This is the gas station I prefer on my way to work. Theyre always fast in the morning and friendly. Coffee is usually kept full even during peak hours. You know its reliable because several different businesses send their fleets here to fuel up before their daily rounds. Everything is easy to find and it always seems pretty clean.
The Edgewood/Erlanger location on Dixie Hwy has ALWAYS been the absolute worse thorntons Ive ever been ! Today was the last day I will EVER walk in those doors. Ive truly never seen two people more sorry rude and quiet frankly down right pathetic than the 2 there now ! I dont know why this store has always been like that and truly has only gotten worse I dont know if its the management or what it is but its awful I myself will now be following quite a few to never walk back in the store again . When you walk into a store with two workers and one customer and ask if they can refill a fountain drink and they want to stand there and look at each other complaining about changing out a lousy box for the fountain machine and blatantly proceed to do something else and ignore that fact of it needing changed are you kidding me my mind is blown just simply blown. These two people have absolutely zero business being in that store or in the field of customer service in any way shape or form Ive never seen such sorry display of so called workers in my life !
The guy working this shift not sure didnt catch his name:( However he was great!! I wasnt sure of they were opened or closed and when I pulled in he was outside I asked if they were closed I just wanted to get a cup of coffee he replied sure come on in were opening... While I was making my coffee we conversated he was just confronting and overall pleasant.. Im traveling to Ohio from Florida so anytime I go to another state and get great service I make sure to give recognition and leave them a review for higher-ups to hear positive feedback.... Thanks my new lil tucky buddy!!! Come see us in FLORIDA sometime!!!!!!!!
Love the pnc atm since the closest pnc is clocktower way
I went here this morning (about 10:30)searching for newspapers. I was happy to find a nice selection of newspapers available. I was 3rd or 4th person in line. The working cashier greeted, thanked, and wish everyone who made a purchase a good day except when it was my turn to purchase a paper. Strangely enough, I know of someone else who had a bad experience by a cashier who challenged the authenticity of his valid drivers license and used a tone of voice of authority and demeaning. I suspect their might be bias imbedded in the culture of the company and/or the management of the company. Consumer beware.
Love Thorntons! Especially my gas perks!! Merry Christmas 🎄Thank you!
When I walk into a convenient store, I dont expect the service to be stellar. But the girl working the register tonight was ridiculous. She never spoke to me. Too busy speaking to her associate to tell me how much my merchandise was, even after I asked her. I had change. Were supposedly in a coin shortage, but she paid no attention. She did decide to remark as I was leaving, bye I got change. Absolutely ridiculous behavior!
They had good gas and easy to get in and out pulling a travel trailer
I love stopping at Thorntons especially when I am in an ultra hurry! I swear that their gas pumps are literally the fastest in town! It gets even better. They have a first rate coffee center with different flavors and strengths. Great early morning snacks and treats to get you to lunch and even carry a good number of essentials that might get you back home in the evening without an additional stop. Dont let the lines fool you because the staff is both fast and friendly! As, Always Enjoy!
Plenty of places to get gas in the area, but where to go? A while back, I enjoyed 3 cents off at Speedway for being a part of their rewards program but then one day, they just suddenly stopped doing that with no explanation. Then I frequented the Shell across the street and got 5 cents off from Kroger rewards, but now its a Circle K so that no longer applies. So then I decided to start going to this Thorntons and am pleased so far. Their rewards system is pretty nice - members can enjoy 3 cents off gas. Occasionally I receive an offer for 6 cents off. Not too long after I used the first offer they sent me, they went ahead and sent me another! Its easy to sign up - I did it on my phone the first time I went there to get gas and bam! 3 cents off, just like that. When it comes to gas stations, I never really go inside the store, so I cant say what Thorntons is like. I just want to know who has the best rewards program so that I can save a little on gas whenever I need to get some.
