I LOVE Gemstar Gemstone! I have been going there for about 8 years at least 1-2 times a year for a big trip (always having lived about an hour away from this store).I schedule a road trip with friends to bring at least a couple of people with me each time, and we ALWAYS have a blast!!I recommend you set aside at least 3 hours when you go to this shop for a big trip... As there is just so much to look at. I have also found that their prices consistently seem to be lower than most stores I have been to.

Hidden gem! (I had to)Ive been coming here since I was a kid and it continues to be a special trip after many years. Something for everyone. An especially great visit in the Summer, love their little polished rock garden outside. Cant beat the prices and selection!

This shop is one of the best crystal places I have been to. The prices are affordable. The staff is knowledgeable. They have a wide selection available for their customers. I found them to be friendly. As was mentioned before, call ahead to make sure of the hours. Also, if at all possible visit during a warmer month. There is so much that is available outside. The snow covers up much of it during the winter. That way you get to have the whole experience. It sort of is like a Barnes and Nobles of crystals, rocks and gems.

Ive been buying stones here for nearly ten years. They have excellent quality, prices and customer service. You need to allow enough time to look around because it is packed with so much to choose from. I recommend you take a trip there each season as the outside has some great pieces, too, and youll see it differently when Mother Nature changes. I travel back to my childhood home in Vermont each summer from my home just outside of Phoenix, AZ. My mom, her friend Leslie, my two boys, and I make it a point to seek out this OUTSTANDING little shop every summer and I always leave with some new treasures.No summer is complete without a trip to Gemstar and visiting with the owners. Now they are the true treasures! The owners of this glorious little shop are personal friends of Leslies and It is obvious that they love what they do. They are always willing to assist you or answer any questions you might have for them.

I hate leaving poor reviews, but I need to be honest..Things need to be cleaned up outside. And if there is still something wrong with your septic (after 3 years) please fix it. The smell of human urine makes it very difficult for a migraine sufferer to browse. While I love this place and I drive an hour to get there my daughter and I just cant handle the smell.. I want to be there more then once a year. But its just impossible for me to convince myself its worth the migraine.

Gemstar is my favorite place to shop for gemstones, crystals, and so much more. The two most important things to know are always check their hours, they work hard to ensure their hours are the most convenient for the customer, and make a list of what you want/need. They have so-so much, its very easy to loose site of what your looking for with all their beautiful products.The staff is very helpful, and knowledgeable without being overbearing, and they have a few reference books to help you find that pretty gemstone you forgot the name of. Their prices are very reasonable, and the quality is A+.Iwould highly recommend Gemstar for all your gemstone, and crystal needs.

The place was loaded with stones and the owners were very nice, Ive been there 3 times since and cant wait to go back. I noticed a few squirrels around that really seemed to enjoy the enormous amount of crystals outside, it was very cool, must be good energy :).

A senseless act of cruelty and careless disrespect for life. This was our impression of Gemstar Gemstone Co. My husband and I travelled 2 hours to visit this place on our 7th wedding anniversary. We had decided to gift each other a large amethyst cathedral to put in our entrance hall.We found the one we wanted, we wandered around outside for a bit, and came across a very large spider trapped in a deep plastic bucket full of polished stone. I remarked upon its size and said out loud what should we do? I was talking to my husband, but a slovenly dressed man wearing glasses spoke up and said You step on it! I ignored him. He seemed to think it was a funny thing to say as he looked in the bucket and walked off. My husband found a long piece of rock and left it in the bucket for the spider to use to crawl out later. It was shy and trying to conceal itself.We then went inside the shop. It reeked of cigarette smoke and I was extremely disappointed to see the slovenly man behind the counter. My feelings for the place instantly shifted. The other 2 people working there (one of which was a female) neither greeted us or smiled. We picked out a few little trinkets inside the shop and left them in a basket while we went back outside to get our cathedral.On the way we checked on the spider, the shop assistant followed us and asked if it was still in the bucket, we said yes. But before we knew what was happening he picked up the long rock my husband had put in the bucket and slammed it down on the spider, killing it (or worse, maiming it). He put the lid on the bucket, sneered at us and walked back inside, he knew perfectly well he had shocked us both terribly.Sickened. My husband and I simply walked back to the car and drove away. We were so disturbed by this disgusting display of senseless killing. Im not even fond of spiders! But it wasnt harming anyone, it was outside and it was helpless. The experience ruined our special day. We will tell everyone we know to stay away from these IDIOTS at Gemstar Gemstone Co. and I will write this up as a post on our website.

Lots of gems at reasonable prices

We drove 3 hours to this store in utter excitement, only to be greeted by the rudest people. They had 5mins till they closed, which is our fault, but we were told they were open till 7pm, apparently its 5pm. We asked the woman if we picked out our stones in 5 mins BEFORE they close if they would serve us. She told us to get lost and had a grin on her face, she got such a kick out of denying us service, THEN proceeded to tell another woman in the store that she had 5 mins to pick out and buy what she wanted.DO NOT BUY STONES FROM THESE NEGATIVE PEOPLE!! They clearly install bad energy into all there stones, and its not worth the amount of cleansing you would have to do to rejuvenate them.Being in an energetic business, you would think they would practice love and light, but hardly any of the crystals shine on this property. I wasnt really drawn to anything in particular, but now I know it is because the universe would never want me to use one of their stones in my healing practice.

I am sad to say that since Jimmy passed away this store has seriously gone to pieces. Prices are going insane and the selection is very poor. Some of the stones are miss named and staff seem to be lacking in information.
