Completed replacement of both upper and lower HVAC systems. Rick had to clean up and rebuild prior poor installation from 12 plus years ago. Both units function perfectly now and it was completed while my wife and I were home working. We also have two Great Danes so thats not an easy task. I would highly recommend CAS as they will tell you what is needed and charge a fair price for a top notch work. Very happy with our HVAC system now and I wish we had done it years ago, but Rick was able to keep them going till we could afford to replace.

Was able to get same-day service when our furnace went out during the winter. They were nice enough to work around my schedule since I had a doctors appointment. Rick and his 2 man crew just finished installing my new air conditioner a few hours ago and at Ricks suggestion I added an additional return vent into my HVAC system. Rick also found I had an undersized coil installed inside and went out of his way to make sure the proper sized coil given my duct sizing. Those two things alone improved the efficiency of my system. Rick and his wife, Michelle, are the kind of folks you want on the other end of the phone when its time to spend some money on your home. I requested a replacement for my old 4 ton unit and being young and naive I requested the most efficient (also most expensive) unit currently on the market. Rick and Michelle recommended I make sure the more efficient / expensive unit made sense for my home given the extra cost. After checking into it I found Id save about $1-2 / month during peak months and would never make back that money in savings. They saved me a huge sum because they knew it was the right thing to do.These are the folks you want in your corner when it comes time to shell out some bucks on heating and cooling - a professional crew, management who is looking out for the customer and most important pricing that was lower then the competition (and a better warranty!)UPDATE: I wanted to post a follow-up here. My new AC unit was installed in early April and my electric bills have decreased by almost 35%! In the hottest months (July and August) the its closer to 50%. At that rate the system will certainly pay for itself well within its expected lifespan. Really the best part was not having to worry about the AC and our electric bill when it was 100F outside. Best update Ive made to my home by far and well worth the cost. I cant think Rick and his wife enough for guiding us through. I just saw my BGE bill for August and thought WOW I should go update my review because I saved a big chuck of money in the last 5 months.

They worked until the job was complete and Rick came in to check that everything was good to go before and after the job was complete. Very professional and did a great job. My dad lives in a condo that was built in 1990 and still had the original HVAC system. The system started leaking and had been having problems so we contacted Contemporary Air to get an estimate on replacing. They were responsive and their price was reasonable. The system has been running for several months and hasnt skipped a beat. Rick provided the estimate on-site and it was very reasonable. After agreeing to the work, within a couple weeks, Rick installed a brand new air handler and heat pump within one day.Once Rick arrived, he made sure to keep the work area covered up. His work is careful and efficient. I couldnt have asked for a better experience with this type of work. Contemporary air systems replaced my 49 year-old heating and air conditioning system. The work was efficient Timely and very very satisfying. Their technicians are courteous and very considerate of your home. The only complaint I had was Ithe replacement was unreadable for me. The installation was on Friday and a replacement thermostat was delivered promptly on Monday morning. I am thoroughly happy with every aspect of their work and highly recommend them.

I initially called horizon But they wanted to replace my whole air conditioning and heating and they wanted over 13 k My son-in-law gave me Contemporaries number so I called and the lady was very very nice on the phone and had her husband come out the very next day. He found a scorched wire on my system, that was the problem. Yes my system is 16 years old but its giveing me cool air and working like a charm. I know I need a new one soon but for just about half of what horizon wanted I will go with contemporary when its a little cooler out so they dont die in my craw space. Lol. From the first time I called Contemporary Air until the final install was complete the service was outstanding. Michelle handled all the scheduling and was even able to move our appointment once our current HVAC system started really acting up. We called on a Wednesday afternoon when it got really hot and the owner was at our house by 7:45 am Thursday morning (they were completely booked up but the receptionist told us she would have someone come out if there were any cancellations). He had our system repaired and working within 15 minutes. It was thankfully an easy fix, but he explained exactly what was needed and what he did, was prompt and courteous, and the price was very reasonable. I can fix most problems with home appliances but this quick fix required tools that I did not readily have. Cost was reasonable and they did not try to up sell. Our heat turned off on a Tuesday night around 9pm. Contemporary Air was at our door the NEXT morning, less than 12 hours later. They were professional, efficient, and explained the issue to me clearly. It was actually an electrical problem - but instead of telling me call an electrician, they took the time to determine which circuit had shorted, disconnect it, and proceeded to test all the plugs in our home so that I would not go without any of them not functioning. I was so impressed with their customer service. Would HIGHLY recommend and will be using them for all HVAC needs in the future.

I called them and they were able to come out quickly to my home in Catonsville, diagnose the problem and fix the furnace immediately. I had a problem with my A/C unit and called contemporary air systems due to their high ratings online. They setup an appointment, came on time, and fixed my system by finding THE smallest leak of my freon (it worked all summer and must have been slowly leaking. Very thorough and experienced. My furnace was over 45 years old and working, but I felt it was time to get a new furnace. I contacted numerous contractors (8), and was surprised how few contacted me in response. Contemporary Air Systems contacted me within 2 hours of my e-mail and arranged for someone to come the same day to give an estimate, which was a good price compared to any research which I had done. I had 3 other HVAC companies out before calling Contemporary Air Solutions and they had all told me different things and didnt fix the issue with our furnace fan Thankfully I found Contemporary Air Solutions! They responded and came out to my office within hours and had the problem fixed the same day. I would highly recommend them!

We first called them when the AC unit in our house began leaking through the walls(bad pump), they even pushed forward our appointment since it was so hot and we had no working air. Since then theyve come out for maintenance work and most recently replaced our entire unit.Each time theyve come out theyve been extremely knowledgable and up front about labor/costs. They handled replacing our unit all within a day, and even assisted with our rebate from the city.Ive been extremely satisfied with the work theyve done and highly recommend them to anyone looking for service.

In August I had a Bryant 16 Seer air conditioner and gas furnace installed. I waited to post until we could cycle through both cooling and heating and now, 3 months later I can assure you that everything works beautifully. The care and detail provided by the office employee, Michelle was above and beyond good customer service. I researched this company, along with 3 others to compare prices and reviews. The BBB rating of A+, many outstanding reviews and not a single complaint tipped me over to Contemporary rather than using another top rated company-but that other company had 20 complaints and 7 negative reviews and the sales person I dealt with did not answer my questions to my satisfaction the way that Contemporary addressed every single detail! When you come down to comparing apples to apples-the way many systems are the same, the OTHER factor to examine is the customer care detail and Contemporary Systems gets my highest rating!

Rick and his colleague did an excellent job! Our AC units were a mess and Rick gave us an honest evaluation. He was able to get us back up and running within an hour. We will definitely be contacting CAS in the future with other AC needs. Couldnt be happier with them.

Stop looking! Youve found your Baltimore-area HVAC company! By far the best home service company weve ever had take care of something in our home. I wish they did more than HVAC! Every person weve interacted with at Contemporary Air Systems has been responsive, honest, reliable and customer-oriented. Theyve been maintaining and repairing our homes two crummy (installed by previous owners) HVAC units for four years now, including next-day attention to help! the house is way too hot! mid-July AC breakdowns two summers in a row (two different problems, each efficiently managed by Rick & his team).
