Everyone, do yourself a favor and dont use this business. My father is a decent mechanic, but a terrible human being. He has no problem lying, cheating, and stealing to get what he wants.Going to my father for service is like flipping a coin. You might get lucky, and hell fix your problem... or you might not, and he will screw you over in every way he possibly can.

Very good experience here. We were heading on a long road trip heard a noise in our vehicle the night before we were supposed to leave. The owner took us in at 8AM even with a full schedule and removed our tires and put the vehicle on a lift and checked it all out. Gave us reassurance that we would be okay and it was a minor issue that could be fixed later. He was right! We made it there and back no issues and will definitely take our vehicles here.

I pulled in to get an opinion/quote on what I suspected was lower ball joints. I got out of my truck as he met me he says sounds like you need lower ball joints. Immediately put my truck on the lift, showed me and explained to me the ins and outs, ups and downs, as I am not a lower ball joint guy. I have used him before, this bid was very responsible to me and he will be doing the work next week I would think. Going forward, unless something really bad happens that I absolutely do not expect, hes my Guy. Small, local, reasonable, and close. Few other things I will keep between us. Thats up to him to share.

Absolutely terrible mechanic. Not trustworthy. my cousin brought his car in and Mark was working on it... it was only a misfire and then after him looking at it the car wouldn’t start. He was there for 4 hours and no progress. He then proceeded to tell me I should get it towed and he was leaving. DO NOT GO HERE

Brought my 99 Ford Ranger there because it had a misfire, a lifter type rattling noise at start up and it had a slow radiator leak. Mark initially inspected the truck and said that it had a misfire in the #5 cylinder, most likely due to a bad spark plug, probably due to a small crack in it. He recommended that I change the plug and see how that does. Well, that did not correct the problem, so I made an appointment and brought it back a few days later for a more in depth diagnosis. Mark later called me and told me that they found excessive radiator fluid / water in the #4 and #5 cylinders and that the bottom line was, that I needed to replace / rebuild the motor. Mark then recommended that I go with a Jasper rebuilt motor, to the tune of $3000.00 for the motor alone, in addition to initially telling me that it would be 8 hours labor @ $85.00 hr. Plus the cost of external parts such as a water pump, radiator, gaskets, etc.....Each time I called to discuss options, the labor cost kept increasing, ultimately rising to 13.1 hours. In addition, could not get a straight answer on what he would charge to rebuild my motor. Telling me that a rebuild, doesnt really mean rebuilding, but just means tearing it down and fixing the problem. He went on to tell me that he could rebuild the motor for $1200.00 plus parts? When I asked what plus parts means he told me that it would not include any internal parts such as replacing a cracked head, or block, or other internal parts, or even as he termed cookies (small grinding disc pads and other shop items, etc...). I am not referring to external parts, which I know are not included, but doesnt rebuilding include these re-manufactured parts and shop tools ? When I order a hamburger, I dont pay extra for Ketchup, Mustard, etc.....Isnt this the cost of doing business? Obviously, the vehicle would not warrant repairing at this cost, so I began looking for a engine rebuilding company locally that could do the motor for less, ultimately finding one that could do it for $1200.00. (motor rebuild alone but $800.00 labor if I wanted to have them do it all) Well, this was still a lot of money to put into a 99 Ranger, so I began looking for a more affordable repair facility and a second opinion. I then picked up the vehicle (no charge at this point) and brought it to another local shop to take a look at. Well, needless to say, the engine was re-diagnosed and I was told that it pressure checked fine and ultimately found that it had a bad injector in the #5 cylinder. NO water / radiator fluid was found in any part of the motor and that the reason for the misfire, was a bad injector. They then told me that there is most likely a small leak in either the water pump, or another place, but NOT within the motor itself and that I did not need an entire motor. They put a industrial strength injector cleaner in the vehicle and guess what? It corrected the misfire and the cold start chatter. After speaking to Mark at Stellfox Auto, I was initially convinced that I would need a new motor, etc.......His absolute misdiagnosis nearly cost me over $4000.00 or the scrapping of my vehicle. Thank goodness I got a second, more knowledgeable opinion, which ultimately cost me $30.00 to fix. Grant it, there is still a small leak somewhere (which they put dye into the fluid to detect) but they are nearly certain that it is somewhere external, not a cracked head or block as Mark improperly diagnosed.

Beware. Brought car in for repair. Owner called to tell me he couldnt start vehicle. I explained that there was no issue when I brought it in. Owner got irate and became very rude to the point I had to stop the conversation to tell him I didnt appreciate how he was speaking to me.More so because it wasnt even my own vehicle.he said he tried starting the vehicle for 8 MINUTES!! I went to the shop and INSTANTLY started the car up. At which point do to im assuming being embarrassed he wasnt even man enough to talk to me so he went out back and had his employee tell me they may not be the right fit . This individual is a garbage business man who lacks customer service and just people skills in general. And in all likelihood was looking to gouge us. Hell unfortunately do fine here ripping off seniors. If you dont like to be spoken to like a child and expect even mediocre professionalism or courtesy I highly recommend avoiding this shop.
