Extremely disappointing and unprofessional! If i could give zero stars, i would! How does this car company even stay in business! I drove 30 minutes here, and now driving 30 minutes home! I had a scheduled appointment for today, October 30, 2021 @ 9:30 am to purchase a vehicle. I had a certified check in hand ready to drive off the lot today! At 9:20 am, I received a call to confirm my appointment. At 9:30am, I pulled into the Hyundai Customer parking lot when i received a call from Santez (car salesman) informing me that the car i was to purchase already had a down payment on it weeks ago and their system wasn’t updated therefore the car is unavailable. Then he proceeded to attempt to sell me the same car model, different color for a more expensive price. This is absolutely not okay. He wasted my time and gas money and i will never recommend anyone to come here! This is atrocious and they should be held accountable!
When I purchased this vehicle, I was really exciting and happy. Because I been told I have 6 years 75000 miles free maintenance. Before I signed the papers, I even asked one more time “ can I have the service in West Covina Audi? Because it’s the closest location to me”, I got the answer was “sure, just key in key out, it’s free”.Now, almost a year, I’m going to do the first time service. But I got rejection from West Covina Audi. End up confirmed with my sales representative, he said “only go back to any Hyundai dealership “.Just remind everybody, when any sales are talking about a great deal with you, better record everything!
All reps were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great experience buying a car here. Michael Lopez and David were great. Answered all questions we had and were very kind.
I had an amazing experience with Hyundai Escondido, the staff there was extremely exceptional. From the time we arrived to the time we were able to drive off the lot. Jose Leon is an incredible guy, need more salesmen like him.

I purchased my used car here at the beginning of February. I worked with Mr. Michael Lopez who was friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. The sales manager and finance person got me a full point better on my loan than I had already arranged through my credit union. The whole purchase process went quite easily.I did experience an issue with the vehicle, however Mr. Lopez and the service manager, Garth, did everything necessary to make it right. While this did necessitate a couple trips back, they did provide me with a Lyft ride to work at no cost.
Left my car there for a diagnosis from Thursday morning all the way until Wednesday morning and I did not get any answers. Usually had to text them to receive updates - they were not communicative, and when they did communicate, there was literally no punctuation and the texts were barely comprehensible. Only gave 2 stars because they didnt charge me for this waste of time. And at least they washed the outside of my car.
Had a break in a wire due to a rodent. This dealership insisted the entire harness be replaced for ~$9,000 with 40 hrs labor instead of a simple repair of the wire. They insisted the wire was connected to safety elements and as such they require replacement instead of repair due to liability. After talking to the service manager I found out this is not a Hyundai policy but a local dealer policy. I went to my insurance and they estimated $760 for the repair. I ended up taking the car home and performing the repair myself in 15 minutes. There was NO reason to replace the entire wire harness!!! They get 2 star because they also performed a standard 18K maintenance at the same visit and they was performed well and they also washed the car as an added benefit. Had they simply repaired the wire they would have received 5 star.
Three Strikes: First they never called me back to schedule the three recalls nor did they order the parts the first time. Second, they provided a courtesy car wash and power washed the paint off both the hood and rear bumper. Strike three was all they provided was an apology as the touch up paint was out of stock. Now I understand what dealership horror stories come from.

You will be in a great trouble when you want to go for the first free service!!We bought a new Tuscan two months ago, and we have been told the first free service is on 5000 miles, and the build in reminder in car would inform us at the right time! Well, Nothing have shown up, and we asked the dealer, Mario, about it. He told the light will be on for a conservative drivers on 7000 miles and reminder will guide you when the first service is. Nothing has shown up again, and we had asked their online chat expert to schedule an appointment and nobody called after that!Finally, we went to their place, asking this in person, and they told we are already exceed from the free services ( we are on 7500 miles now), and we should pay for the first service ourselves! So why there is no one who can answer clearly and take care of the customer properly!?Please take care of your customers at least for the first service, you are supposed to offer free service for three years, and I am so sad we paid more to extend this FREE (!!) service for a longer period!

