I had an absolutely amazing experience here. I came in because my car battery kept dying. DJ Lou helped me out and for a fair price. He had me in and out in less than an hour as I needed to get to work. I will definitely come back to this location they are very reliable and honest. Thanks!

Very disappointed, bought four new tire for my Honda CRV, I had to return to get them properly balanced, I had my rear brakes done and after a couple of weeks I had to go to the dealership to have them done. Poor craftsmanship. I will never have any repairs at Pepe Boys

Normally it would be fine but after going to that plumbing supply store in queens and seeing them on how they handle their customers and people who cut the line. thats absolutely horrible. I bet you anything the shop is keeping them a float more than the store.

I have 2 experiences with them that definitely wont have me going back there ever.First I went there for a wheel alignment. Left the car and when I picked it up it was even more misaligned than when I dropped it off.Second time I went in for a vehicle inspection. They had me sit there for 2 hours only to tell me that they couldnt inspect it because it was tinted (even thou he saw it beforehand on the very same day and confirmed with me that it was the car I was inspecting) and said that the also cant inspect it because it had a check engine light, when in fact I didnt have a check engine light, it was my tire pressure sensor that was off......

First of all after waiting 3hours 10 minutes one person walk to to just to let me know that they couldn’t figure out the problem with my vehicle..so according to them the solution was wait another 4 hours so they can take a closer look and pay 45$ for every single hours for labor...I ended up paying 54.69$. For nothing just nothing...question to you whoever assigned for this customer comments things that how much a person should pay just for a headlights related problem??? According to you guys total amount would come around 500$ I guess my math was pretty accurate...never on that place in this life not even by mistake

Been a PepBoys customer for years. Always amazing experience at Hillside and Jamaica Ave locations. Moved close to Elmont and started using this location. Horrible. The short guy at the front with eye glasses is the most naturally condescending customer service rep ever.May be better to drive miles for service or go to other providers.#Disgusted🙄❗😏❗

Must admit was scared to take my car baby to anyone but they treated me and my car right. Prices were good and so was the service. 👍

Unprofessional. Took my money but didnt do the work and they refused to prove with video as promised, I got refund because they knew they didnt do the work. Watch your vehicle as it will just sit for hours doing nothing.Update:8/6/21 pepboys owner replied to my post and assured an investigation but the results ended in wanting me to speak to that pepboys store manager. I dont think the owner cares that the employees are scamming customers charging for work not done. Because they couldnt produce the video proof, I received refund at the store that day. The owner did not help me and wants me to do all the footwork/ wild goose chase. He knows the problem so he should do something about it, not ask me to speak to the manager. Update 8/9/21 owner keeps emailing me with stupid question which I already explained in my original posting. He doesnt read! A total waste of my time and nothing more than double talk. Unsatisfactory.

I started going to this pep boys location about 2 years ago and had wheels installed and tires, few oil changes and bought whole bunch of stuff. I have to say the guys that work there especially the managers and the older guys in the mechanic shop they have lots of experience and know their cars very well. I never had any problems yet and I will continue to take my car to them. I drive 20 miles to them because I know I will get the best people to work on my car that have lots of experience.

Had an appointment. They did not start working on my car for 1 hour after i gave them keys.The dont run efficiently. Not too happy with this store.

I decided to go to Pep Boys in Elmont to have my battery checked, due to car wouldnt start this morning. After the Technician installed the battery, he asked me was my steering wheel making noise? I said NO!! He said come look, he twisted the steering wheel N you could hear noise as he was turning the wheel, i do believe he did something to my car to cause the noise on my steering wheel. BE WARE OF Pep Boys.!!!

I would avoid this place like the plague. Even if you need a repair and are willing to pay the high prices. They will lie to you, inconvenient you, and change the price upon a phone call.I went in there knowing what I needed and what had to be done.They told me I needed another part to go along with the repair that I didn’t know of they and had to out source the part because they didn’t have it.They said they’ll call me... they never did.Days following I went to my friendly street mechanic/ friend of family.We went to the parts (Arch parts)store to purchase what I originally asked for at pep boys and guess what the part they said they that they had to out source / and cost extra money, it was already in the box it comes as a kit.So in case you missed it . pep boys of elmont tried to charge me extra for something that already comes in as a kit along with other parts I knew I was going to need.Pep boys of Elmont said my bill is gonna cost extra because they had to search dealers to find it. My car is old btw. The dealer wouldn’t have no part for this older model car.Read this review and beware.This is what they did to me.Glad I didn’t need them but they tried to scam me.Why though? It was the time of big stimulus check and the place was packed. They clearly wasn’t desperate for the money.I would not go there. Buyer beware!

