Im starting my second month living in a gem of a small house from Broughman Builders. I could not be more pleased. They were pros from start to finish, decent and kind people, and have been prompt to follow up with any questions I have had after moving in. The designs are beautiful and unique. Mike Wight helped me find the perfect land to go with my chosen house model. Thanks to the whole team. I definitely recommend them!

You are correct, you did not get the opportunity to build me a home because my first impression of your business was skewed by slick talk. You tried to get me to go from a very basic double-wide into a single wide just so you could get the sale.And we made it very clear about how important it was to us to get great service for my veteran husband

My wife and I had a great experience with Broughman Builders. We bought our home from them in 2013 and we still love it as much as the day we moved in. The owners were very helpful and kind throughout the entire project and whenever we had a question or a change they would accommodate. They offer high quality homes and walk you through the entire process from floor plans to final touch ups. We trusted them with our biggest purchase and they delivered beyond expectations. Love the live chat feature on the website as it allowed me immediate customer service contact and enabled me to make an appointment. Although I am just in the very, very, VERY beginning stages of this process, Garrett was INCREDIBLE to work with! I couldnt believe how attentive he was, he answered all of my questions honestly. What he didnt know, he was upfront about and what he did know put me at ease. I live and work in the Belfast area, but I am really looking forward to working with BBI in Ellsworth once I figure out all of the adulting I have to do to become a responsible homeowner. Broughman Builders are an awful company, with shoddy workmanship, and horrible customer service which borders on being verbally abusive. No person in their right mind should contract them for any type of work. There are better companys out there to spend your money with and get good value, and more importantly, quality work.

Multiple building mistakes; poured wrong garage slab, delivered house with the wrong roofline, installed moldy drop down stairs, delivered the house with a wrong colored door and all wrong colored window and door jams, siding bulging mid winter in the shade, inside finish work was lacking to say the least.Most of the issues listed above have been relayed to Broughman and Ive been told they will be fixed but at delays and many hours of fighting with them to get what I paid for.Havent had a good experience with what was billed to be a quick and easy process. I wouldnt recommended Broughman to anyone, if you do use them make sure you monitor everything they do closely to ensure its quality.Edit: Broughman fixed the roofline (which looks great now) and swapped out the moldy drop down stairs. The manufacturer (Marlette) even fixed the two interior wavy walls. Things are moving along slowly but at least in the right direction (completion date was 7 weeks prior to at time of edit).

Buyer beware. Unethical business practices abound. Broughman Builders will not take responsibility for any issues that arise, and will blame you, the home owner. Construction knowledge seems very limited, and green. BUYER BEWARE. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