I live in Orange County and have been shopping for a car for weeks. It has been frustrating with all the mark ups dealers are forcing you with.I called Hyundai Escondido not hoping for better results.I got Mario who told me he would give me what I wanted not what they want.A few phone calls later and a quote by email I was driving there to get my Tucson. Believe me it was 9k cheaper than what I was quoted in my area. No mark up whatsoever.Robert the finance manager is a gem.. first time in my life i was not in a hurry at all to leave a dealership.If anyone out there is looking for a car just give them a call. You wont regret it.

My overall experience with Hyundai of Escondido was good. i wish I would have gotten more explanation on the features of the car, but I didnt ask either. The sales team was great, Michel Lopez was great (kinda reminds me of Mario Lopez... aye), but over all, if your interested in a Hyundai, I highly recommend them. They are great to talk too and they really explained to me my options for buying. Better than the other dealers I went too.

Set up an appointment for a recall 3 weeks in advance on a Saturday. That’s the only time they had. Set it up for first thing in the morning. Was told this headlight recall would not take long. I show up 10 min before my appointment and was greeted rudely by the person that takes your keys and takes pictures. He tells me to wait for a service advisor to be ready. No problem (they seem to be helping one person at a time, Covid protocols?). I get to the advisor, and he wants all of my info. Tell him Hyundai already had it (they reached me by mail and email about the recall). He seems annoyed I don’t want to give him all of that info. He then asks if it’s okay for them to call me when it’s done. I say yes, and ask when it will be done. He says it should be the end of the day (the “should” didn’t register). I went to call for a ride so I wouldn’t have to wait. As I’m calling it registers that he said should. I go back inside to talk to him. The first person is there again and the advisor left. I ask him if “should” means it will be done today or not. He said it would be. I said he said should, is it guaranteed? He said you have to talk to the service advisor. I ask if he can get him/call him, since he had left his desk. He rolls his eyes and sighs loudly and walks off to get him. The service advisor comes back. I ask if it will be done today. He again says should but doesn’t know what other appointments they have (they set the appointments, so I don’t understand this). I ask what happens if they don’t finish. He says they will finish on Monday. I say I can’t leave it until Monday because of work. I ask if there are options for loaners or another car if they can’t finish the recall. He said he has no loaners and the rental car place they use is closed for weekends. I asked why they set up an appointment they can’t meet. He says you didn’t, your appointment is with the service advisor, not for a tech. I tell him never mind, I can’t risk leaving it here and not having it finished. I ask for my keys. He says they are in the car. The first guy goes out with me and starts snatching their stuff out of my car.So I understand service advisors are not in customer service. They are supposed to understand the car, the repairs they set up, and articulate that to the customer. They did not to that, they did not communicate how long this could take, they did not give any options if they couldn’t finish it, all while being rude about it. It is all very frustrating. Again, I know they are not customer service, but a dealership gets people in the cars with sales people and keeps people coming back with a service department that is respectful, honest, upfront, and helpful. This department is none of those.
Despite the service prices being inordinately high, the service I received was exemplary. Id like to recognize both Ricardo Aguirre and Mikey Paolino for their respective roles in getting my car done in a most timely fashion.Ricardo was able to provide a discount that was surprising and welcome. In addition, his personality was quite engaging and enjoyable. Mikey was able to work on my car probably beyond his normal timetable which resulted in it being ready AHEAD of the early time that he promised. I thought that was fantastic and I was able to do other things I had planned for the day.
I really enjoyed the whole experience. I had a recall notice on my Santa Fe and I can honestly say that Kodi Spicer treated me with respect and professionalism to the nth degree. No complaints AT ALL!!!
The service was fine. However having show up at 10:20 only to find a long line ahead of me was not good. Why not have me snow up WHEN my car can be serviced?.

