I have never been into the store although I have lived in Encinitas for 12 years. My watch clasp broke and I stopped in to see if they could help.David was in and after only a couple of minutes fixed my clasp for free! I am extraordinarily grateful! Excellent customer service!While I was waiting I had a chance to look at the stunning jewelry that they sell. Gorgeous and unique pieces. If you’re in the market for beautiful jewelry and excellent customer service I cannot recommend David Bernatz Jewelers more!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEWELRY HERE!I am absolutely devastated by the condition of my (ENGAGEMENT) ring after getting it sized by David Bernatz Jewelers. I brought my ring in on a Wednesday to get in sized down, they said it would take a week to complete. The next Wednesday, I called THEM to see if my ring was ready. The lady on the phone told me first that she could not find the ring and that it must not be in house yet. Confused by the fact that I was NEVER told it was being shipped out, I started to get frustrated. They told me that I could come in Thursday to pick up the ring.When I arrived to pick up my brand new engagement ring my center stone was loose and there was a cut mark in the middle of the band where it looks like they tried to solder the band back together after sizing it down. Completely in shock, I asked why they thought the ring in its current condition was acceptable to give back to a customer. They asked to keep in another week to fix it, I let them. Why I thought that was a good idea after the first result - I do not know.I just picked up my ring after another week at David Bernatz on the day they told me it would be ready, they did not once call me to give me an update or inform me that the ring would not be ready on the day they originally told me to pick it up. So I arrived on the day they originally told me it would be ready. Only to find that they had just not called me because the ring was not ready. They brought out my ring and it was EVEN WORSE than the first time I picked it up. Not only does the ring have a line on the band where they tried soldering it back together STILL but now the prong where they tighten my ring (so that my center stone was not lose) is warped and almost looks like they broke it in half and tried to solder the prong back together.I have NEVER been so upset in my life.UPDATE: I have shipped my ring back to my jeweler in New York. They were shocked by the condition of my ring as it looks like I tried to re-size it myself. I will end up paying more money out of pocket to get the mistakes that David Bernatz made fixed - My band needs to be completely re-done and I will be needing a brand new prong.DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEWELRY HERE!

Great products, good prices, and a fantastic team. Theyll learn your style and cater pieces to your tastes. The custom work is fantastic as well - my wedding band has been everywhere, even in sharks mouths a hundred feet down and still no lost stones.

Walked in to have my grandmothers ring sized. There was 1 other customer and a saleswoman. I stood and waited while they talked, never acknowledging my presence. Not a hello or I’ll be with you soon. Nothing. I could have been wallpaper. After I was completely ignored for a good 3-4 minutes I left and wrote this.
