The older man who works there(maybe the owner?) did not seem friendly at all. He was yelling at his employees IN FRONT of us (family of 4) and then started screaming at a car that was merely turning around in the parking lot. It was very bizarre. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. Also the soft serve was far too soft and tasted off. Wish I could give this place 0 stars.

I just had the most awful peanut butter and chocolate ice cream cone Ive ever had. I ordered a medium and it was very small portion as well. Nothing close the pic to give you an idea of the size. Fortunately there are much better choices for ice cream in the area. This place wont be missed if they go out of business.

Great soft served ice cream place! Reasonable prices. They were quite busy, but served their customers quickly and had a really good system. They also have spots painted on the ground for proper distancing and you could see them cleaning. Worth visiting for a sweet treat!

This place has a lot of really cool sundae options and the prices are very good they get really unique ice cream flavors in every week. I think this will be my main spot for ice cream now that Ive moved into the area

On this visit I stopped on with my visiting sister. As always it was a great experience! Weve visited King Kone since we were kids & as always it made us smile.They have the best soft serve available in the area in my humble opinion; that is. They usually have some additional flavors besides the traditional chocolate & vanilla.Whether you choose a traditional flavor, a non traditional, or some other item besides a cone Im sure youll enjoy it!They have a few picnic tables for outdoor seating. There is no indoor seating.Of note the cone sizes are huge! You get a lot of ice cream. Look at the size chart when ordering. I highly recommend this establishment!

King Kone is a soft serve and sundae stand which has been in operation since the 1940s. It is only open during the warm months. Each week, there are a small variety of flavors available - chocolate and vanilla are always available (and chocolate-vanilla twist), and there are generally three or four additional flavors which can be ordered separately or with a twist that compliments the flavor - like banana and peanut-butter or berry and vanilla. There is also a wide array of upgrades that can be added to the cone, such as sprinkles and flavored dips (chocolate, caramel, strawberry, etc). King Kone also sells a range of sundaes, any of which can contain any of the weeks flavors - if you want a blueberry hot fudge sundae, they will serve you that.The quality of the ice cream is pretty consistent - its soft serve, not gelatto - but its always good soft serve, and very tasty. When its hot out, this place is often busy, with lines. The lines tend to move fairly quickly. King Kone is a cash only establishment. They have added some picnic tables this year.

I try to return every time Im in Elmira! King Kone has been there since before I can remember and shows no signs of leaving. The menu, such as it is, is plastered all over the windows on the little shack, such that itll take quite some time to read all your cone, sundae, soda, and milkshake choices. Prices are outstanding, and the soft-serve ice cream, while limited in flavor choices any given day, is plentiful and hits the spot. The plethora of toppings are really the way to play, with a favorite being the Krunch (also sold for home use). Not really much room for standing in line before you find yourself standing on College Avenue, and theres just a couple of nearby picnic tables, so you might be relegated to sitting on your cars hood devouring your selection. But its so worth it.

This place has turned into a convenient store icecream store and thats being generous. Its trash now. They USED to be a great place to get all kinds of ice cream. Now is rather take my child to buy it ANYWERE else. Its not anything but a glorified popsicle stand.

I showed up 5 minutes before closed and they had shut the windows on me. Very inconsiderate. One person in the back shook their head and scoffed at me. I was rushing to get there to get my neice ice cream for her birthday and they wouldnt serve me. I am very upset by it. But its ok because I went 1 mile down the road to big top ice cream and they were extremely nice.