Everyone was great to speak to on the phone and to deal with. They went above and beyond what we needed for our vehicle! If I could leave more than 5 stars I would.
NO stars if it would let me post.I took my hubbys car in to have a metal to metal sound investigated and a check engine light. Took it in at 9am and was told I would hear from them by 4pm. I didnt hear a thing. You cant get a hold of anyone in the service department. You have to leave a message and my new service agent wasnt even listed on their phone list. Called the next day and no answer or return call. Drove down their and was read a list of hoses and fluids that need changing and A NEW ENGINE!! Are you kidding me? What would be the purpose of new fluid and hoses if they tell me a new engine. Device agent called technician to verify they really suggested a new engine.Find anywhere else to take your car!!!
This is one of the shadiest and dishonest places in the business. They are always trying to get that extra dollar out of you. When I bought my car they kept us there for 4 hours and then when we agreed on the out of door price we went to the finance guy and he had it $2000 more. They also told me I have an incredible “certified pre owned” warranty and I went to get my car serviced and Ended up paying a few hundred dollars for basic service that the sales people told me were covered in the warranty. Anyone that goes here leave if they keep you longer than 30 minutes…. LEAVE

I asked the operator to transfer me to the finance dept. It goes to some extension does not tell you who it is and says that extension cannot accept any more messages. Then I asked the operator on my next call to transfer me to a sales manager. Same result. A few days later I called and asked for the sales manager again. Operator transferred me to an extension. It did not say who it was but I left a message. NO CALL BACK. A few more days I try for the finance dept again. Nope can’t leave a message. Here I am trying to PURCHASE a high dollar vehicle service contract and nobody seems to want to sell me something. A couple months ago I had left a 2 voice mails over 4 days for my service advisor. NO call back. This time I was able to reach a sales manager. Low and behold Kodi calls me back that day sounding very aggravated that he was told to. I have no idea WHO is running this dealer. It’s like it changed over 11 mos. Is it a new owner? Does the operator not know the extensions of people? Are they busy enough they don’t care? Either way they are awful now. It’s like they have made a company decision to just not answer calls and not call back when messages are left. Kearny Mesa Genesis actually answers the phone. I left a message with their finance person and was called back in 2 hours and he said sorry I could not get back to you sooner!! Take a lesson Escondido. I have both of my cars serviced at this dealer and I need to reconsider that. My lease is up in one month and NO WAY I will go there for my next car. When I was there the service dept was going gang busters so maybe right now they don’t need our business. But they will someday. It’s cyclical. Perhaps there is a new owner who changed the corporate culture. Who knows. But expect a bad experience if you try to talk to someone there by phone. I still had the cell phone of my sales person (Sayuri). I called and she answered and is going to try and help me. But she is up against a tall order. This dealership has FALLEN from grace.

Hyundai of Escondido USED to be very professional, courteous, thorough and FAIR. Im not so sure anymore!!!!* Excessive diagnostic charges.* Misleading information provided regarding warranty terms.* Returning vehicle not fully reassembled.* Inaccurate assertions about urgently needed service (filters, brakes,..)Hyundai makes great vehicles. I only wish I could have better confidence in their dealerships service departments.My initial review was much more critical, but they have taken SOME steps to improve, so Ive softened my criticisms a bit and added a couple of stars.Apparently, they are sensitive about these reviews, because I was asked FOUR times to make changes, even before they actually were able to complete the work I initially went in for.FOUR TIMES - telling me I need to improve my rating.(Thats not a good look Hyundai Escondido)
I had a great 👍 time. A diagnostic test was ran & the fix took a couple of days. I was provided with a rent a car without saying a word. My car is now running great.
I purchased my new 2021 Venue with ease and confidence at Hyundai of Escondido. The team was very helpful and I felt that I was being taken seriously every step of the way, most importantly with the negotiations and terms of sale. I felt supported throughout the process and that they were genuinely as excited for me to have a new car as I was. Guys are great and were crazy busy. Only bummer is it took 5 hrs for oil change. I was told when making an appointment that i could wait. Awesome thing is they provide Lyft service home and back.
I wouldn’t even give Hyundai of Escondido any stars if I could. My daughters car broke down on the 15 freeway back in November 2020. She called Hyundai they wanted her to tow the car to Escondido, she said no they came and picked it up. They had the car till June 2021. The car sat outside for that long until. She found out she needed a new engine that Hyundai sonata hybrid we’re having problems with. Then they called her and said another piece was recalled that they had to fix. They had her car so long sitting outside not running, she finally got her car back last week. Four days later her car signaled her the engine overheated. How can you give a customerTheir car back and saying they did 100% quality check and everything is fine. Now Hector the service manager is giving her grief and an attitude.
Asked for an oil change, tire rotation and to fix a couple of things under warranty. I mentioned that the passenger seat belt would alarm with only my cell phone on the seat. Rick the service writer said “that is normal”. 4 days later and my calls to check on my car were not returned. Finally after leaving an angry message, Rick called me back. He stated the technician thought I must have a really heavy cellphone in order to trigger the seat belt alarm. I said to forget all of the warranty issues, just do the service and I will pick up my car. Next time I will us Jorge, my original service writer and get better service.
Great car buying experience. We worked with Alma Sanchez and she made this a very easy and smooth experience. She took the time to listen to what we wanted and got to the bottom line very quickly. She found the perfect car that fit our needs and had everything ready so all we had to do was show up, test drive and sign paperwork. I would recommend working with Alma and this dealership. I went in looking for. number s on a vehicle I was interested in. I was helped by JOSE MARTINEZ (sales personnel) but in a rude way. When it came to the numbers, I tried to get a better deal but he literally told me why am I here wasting his time. I replied what do you mean? Its my time too he then proceeded to say I dont get paid hourly I get paid for every car I sale. So after being told that it made it seem like here at Hyundai of Escondido all they want is people that come in ready to by with out seeing any numbers since he isn’t hourly and is off the commission of selling a vehicle. So if you decide to go into this dealer ship and you happen to speak to Jose make sure you are a hundred percent ready to by a vehicle before he makes you feel like someone of less importance since he’s not hourly like other people ! So if youre in the market for a new vehicle look elsewhere .

