There were 3 employees in the store and no other customers when I ordered an Avocado Veg Out to go today. One took my order and one started making my sandwich. Those two employees were masked, personable and perfectly appropriate.The problem arose when the sandwich maker found there was no tomato. There was discussion among the 3 employees about this. The two I previously described knew there were tomatoes available in the back and all they needed to do was slice one for my sandwich. The third employee, who wore her mask below her nose the entire time - meaning she was essentially UNmasked - objected. She looked at me and flatly pronounced that there were no tomatoes. (No apology there - no Im so sorry but we are out of tomatoes.) I answered that would have been nice to know when I ordered my sandwich. She then turned to the other two employees to say that an employee scheduled to work the next day had the job of slicing tomatoes and she would have nothing to do tomorrow. Oh my - one less tomato to slice tomorrow! An unimaginable, insurmountable, earth-shaking catastrophe!What an attitude! Heaven forbid a customers order be fulfilled at the expense of the work assignment for tomorrows employee. Seriously?Fortunately the other two disagreed, so the sandwich maker got a tomato, sliced it and finished my sandwich, which was delicious. That third woman - unsmiling, unmasked for all practical purposes and decidedly unhelpful, is not doing the business (or the customers!) any favors.

Literally waited over 30 minutes for 3 bagels. Then they forgot to make my drink so started scrambling. I watched them rinse out old milk from the coffee machine and then put the frother on top of the garbage can while trying to make the rest. Disgusting???? Not even a hand wash either. Ended up waiting another 10 for the drink that I ended up dumping in the trash and could barely eat the bagels. Don’t come here. Long waits and unsanitary staff.

Wow. It look literally 30 minutes to make one sandwich. There is a lot of stuff, and everyone is busy doing something, apparently except preparing the food. Very sad. Never back again

I get it that everyone is trying their best, except for the people who work at Einstein bagels. They couldnt put forth less effort if they tried. Nothing is stocked nothing is done efficiently and no matter what you order they screw it up or do the exact opposite. This is not unique. Every location has horrible customer service and the food is going downhill too

We enjoy to go out. Yesterday we arrived in this fine restaurant which friends recommended to us. We had a lovely experience there with very good meal and a professional crew and an impressive cuisine. We put this fine restaurant in our list and we shall definitely return very soon. Horrible experience! I had to wait 17minutes to get my breakfast bagel and a chocolate chip bagel toasted chocolate chip bagel. The restaurant was a complete mess, bagels, cups and trash evereywhere, staff either didnt care or was flat rude. 6 days ago I had also purchased a $25 gift card with a $5 bonus attached. I used that gift card once for $8 yet somehow my gift card only had a $12 balance and the $5 bonus card had no balance - hence I had to come out of pocket $2 bucks to cover my $14 purchase!.?!. The kicker was their register receipts are illegible so I cant even call their corporate offices or reference my receipts.

Love their plain bagels the best. Although their pretzel bagels are pretty good. My son loves the spinach cheese bagel and the blueberry one. My sis loves their cranberry bagels followed by the pretzel bagel. I joined their club and its worth it. Ive already gotten a free bagel and a free cookie. It was supposed to be chocolate chip, but they were out. It was late in the day so he offered the chocolate lava cookie. I did not need to know about the chocolate lava cookie! Delicious! It tastes like a brownie and has powdered sugar on top. Definately try it. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Worth a try.

Great bagels, bagel sandwiches, fresh orange juice & lattes! We love their everything bagels & their potato bagels. Their bagel sandwiches are consistent & good (especially the turkey sausage, egg & cheese sandwich). Their lunch sandwiches arent that impressive, despite my love for bagel, but theyre okay.

Bagels are really good, if I can even get any. This place gets very busy because of its location, but they never seem to have bagels. Only very limited selection. Maybe if the manager would read the reviews they would understand that they need to make more, especially during peak. I mean c’mon. This has been happening for years, look at the other reviews.Other than that the wait times can be long depending on the time and the service is decent, but if you’re coming here in the morning to get in and out, I recommend you call ahead (15 minutes in advance).They have a great deal on Monday’s, $7 Bakers Dozen with 2 spreads.

Stopped @ Encinitas store @ 2PM. Still had decent choices of bagels. My favorite-chocolate chip!. Also had egg bagel. Gave me senior discount w/o mentioning. Ill be back when in the area.

Just picked up the breakfast bagel. Was the bagel was not toasted, the egg was laid on the work station,as was the cheese, the egg was cold and the bagel was not buttered as asked. Sandwich cold bacon cold cheese cold egg cold and was laid on the counter surface!! The store was not that busy. Appeared attention to proper food preparation is not what was done. I have seen better at this store. Today I am totally disappointed:(

Great bagels, great breakfast options. Tbey serve coffee, juices,and sodas. My favorite is the Lox bagel which can be hard to find at other places that make bagels. Good fast and friendly service. They give you the choice to make the menu item how you want it which is a plus.

The bagels are so delish! When freshly baked theyre too die for & they bake all day long. You can call ahead & order to pick up, save yourself the line.

This is a great bagel place! I came in and had a large orange juice with a bagel breakfast sandwich which tasted great! I had a nice boost for the rest of the day and enjoyed my time with the happy associates that worked there. Definitely worth a try!

Had to do some business in the area and I love Einstein bagels, so I decided to try this particular place for the first time. Service was dreadful. The younger employees were nice, however an older woman by the name of Jennifer was extremely impolite while I was ordering. After I sat down inside to eat, a couple of customers were looking at me in awe of how rude she was treating the other customers, especially an old man who was having trouble hearing. The food was fine, however I will not be returning to this establishment in the future. Dont get me wrong, I love Einstein bagels, but this place gives them a bad name.

Friendly staff is always a plus. Tried the new Napa Valley Chicken. Great flavor. Melted Brie. Fig jam. Garlic aioli. Yum. Down fall...it falls apart. Not easy to eat. Fingers are sticky from jam. Probably wont get it again. Still not a big fan of Einstein Brothers.

This was the worst service beginning from a rushed order. The wait time was over 30 min for one beagle and spread. It was over crowded, it smelled bad, and one of the ladies working there was rude. They kept getting everyones order messed up. I do not recommend this place AT ALL. If you want a bageal its probabaly faster to get it at Stater Brothers...

We waited twenty minutes for just two breakfast sandwiches! So many other customers were waiting forever as well. Customers that ordered after us got their orders way before us. Also, the floors needed to be cleaned as there was a lot of trash and spilled drinks. If there were more staff I believe these problems could be solved.

Waited for waaayyyy too long for a bagel and cream cheese which was supposed to be toasted and instead was like eating elastic.

Went in at 930am and ordered three bagels to go.Used the restroom only to find them filthy. Urine on floor and seat. Debris in the ground. Gave my daughter her bagel with cream cheese on the side and half way thru eating it she found a hair in the cream cheese container. With the hepatitis A epidemic that is plaguing the county that food establishments wouldnt take extra precautions baffles me.
