I bought metal scraps so I can practice my welding skills. The metal was reasonably price. Their were quite a few customers so I had to wait my turn.

Went in yesterday afternoon 4:40pm....they close at 5. Needed one 20...3 cuts. They said the saw was closed. Why stay open then...if the saw closes for the day at a certain time then you should be closed. The guy in yard was polite...just poor operation.

Well its an industrial metals shop so nothing fancy. They said my material was in stock but it wasnt when I arrived for pickup. Kinda my fault. I should have made sure it was ready at will call before I stopped by. Good prices for bulk metal and they have some really good prices on surplus if you get lucky and they have what you need.

They sell wrought iron for decorative window and balcony features, and offer welding services too. Aluminum, stainless steel, iron and bar stock. Will cut to your specs for a small fee. Very good service.

First time visiting its a cluster f&%k... the guys on there floor are friendly and efficent. The girl at the checkout window is a miserable human that clearly hates her job.Really distasteful and off putting for sure, like everyone is supposed to know the company procedures walking in the door for the first time.When you show up check in with one of the guys on the floor, they will write you a cut ticket, then you take that to the cashiers window and pay.... If not youll waste time standing in line to pay for material and have to deal with condensing Ms. Personality herself who will rudely instruct on seeing the guys first.Totally a$$ backwards from any other steel supply on earth.

Its a good supply of your everyday needs. Doesnt always have everything so I suggest you call in before you go. Very friendly staff and pretty quick service.

Not sure I agree with any of the low reviews, and not sure what people expect...after all its a metal supply shop. I dont particularly expect world class service. Well priced, decent enough customer service. Been going here for years havent had a bad experience.

The place can be a bit hectic, best you have an idea of what you want. Nate is a good guy and Rachquel setup my account with great pricing. Dont expect to be waited on, the workers are busy. Good selection of steel for sure.

Great staff, Super friendly. Joel there helped me out and assisted me on my project. He explained the benefits of certain products as I wss comparing them. Great deals to be had here too!!

Never had a problem here. The workers are great. Some of the workers saw me standing around (while waiting for my pieces to get cut) and they came up to me to check if Ive been helped.Decent supply of new and used metal. Even the new metal has decent prices.

I shop here a lot - material to fabricate various stuff. i do NOT agree about the bad staff ignores you its a metal yard... with skilled labor staff. if you walk over, wait and talk once they are free, and treat them as the experienced and skilled people they are i have found them to be incredibly informative, helpful and always happy to help out.

Great place to go if youre feeling the need to be ignored. They can walk around avoiding you like the best of them. Decent inventory but they were out of what I was looking for of course.

Great inventory for the specialty contractor. any kind of material in any shape new or used. cut to length and loaded in your truck. If you dont know what you want and wouldnt know it if it bit you dont blame them. If you dont know what you are doing dont blame them. If you dont know how to behave dont expect any mercy.If you cant explain what you want and expect them to figure it out,they will walk right past you to wait on me. I have used Escondido Metal Supply for several years. They always have what I need, their prices are as good or better than any place Ive found. I have not had problems with their customer service. They will continue to be my first choice when I need metal.

I have used this company for years, not often but several times a year. They are always busy and sometimes you will need to wait for help. As with any business, staffing is a huge cost and we all deal with getting staffing levels right. I find everyone there always helpful and they always seem to to have what I want and the quantities that I need. Good pricing and a knowledgeable staff. Dont know why that other person bashed them, never had an issue..

Very poor service. I asked for a certain size of tubing, and they pointed to their metal yard and said, just go find it. Obviously, I couldnt so I came back and said that I didnt understand their organization. I was then told that there was no organization and I just needed to look for it. I easily found my truck and left.

Most annoying people to deal with. Slowest workers, dont seem to care about anything and ridiculous prices. Only reason I find myself in here is because i moved shop location but i will now continue to go through competitive metals even with the added distance. Highly recommend not coming here 👎👎👎👎

I found the staff to be helpful, friendly and professional. It is a steel yard for Pete sake, it is hot, dirty, sweaty work and you are absolutely right, it is not Nordstroms. Get real, they sell metal not dresses! and they do a damn good job.!

Downhill... 10 years ago they were expensive but local, I can deal with that. But now very expensive, and rude. I got there an hour before they closed, totally ignored, walked up to a guy, he turned his back to me and walked away, no he was not busy or doing something else. Finally went up to the register to ask for help, waited 15 minutes (ignored) and she called over the PA for help, waited another 10, and was then told, the saw is shut down for the day. IMS gets my future business!

Unhelpful employees, and an archaic disjointed way of doing business (writing tickets). They also dont mind to keep you waiting.NOTE: they will NOT perform any metal cuts 30min-closing time. (Essentially, they close some of their services 30 minutes prior to their advertised closing time.) I wish North County had another metal yard with similar (or more!) stock, and slightly longer hours on the weekdays and on Saturday.

I agree with the rest of the people it is the worst customer service skills. And also ignore all customers unless you are a female. Yesterday when I was there I could not get one guy to help me with some sheets but there was a lady that need it some small rods and 3 guys were on it. Hope management sees what customers have to say about there place.

Its like you and the employees are playing hide and go seek, and they never come find you. They also got half my order incorrect, and im stuck with too much of what I dont need and not enough of what I do

Its a metal shop, a manly place. Dont roll up in your Lexus SUV and expect it to look like Nordstroms.The guys are very helpful in helping you find what you need. They will direct you to the scrap pile first to give you the opportunity to save some $. Their prices are very reasonable and the nice yard guy helps me load up my truck.Great selection of metal and funky surpluss stuff like the large ammo cans for $10.

Slow. Slow. Slow. No connection between office and yard. You have to find someone walking arround and hand them the slip to get material cut. They wont communicate with the guys in the shop. I watched my ticket get passed between 3 people and am still waiting.

I called for clarification and was treated very rudely. I have never been on the phone with a business and have the receptionist raise their voice at me or get mad because of a mistake I mad while asking a question.

Kinda pricey compared to IMS. Also, service is pretty poor as mentioned before. I got there a little under an hour before posted closing time and the showroom was already closed and they stopped cutting metal 45m before closing time. Not a smile to be found in the whole place and seemed like you were putting them out asking them to do anything.

Worst customer service experience.