My battery was dead so I went to Hyundai Escondido to have them check if I needed a new one or just have the battery charged. I did not have an appointment but I explained that I had to have it fixed since I had to go to the airport early the next morning.A young employee explained that he did not believe they would be able to take care of the problem since they were fully booked. He went to Victor Guerrero who came to me and said, without hesitation, we will take care of you.I was so very relieved. They checked the battery and found it to be ok. Something must have been left on that drained the battery. I offered to pay for the service and was told once again by Victor that we will take care of you.I had turned down the offer to have them wash my car, so thinking there was a charge,, I agreed to have it washed. Again, I was told there was no chargeThe result was a freshly washed car that had a battery that did not need to be replaced.Because of Victor and his very pleasant, helpful manner, Hyundai of Escondido is my go to dealer for service.I had a Hyundai part recall that needed to be serviced, but I was told by another dealer that the part was not available and to check back every 2 or 3 weeks to see if it was in. I mentioned it to Victor and asked if he had a chance to see if there was any news about the part and let me know. I received a call from Victor this afternoon and set an appointment to have the recalled item replaced in mid-September.As I said, my go to Hyundai dealer for servicing. The best service from an automobile service department that I have ever had.Thanks Victor. You provided me fantastic service for my car and now have a new client.C. Worley.
I thought the whole car buying experience was great. My salesman, his boss and the finance manager all seemed to listen and I got a great interest rate on the car I wanted. They are professional but are at the ready to put a compelling package together on your selected vehicle.
These guys were awesome! They worked hard at enabling me to get the best used car available while buying my previous vehicle which closed the deal. I am very impressed and highly recommend Hyundai Escondido (CA).
Update! Everyone except Vicente is SO helpful genuine and honestly just made me feel like they really wanted to help me out with getting exactly what I want :) Jordan primarily (who’s the best) and a few of the other sales rep were so sweet and helpful, the manager David really helped me ALOT too… I suggest requesting Robert for going over the details of your sale, he is very thorough so you won’t agree to anything you don’t see. Got my 2021 Ioniq hybrid Plug in at Hyundai Escondido. The sales associate, Derek Jones did a phenomenal job on helping me find the car that I want. Very courteous and professional, and willing to work with your needs and wants. Totally recommend this dealership. Ask for Derek for smooth car buying process.
The service advisor was extremity helpful with the warranty issues. He found out when the parts would arrive so I could bring my vehicle back in. The early bird drop off was convenient.
I highly recommend that you NOT do business here. My husband and I scheduled a time to test drive a vehicle and when we arrived we were assigned a gentleman by the name of Albert. I test drive the vehicle and really liked it so I figured we would start to try to run numbers. We were however open with the salesman and informed him that we did have another appointment to test drive a vehicle at another dealership so that we could weigh the two. From there, while taking our application information, the salesman wasted our time trying to small talk I think in hopes of delaying our other appointment. He also insisted/tried to convince me several times that I should test drive the other type of vehicle at his dealership even though I told him I did not want to and I wanted to buy brand new, not used. Once he took all of our application information, we kindly asked him to please call us with the information and he asked us to stay for just a few minutes because they were almost done. I kindly asked him to please simply call us and give us back the documents we provided for our trade in. After going to the back office, he came back and said it would be just a few minutes until he had a decision and still didn’t give us our registration paperwork for our current car. At this point, we were so frustrated because we also had our very young son with us and needed to go, however, Albert didn’t seem to care. We went outside to wait for our documents and answer since Albert kept putting it off (we told him we were going outside). After about 15 more minutes, he still had not provided either pieces of information. My husband went into the dealership and asked for our papers please. He kept getting put off. 40 MINUTES LATER AND MULTIPLE REQUESTS LATER, MY HUSBAND SAW ALBERT ASSISTING OTHER CUSTOMERS INSTEAD. Apparently, our business wasn’t much of a priority. My husband finally went to the front desk and became stern with the receptionist and thanks to her (she was amazing, only part that was), we finally obtained OUR documents. Albert then appeared out of nowhere and apologized that they became so busy and that it would be just a few minutes. My husband informed him that he had lost the sale and not to bother since he decided to tend to other customers and refused to give us our things. Not to mention, we were NEVER provided with our application results. No email, no phone call, no nothing. I have NEVER received service as bad as we did from Albert. It seemed he was too greedy to try to get multiple sales instead of tending to his current customers. Go somewhere else where your business will be appreciated.

