Great quiet hiking paths. For beginners or experts.
Tanglewood is great! They have an animal exhibit which is fun for kids and Oliver the owl, well, he is pretty cool! The trails are well marked and they give you the mileage so you know how long each one is which is awesome. The view of the Chemung River is gorgeous once you’re at the top! Definitely a great park!
Walked the red trail. Great experience! Beautiful views just before the scenic overlook. Good workout, too.
Very nice nature area has several small animals on exhibit plus taxidermied animals also very nice walking trails well maintained
Great little place to go I love going there 😀 always peaceful and quiet great place to clear your head
Took my daughter & 2 year old grandson & we loved it. He loved it so much that when it was time to leave he cried & did not want to leave.

We had a good time, the live animals were very nice. The nature trails were well maintained and marked. We enjoyed our visit.
Love to take my littles here
Hiking here all the time. Great getting out doors
Its a cool place to take the kids and enjoy nature. Not too flashy or busy, and a short drive from Harris Hill to make it a well rounded day. Some of the trails arent as clearly marked as others and sometimes staff is scarce, but still very nice. There are cool learning displays inside and some neat animal enclosures for rescued owls, etc. A great place to support.
Absolutely beautiful trails make good exercise and the view is fantastic.
Beautiful nature center with helpful, friendly staff! Bridget, one of the women who helps run the nature center, is one of the nicest, most knowledgeable people I have ever met! She truly makes it an amazing experience whenever you go and loves to chat about the nature center and its history. There are several trails that vary in difficulty levels and they have a wide array of animals. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in nature, looking for something family friendly, or anyone looking to learn!
Love the trails!!
Amazing place for people of any age. They have the twain trail which is 3 miles but, also a shorter child sensory trail! Its a lot of fun learning and good exercise.
This place is just wonderful all around!! I went to a birthday party there & it was very entertaining... The employees were very nice & good with the kids & very smart & had lots of info & answered all the questions everyone had about the animals & reptiles & everything else... I would absolutely suggest visiting!!
Great little hidden gem, staff was super friendly and nice, place was clean and animals very well taken care of. Plus its was completely free. Cute little gift shop and when were there they had an interactive classroom session, my 8 year old loved it.
Tanglewood offers a great place to explore the outdoors. Museum exhibits to hiking trails make a great community resource
Tanglewood is my favorite local hiking trail. Its beautiful, scenic trails hold my attention for2 1/2 hrs at a stretch. Hike short easy trails, steep pine woods trails or climb the entire mountainside!!
Tanglewood was a great place for a 5th Birthday party. The kids loved the animals and the people that work there are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable when showing the wildlife. The price was good for a large room for 3 hrs. Well worth it.
It claimed the event would last from 11am until 3pm. We arrived at Tanglewood around 12:45pm and a lot of the games were closed and they were out of pumpkins for the kids too paint. They would h ave been better off getting smaller pumpkins, so all kids could enjoy. The only two things for kids too do, were too get their face painted and the hay ride, which was almost filled up for the 3 pm ride, which was the last one. We just gave our tickets back and left, but we did feel bad for the other people still driving in. They did offer too give us money back for Our tickets, but it was for a good cause and our grandson goes there several times in the nice weather anyhow, so we donated them back. I was really glad too see them give them too people, rather than re-sell them.
Beautiful facility with large selection of animals to see and learn about. Many walking trails and activities for all ages! Supported by donation so please help support such a great place! Well worth the drive!
Amazing assortment of local and exotic species here!!!There is no entrance fee so it makes for a cheap activity to do with the kids and there are a large assortment of animals from ferrets to snakes, small reptiles and birds of prey.If you have a little vet in the ranks, they have summer camps here too!!!
What a fun place to spend a few hours. My grand daughter told us how much fun she had there and now we know why..Much to see and a good hike thru the woods!!
