine. I highly recommend this practice to anyone.

No expectations set. I had no idea that it would take 7 to 10 days until after they took my money. After the doctor, the receptionist tells me of all these add-ons that the doctor recommended. But they were never recommended to me where I could ask questions about them. I did not receive a call when my glasses were ready and this location closes ridiculously early. On top of all that my new glasses are worse than my old glasses. Avoid at all costs theres way too many options in the area.

I was so very pleased with my experience from start to finish yesterday. When I called to set up the appt Charlie was very helpful and informative and put me at ease about bringing in my 6 year old son. It was a first time eye doctor visit for both of us and he was having symptoms that were concerning to me, not your normal i cant see the board at school kinda thing. When we arrived we were seen on time and the office had much of my paperwork pre-filled for me. The first girl that saw us ( i didnt get her name) was good with my son while checking him in and getting basic info from us. Next we saw Kyle, who was simply great with my son. He was calming and reassuring and got eye drops in for him with no fight or fear at all! We met with Dr. Mok and she was great with him. She talked with him through everything. He never at any point felt scared or worried about what they were doing. Also his appt was an hour instead of what other offices said would take 2. so there no waiting in a room for an hour for his eyes to dilate. He probably did better than I would have lol. I was so so pleased with everything. I cant thank you guys enough for making this so easy.

The service was fast. and they were very accommodating considering I got the appointment for the same day I called.

Just do yourselves a favor and go to some other clinic.Dr. King is nice, but thats where all the good things stop. Their staff is lazy and their billing and schedule system is extremely sloppy. If you work 9-5 M-F you wont be able to find a decent appointment slot for about a month, and their staff members are not happy about finding an appointment time that works for you. Their wait times are iffy; they dont make you wait hours but they do sometimes make you wait for over half an hour.I got fed up with them and changed doctors, and found out that I have perfectly healthy eyes and dont have glaucoma problems that these people insisted that I have. That probably means I was doing and paying for a bunch of tests that I didnt even need to take. Not to mention, they just sent me a bill from a year ago and judging from the amount its a copay that I probably paid for already.

I have been going to Bay Family Eye Care for about 10 years. Not one bad experience. Everyone is professional and friendly.

The office staff is very accomdating and pleasant. Sometimes you have to visit a place to make your own judgements and this definitely is one of those after seeing the reviews below. There are no shortcuts to her eye exams which some doctors do to keep their visit costs down. Keep up the good work Dr. King.

HEED ALL THE WARNINGS.This place is bad news. Its all about the money for this business and they will charge you for anything and everything. They will conduct tests that no other optometrist would be able to explain and then after the test would charge you hundreds of dollars.Also, fully expect them to send you a bill after months have passed for additional mysterious charges that you thought you resolved months ago. Their mafioso style tactics will include spam emails, weekly letters, and theyll pass your personal information to call spammers if you dont pay their new mystery bill immediately.Dr. King and Dr. Mok will go to great lengths and put on a wide smile to get you to do extra tests that they know will not be covered in your insurance-- all to charge you an extra few hundred bucks. Its disappointing to be dealing with such crooked people. What ever happened to decency and earning an honest wage!Look them up in the public Maryland court system. The record shows their aggressive, hostile, and frankly embarrassing history of suing their customers; thanks to the little good still left in the world, all of those cases were thrown out by the court. Bay Family compromises their integrity to extort an extra few hundred bucks from honest working people-- shameful.Looking out for other good people trying to find an optometrist, dont fall into this Bay Family eye care trap! Run far away!

This place is very inconsiderate of others. They made my wife too off work and come in to wait a couple of hours just to tell her that her glasses were not in yet. Why do they think their time is more valuable than others? They misplaced their records and the doctor seem to be disconnected with the employees. Seriously they dont even deserve a star.

They were helpful understanding and just overall great. I am glad I found them and will be sending the rest of my family and friends for their eye care

The website says they close at 8pm on Mondays and they actually closed at 5:30! 😠 FIX YOUR WEBSITE!! I was excited about getting glasses tonight and they werent open 😦😧

Been going here for years and I keep coming back. While they have had some turnover in the staff and doctors over the past couple years, Dr. King and crew do a great job and I will continue to come here as long as I live in Maryland.

Very nice staff but very very slow. Waited for the Dr for well over 45 mins with an 5 year old.

This eye doctor and her staff are terrible. I would not recommend this place at all. They are really good at charging you money but does very little to almost nothing for you after they have your money.

Poor scheduling system ever!!! I made an online appointment and got an email back from the system. Nobody calls me to say my appointment isnt made successfully. I got there today and they said I dont have any appointment and dont even apologize to me.

Dr. King is a great doctor, unfortunately the same can not be said for the staff. Every time I go in they seam to be in a daze with no idea what is going on.

Major lack of communication from making the appointment to the technician to the optometrist.When I arrived they told me to fill out my address on a postcard for a reminder in two years for my next appointment. Then I was surprised when my glasses prescription was only made out for one year. Ive never had a glasses prescription only written for one year anywhere else. Additionally the cost I paid for this eye exam should be considered extortion.

Check out Yelp where they currently have 2 stars! It is all about the money for this place. Look them up in the Maryland Court System - the last 2 cases they filed suit against people have been dismissed by the court. They are still trying to serve another person. The have been served garnishment documents from the court for their employees - speaks to the quality of the staff. Their public court records speaks for itself. I will never go back for a necessary test. There are other eye care specialists out there - dont be lured into Dr. Kings office. Just say No - just like the drug campaign. As her husband sits in the back office reading this review - tell your wife to call me about my bill, I am still waiting for her call! Maybe I will sue you for false statements ... Hummmm, not so funny any more is it?!!Update: a year later - still not good. Screwed up our insurance allocation when we tried to go somewhere else. Heed the warnings!! They will NOT treat you well!