Absolute lack of professionalism and bait-and-switch game.My wife and I went to this dealership last week to test drive a new Santa Fe. Before driving there, I emailed and asked if the MSRP reported in their website (already including ~$1k worth of add-ons) is the real sale price or there are other hidden fees and market adjustments charges. Some one from the dealership quickly called, and when I asked this exact same question he VERIFIED that no such surprises exist for that specific car.So we drove to the dealership, were helped by one of their sale reps, test drove the car, happened to like it and got back to office for finish a deal. This is when things got very shady. The sale rep who was helping us was standing at the corner of the office when his manager came into the room and when I asked for the final price (all-in) so I could make arrangement with my bank, he told me that he will add a security/alarm system for ~1,495. When I told him that was opposite to what I was told over the phone, he just dismissed it, didnt bother to apologize, and sarcastically said he would instruct his staff for next time.This is shady business, and what this young manger did was completely unprofessional. I have a message for him: computer chip shortage will pass and respect for customer will return; but this review will stay here forever for everyone to see and know what type of business person you are.
Needed a service appointment, today is 8/24/21. Next available appointment is 9/10/21...THAT IS NOT SERVICE!! Has every Hyundai vehicle broken down? Or do they all have factory recalls?? Makes you wonder.

It’s been a little over a month since we purchased a 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack from this dealership. We have used these vehicles in our business for several years - so we knew exactly what we wanted. We actually watched the vehicle sit for at least 45 days (unsold) due to their inaccurate pricing or terrible customer service (as we later found out).Long story short - after three or four visits over close to two months, we actually did purchase the vehicle. This had nothing to do with this establishment - since we had visited each time prepared to write a check should the business set the actual price OR as it turned out, find a (or any) sales staff of manager that wouldn’t waste our time - or treat us like we were not ignorant of the vehicles we have driven for years (the manager literally tried to “teach” us what a Carfax report was - since he thought it supported their inflated pricing.)Hyundai of Escondido - you literally are the worst dealership we’ve ever seen. I can’t express - to anyone reading this - how far away I would recommend you stay away from this establishment. So wasteful of our time. Such terrible service - so disrespectful. Sad.F-.

I went in because I was getting a warning on my 2014 sonata hybrid Limited blue link that said CHECK ENGINE DO NOT DRIVE CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM, it scared me to death LOL. To save a buck I originally had the car towed to Pep Boys but they couldn’t do anything with it since the code P1B70 was showing it had to do with the hybrid battery so I had to bring it to Hyundai. Thankfully it was diagnosed at Hyundai as needing an update not a new battery. Next time I get a warning I’ll probably just take it straight to Hyundai because in the long run this cost me a lot more money and time. Great customer service by Ricardo Aguirre.