Hempstead turnpike terrible service advertised open at 7:30 actually opens up at 8:00When it did finally open after on line we were told the inspection guy comes in at 10:00.Came back and was told there is 3 hour wait left never to return

This review is regarding service on my vehicle. So we went there cause we got our tires done about two months ago, one tire popped and went back for them to replace it. I went in to talk to one of them about a warranty, so he told me let me check for you on our system, then he checked and said give us the key so we can change the tire, ok so I gave him the key and left my car. Funny, he didnt say maam theres no warranty heres how much it would cost for a new one, nothing like that. So, an hour later they call letting me know the tire would be $130, I asked what about the warranty? The guy said maam you dont have a warranty, so I said ok. We walked back in and asked them for the tires that we purchased last time for $75, then they said well check the back, the guy came back with the tire and offered warranty which we accepted and tried to charge $300+, so he printed receipt which made no sense to why it came up to $300+ if warranty is only $14. As were telling them no the price doesnt make sense, thats when the price dropped to $112, and he said the computer had a glitch. Idk what made them felt like maybe were dumb or something, and that they could con us. Not cool, and I recommend anyone going there to open your eyes and be damn careful, cause this game was just too dumb for me, like Im a customer here to give you money, why try to con me? Not getting service there ever again!

Free battery test IF you take out your own battery and bring it inside to them. I wish I knew this before I went over there.

Had a broken roter and recently had to jump my car and couldnt finish inspection. They even took care of my faulty back windshield wiper.

My husband and I went in to search for somethings for our car, seeing as I’m a woman I know nothing about cars . DJ Lou helped guide us through everything we needed and I learned a few things along the way. He was patient, pleasant and full of knowledge. We surely will be returning again. Thank you DJ Lou!

Went in to have my vehicle service. The service manager Sean had the utmost top knowledge of what my car needed. Explained everything fully to me step by step, had the car done before the time I was expecting. Also gave me my senior citizen discount. No other pep boys has ever done that. Thank you Sean you are the best and will be getting my service all the time. Your honest, upfront, and keep customers in the loop of what is going on.

I had an issue with my Fleet Service account. Zack in the service department was extremely helpful in resolving it.Also, I hadnt realized my vehicle inspection was overdue, but the mechanic (Jamie?) did!Saved me from getting a ticket!

They are no good . I will never come back to pep boys and definitely will not recommend them to any of my colleagues and friends . I did oil change on the 08/28, 2 days later the oil light came back on. I came back with the car explained what had happened to the manager . He just shrugged and told me to come back during the week because they are busy . I came back the next day, same thing again but One of the employees which was nice . He added some oil and the light came off . A week later, the oil light came back on . I took the car back and the manager had an attitude like it was my fault . DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR THERE .

The parking lot is filthy. It’s covered in used masks and used gloves amongst other garbage. Besides that when you walk in the signs are so misleading. After 10 minutes of standing there and people coming in and getting serviced before me I had to ask am I standing in the right place? Only to be told I could have stood in another line that read something totally different from what I needed and they were sorry they didn’t see me standing in the line that was offering the service I needed. Thinking the person was overwhelmed I just left and took my business elsewhere.

This place is way better then any dealership. Every time I come here I always get the problem solved. Dj Lou helped me quickly I did not wait long Elhadi did a fantastic job he followed all covid19 procedures I will be back again!!

My husband and I come here all the time everyone is so nice except for an older woman named Rose she is very rude to us doesnt thank us for our business and she didnt want to give my husband a miltary discount, my husband even showed her his Milltary ID shes claimed it was only on Tuesday when I asked to speak to a manager she gave my husband the discount. Rose does not look happy being there I really hope the manager would talk to her about how to treat customers a simple thank you or have a good day thats all it takes to keep my husband and I coming back.

Very disappointed, they tried to oversell my wife. She needed a 8 dollar part but they tried selling a 70 dollar one. Dont go here unless you know about vehicles.

Needed to get inspection done last minute. Called around to a few places, told me 1-2hrs. Called Pep Boys, and couldn’t guarantee how long it would take, but said to come down right away. Drove down, waited 20-30min and was all done. Couldn’t have been happier, very speedy, easy process, which didn’t waste my morning. Thanks guys!!

DJLOU is the best!! Great energy, informative and fair. Great customer service. I came here from Honda dealer charging me and arm and they took care of me. Car drives brand new for half the cost. Definitely recommend plus they open late to 9pm. Not a lot of places you can drop your car off at 3:30 pm and they finish before 9pm.

DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR TIRE REPAIRED. Took my tire here to fix a leak and they left black glue all around the rim. When I took it back to have it cleaned they refused to clean it and told me to take it to the car wash. Couldn’t even give me a car wash voucher to have it cleaned. Terrible customer service. This is per their manager as well.

She was friendly, open to questions on different tires, provided answers, allowed us to see the tires to make a better decision, her team even made time for the installation on a Sunday of all days. It was all around some of the best customer service I’ve received in a long time. Thanks to her and the Pep Boys team I was able to pick my car up earlier than even expected. Happy I went there! Waited for someone to acknowledge that I was waiting for service, took a while. Was quoted 118.00 for an oil change. Went to action transmission and it was done for 70.00 and was shown a leak by the axle that is covered in my warranty. Good, quick, courteous service. Very happy with Ken and his people.

I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile by the manager Nicole. She was extremely pleasant, professional, and prompt. I was in and out in a matter of minutes!! Everything I needed she was able to have taken care of and answer every question. The employees were and have always been excellent. Absolutely love this store, anything you need they can handle!