Had an amazing experience with a dude who was belting out some great music when I went to the counter. Im not sure how to give him a positive performance review so this is my of doing it. My experience occurred on August 28th, 2019 at approximately 1:25 p.m. Amazing and enthusiastic person. I dont review places ever but this occurrence deserves one. Will go again if this dude is working!
Staff is too busy playing on phones to get any work done. Spent 30 mins trying to get lottery tickets. The lady worker acted like I was interrupting her peaceful night. All that time wasted and still didnt get my tickets made correctly. Asked for her name 5 times before she told me she isnt paid to treat people nicely and kicked me out.
Ok service
Watch out if youre filling up here before returning a rental car to the airport. My pump kept cutting off early (I even tried topping off 3 times) and I didnt get a complete fill up. I ended up getting charged a refuelling fee at the car rental return.
Smell of burning incense inside? Trash piled up around dumpster and all over parking lot. Really gone downhill lately.
Best place to go! People are friendly and helpful and some have been working there for over ten years.
The staff is amazing! Give them raises ;)
One of my favorite gas stations. Great prices for premium gas!
Nice place and people, they are a great place to stop.
I was here the Saturday before fathers day. I was in town to spend time with family in Lookout Farm. (B/tween Florence & Covington if unfamiliar w/N. KY.) I have been to this Thortons probably 50+ times in my life. I lived in this area most of my life. Hell, I remember when this place wasnt even here. (Aging myself) Sorry getting off point. I wanted to give background for comparison Im doing. Ive been in Louisville about 8 yrs. I like it mostly. Now, Im stopping the Edgewood Thortons its really close to my parents. It was clean, spotless even, well stocked, self serve pop machine was sparkling, well with you know cups, straws, etc. with no garbage thrown everywhere, no sticky floor or sticky straw holders, as it should be. Was this locale just emaculate or was it that Im so used to the Louisville stores, which somehow NEVER LOOK THIS WAY, Ive forgotten that this is the normal Thortons Store. I dont want to seem like Im picking on Louisville, I dont want to, I live in Louisville. Im giving a honest review. Now, next point is staff. Edgewood store greeted us as we walked in the door and asked as if they could assist us in finding something because it was obvious we were looking for a specific item. Keep in mind the store was packed, it was Sat. 5pm sunny, Fathers Day wknd so people getting gas, lottery, beer, icees, you know typical gas/mart place we all visit alot. The staff, although EXTREMELY BUSY, was not only helpful, but pleasant, I mean it nice, interested in us, and just plain nice. We talked about Lottery with cashiee since we were purchasing a large amount for a gift. She even recommended a place to buy a Fathers Day card not knowing I knew the area well. I just thanked her it was to busy to keep her talking. Now folks, I know Im being sarcastic, but why is it like that? Not just that visit, its EVERYTIME. Its not just the Edgewood store thats nice its most stores outside of of Louisville. Im starting to think its not so much about the Great, Polite, Clean, and Well Stocked locations its about the stores that ARE UNCLEAN, RUDE, UNSTOCKED, AND UNPROFESSIONAL in Louisville. (Mainly Southend, Poplar Level, Taylorsville Rd.) but other Louisville stores too. I am not saying that its like that every time, but it is 80% of the time.Seems always understaffed and mostly the staff is so rude seem almost mad that you came in the store. Well maybe they are rude because they are understaffed and unable to properly perform their job duties. A Thortons by the Watterson has one of the meanest ladies Ive ever met behind a counter. Like that to everyone. I started going to a competition store. Im sorry but thats how it seems to be. Not sure what changes in less than 100 miles north of here, but it seems to. Corporate should explore why the drastic differences. Its night and day. One being a bright, sunny, warm, top off the jeep kinda day. The other a cloudy, raining buckets, dont make me turn this car around, are we there yet kinda day. My opinion, everybody has one is if possible do yourself a favor, gas up, get your coffee, and use the bathroom before or after Louisville Thorton Gas Marts. Its cleaner, quicker, and friendlier that way. P. S. Dont get me going on the Damn Bathrooms!!
Clean and nice gas station.
Very clean and organized.
Cheap gas