The worst service ever and Ive been around dealerships and I know all of them are always hungry to put you in a vehicle but this one was the horrible Experience I would highly highly not recommend this dealership.. Especially the GM in charge they are unprofessional Disrespectful in such low class.. Contacting the BBB they will be hearing soon..

We purchased a Palisade from Sayuri. The process was easy. Unlike a lot of other dealers, who allow you to drive to them to see a specific car only to reveal that they are charging up to 15 percent over msrp, none of those games we’re played here. Escondido Hyundai was honest and transparent with pricing. I would definitely recommend.
Had work done there asked for the service manager to call me as of yet still has not. Not recommending them or the one in Poway.
They took a long time to finish 3 months to be exact..But so far so good.No car trouble yet.An i,ve had my car back for about a week now.
Great service. Kodi was straight forward about the services my car needed and I never felt he tried upselling. The repairs were done in time and I was on my way in no time.
We brought our car in due to the engine light being on… 13 days later we picked it up and the engine light was still on. We were not contacted until our car was in the shop for 10 days with an alternative aftermarket part that we would’ve chosen the first day had we had the option. They turn the service engine light off but a day later it is now back on again. Very frustrating
I missed the Nate Diaz fight because Mr. Lopez, Michael Lopez that is, is a dope dude, with vibes that are honest, funny, and comforting. Came to check out inventory, used or new, and walked out, or more like drove out in a new Elantra. Must say, I didn’t feel pressured or like I was getting the usual run around. If your interested in a new car or a used car call or go see Michael. He’ll take good care of you.
Sent me a $425 work order on top of work that was already done. The $425 apparently was just to tell me what the codes said. The person I spoke with had no knowledge what the issues were yet wanted me to sign a work order “he said” Then they would tell me what the issues were with my car. I called back several times and left a message for the manager of the service department to call me as of yet have not received a callback.

Mike Lopez was absolutely amazing!! We came in with a lease return and he was diligent and personable. He really anticipated our needs and was super full helpful throughout the entire process. His sales manager David Hernandez was also extremely kind. Sometimes it feels like car salesmen are only out to make a sale, but they truly wanted to help us and it didn’t feel like that at all. Ive always tried my hardest to avoid going to a car dealership because it is very difficult dealing with car salesmen. Needless to say, I just bought a new vehicle and it couldnt have gone any better, I got a great deal and nothing but honesty and the full attention of sayuri torres. They seem like good people and you should definitely feel at ease if doing business with Hyundai of Escondido.
JOSE HERNANDEZ is a vary honest salesman. I highly recommend this guy to anyone who is serious about buying a car. He is to the point and vary knowledgeable about his cars. They had a broad selection to choose from and the staff in general was vary polite and friendly making my whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Terrible service department. My car was there and after 2 weeks the problem was not solved. They are not responsive and after they returned the car defective they are not even responding my calls to take the car back and fix it. Do not recommend at all.

Got a price on. Tucson Hydrid, dealer is adding a $5000 market adjustment on the vehicle, straight profit. Which is insane. Only reason Im giving 3 stars is because they were honest enough to give me an itemized quote.

They were “Outstanding!!” They receive 5 stars from me.I would like to add that one of the Managers (Steve). Only gets a 1 star from me. I didn’t appreciate the service I received from him. There’s a certain way to show Customerservice and he needs to learn a few things from Moses and Santez.
Recently purchased a vehicle from Hyundai of Escondido. I dont particularly look forward to a visit to any dealership. We all know the general conception of car salesmen as untrustworthy and greedy. I have to say; however, that my experience was pleasant. Michael was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient, taking his time to answer my questions. There was no sense of rush, and I did not feel pressured to make a purchase at all. While my bank is the one that caused unnecessary delays, Michael kept me informed, often checked in, and stayed on top of the entire process until the time that all had finally been settled. If you are planning a visit to Hyundai of Escondido, I recommend you ask for Michael!