I give it just 3 stars . Ive been going to the Elmont location for a couple of years now to get an oil change. Theyre usually pretty nice but not today. They did do my oil changed among other stuff. It was expensive for what they did but the supervisor there did give me a discount and was friendly . But, I will say... the girl at the front desk wasnt friendly at all . She was rude and didnt know nothing about high mileage cars and what type of oil to put in my car.

Excellent !! Great service, honest, good prices. The waiting area is very comfortable with a large tv, magazines, free coffee, outlets to charge up cell phones. The restroom is spotless. There is a very large parking lot. Restaurants are close by too.

Went in there to recharge my AC and they tried to oversell me for other problems in my car for +$1k. A couple weeks after my AC stopped blowing cold air and I brought it back. They said to fix the AC it would be +$2K, but why didn’t they notice this issue prior? I got my AC fixed at another spot for way less. Wouldn’t recommend unless you like spending money.

I get charged twice to fix my car because they ordered the parts and I have to come back. Thanks pep boys

Say they open at 7am don’t open at 7am. Say they closed at 8pm came by at 7pm store was closed and gated like it was 9pm.Gave 2 stars because the parking lot, that’s where I’ve been spending my time when I come here on time.

Came in for an oil change a few days ago and the service I received from Chris was amazing. I went to the dealership for my previous oil change and of course they put the wrong oil in my car. Chris was kind and patient enough to explain everything to me! He was very knowledgeable on cars as well and was not pushy like other places Ive been too. Thank you Chris

You guys are lucky you’re getting a start. I brought my car to get my tires changed. Paid to get 2 of my tires to get changed, and rotated. I waited for hours just for them to change only one of my tires, and not rotated my tires. All things i paid for. So as i was driving through out the week my tire light came on. When i checked my tire i realized the tire that i paid to be changed wasn’t changed. I knew this because the tire had a bubble in it. When i went back to pep boys they asked me if i was sure if i paid for it. I showed my receipt and they’d said they will look into it. Once they looked at my car the mechanic said my tire was fairly new that’s why he didn’t change it after i paid for the money to change it. After i argued with them they changed my tires and rotated them. The service as you can see sucked and wasn’t up to par. I don’t understand how i wasn’t provided a service i paid for. I am disgusted by this and will never come here again. I advise you to do the same.

My car out of nowhere started making this weird noise and I instantly came to this pep boys. I was greeted by Tyrese Baxter and he explained to me what could be the issue with my car, and when my car was fully evaluated, he kept me updated with the progress of my car until it was done. I received such great costumer service from him. I would recommend anyone coming here for car services.

The service is quick and professional along with friendly personal. They try to get you in and out as quickly as possible. The prices are extremely competitive and offer great discounts. The store manager NICOLE is extremely accommodating and customer service minded. Very approachable. Always has a smile and greets you to make sure you are being taken care of. I am a customer for life I will not bring my car anywhere else.

SCAMMMERS! I took my car to this location for what turned out to just be an old battery that need to be replaced. HOWEVER, a few hours later I received a call from them claiming that my brake pads needed to be replaced, which is a very odd considering that I had just replaced my breaks less than 6 months earlier.The technician then tried to convince me that the previous mechanic charged me to replace the parts, but never actually did. I found that hard to believe considering that the previous mechanic gave me a LIFETIME WARRANTY ON PARTS! It would be very foolish to not replace a part but still give me a lifetime warranty on parts.Its unfortunate that there are a few bad apples that can make the unknowledgeable easy targets and give an entire industry a bad name.

Pretty decent establishment compared to other Pep Boys locations that I have seen. Place is clean and is typical of an auto shop chain. Service was alright, I wouldnt say excellent due to the wait times that I had experienced. Staff is relatively helpful and they seem to be trying their best despite being understaffed. Brought my Honda Accord for a tire change and was relatively satisfied with the whole experience.

I went in to get a my motor oil serviced which i normally change myself but it was really cold that day.. The service line was really pack that day but the staff was really great and worked effectively. This very nice lady name Nicole who turns out to be the store manager help me personally without having to ask and made everything go real smooth. I will be going back...

Went in there and the shop was so busy, the assistant service manager Sean acknowledged me right away and i thought I was going to be there forever for an inspection and oil change. 25 minutes later Sean comes back and hands me my keys and says your all set. Man was I happy Sean you are the best assistant that every worked there. Also gave me 10 dollars off my oil change.

So far, I have not yet had a bad experience with Pep Boys, located in Elmont, NY. Today, Nicole, the store manager (I believe), asked if she could help me. I asked her if I could simply have someone check the pressure on all four of my tires. I had purchased them this past summer and knew that they were in good condition, but wanted to be thorough and get them checked anyway. Not only did she say yes, but said that I didnt have to pay because it was a courtesy check up. Nicole is very nice and professional. (4 stars because of wait time on line).

Best pep boys around they gave me a package deal for my oil change with a discount. They are very helpful they know what they are taking about unlike other places. Will come back again for any other service I need done. Will recommend to friends.
