Apparently they have given up on being a good community member because of the inconvenience. I get it, small sales take time and are not as profitable as wholesale and large commercial sales. Eugene fastener has helped me so many times over the years as a rural property owner and to be told to go away because I don’t have a commercial account kinda hurts.

Awhile back I had a project that require lots of wood screws (720). I didnt know the exact size or type. I went to Eugene Fastener and their service was excellent. Not only did their busy staff help me figure the best type of screw (Stainless) but also suggested that I buy in bulk to save money. The picture attached is what I had left over! We have bought alot of stuff here over the years for our company. Walked in today and they refused to serve because we had never opened an account. It’s a shame because they have good selection and quality but I guess we will go somewhere else, it would have been a large order for them.

This place is a joke now that the new owners took it over. There not open to the public now!!!

Previously, I have shopped for years in this place of business ...Now, the saleswoman chased me away with a new policy.the Quote: Wholesale Only...and you must have an account set up weeks in advance. OMG... i could not buy and spend money at this place...nor can anyone else. I am a building contractor of 50 years...and they talked me out of the store.

I loved this place, they have every kind of nut and bolt you can think of. However, they are now strictly commercial accounts only. I own a business but they expect you to buy $2400 worth of stuff per year.

I was an occasional hardware shopper, and eugene fastners was my go-to place. They have saved my projects several times.I recently needed 3.25 inch 1/2 inch bolts, grade 2 for my tractor. The last time I needed them I bought them at Eugene fastners, either 50 orca hundred.This week I found that they do commercial accounts only.I asked the young man for a recommended store that could sell to my, i was instructed to look it up on my phone. Eventually I found fastnals, just 2 blocks down the street, but it was too much of an inconvenience to point me the direction.I am still looking for the bolts in bulk, and its frustrating to know someone has them but wont sell to you.Goodbye eugene fastners, it was nice doing business with you.

Several Companies I work for have accounts at Eugene Fastner. I have been in and out of there many times over the years. It used to be the place to go for certain items. Over the years the service has degraded to the point, I no longer condider going there. My experiance last couple of years has been long waits for service at the counter, while there are employees meandering around doing nothing. The last time I was there, it was 15 minutes before I was acknoledged to the counter by a woman I have never seen before. I said hello and started describing what I was looking for. I needed a bolt of a certain type. Before I could complete my first sentence the woman interupted me and said I cant go by that. I said it doesnt have to be, and again she interupted me, and repeated what she had said the first time. I have been waiting 15 mins. when there are plenty of people that could have helped customers; so Im already a little irritated. I said to the woman. Im really not interested in what you cant do, and if you would stop interupting me and let me finish, ...That was as far as I got. The woman said in a loud voice, for everyone to hear. Sir I need you to leave the store immediately. Im done with this place I said, and she started ranting about police, everyone in the store is looking at me as I am on my way out, like they are preparing to tackle me. I offered a choice little phrase to the woman on my way out. I couldnt believe it. Needless to say, they have lost the business of several compmies with that. Im never going back there again; not even to their going out of business sale. How Rude, where do you get employees like this? I have been seeing more and more of this attitude, and the interuptions steming fom employees thinking they are expert mind readers, and now exactly what you are about to say. I really dont apprecite that at all, interrupting the customer. Eugene Fastner. that place is dead. Home Depot has a special Veterans parking spot and 10% discount waiting for me. Eugene Fastener & Supply Co is no longer serving the general public. Commercial accounts only and they said it is permanent. Nielsen Fastener Co on west 11th is the place to go now. Its actually some other name, but its listed everywhere as Nielsen Fastener Co.

The sign boldly proclaims the new hours. They just don’t tell you what those hours are. I guess if you don’t know the secret handshake they don’t want you to know what those hours are.

Never again. I have wasted enough of my time waiting to get helped. I was the only customer at the counter. I waited 5 minutes. Was seen by 3 employees. Totally ignored. Another customer came in.and saw me standing there. I said: i guess they dont want my business. He replied:thats the norm. I dont know how they stay in business. Well they lost mine.

I came in for a small purchase, a few bolts for my motorcycle. The gentleman that helped me seemed to have no problem taking care of my small purchase. I realize that a big business dealing with small customers isnt always a great use of time, but I was taken care of well just the same. Sure, there is a $5 minimum. I just picked up a few more bolts than I had come in for, and the price/quality was much better than I could expect from picking up a similar thing at Home Depot or similar. $5 for a handful of grade 12.9 bolts that meet the exact specifications of what I need? Fantastic.

Staff need training in customer service and have little knowledge in general,Young kids, minimum wage... Do not work in this industry.

I work for an organization that will often have large orders needing to be filled quickly - this doesnt give our suppliers much lead time. Eugene Fastener and Supply Co has never given us any reason to be concerned that our products wont go out the door quickly. Thank you for being efficient and easy to work with!

I worked at an autobody shop down the street from Eugene Fasteners, and I would be sent there a few times a week for several different nuts/bolts ect. I havent ever had a problem with anyone there and as long as you pull a number from the ticket wheel you will be served accordingly. For how frequently I went there for 1 year straight 3 times a week without any problem at all makes me feel as if the other bad reviews are just ways of trying to sabotage through false reviews. Very organized business for any nut, screw, or bolt you could possibly need. The service is excellent, the counter people knew just what I needed and where to get it. I will definitely recommend them to others.

Not only does this place have almost every nut, bolt, screw, and fastener you could imagine (and plenty more), theyve really done a great job with their customer service! Great product selection, great prices, great (and knowledgeable) employees - what more could you want?

Same boat as previous reviewer. We have been using them less and less anyway since about a year or so ago they came into our office and let us know that there is no reason we arent spending more money with them. Not trying to drum up business but almost demanding we spend more. I think their days are numbered which is to bad.

Convenience, Quick, Easy. If youre looking for a special bolt, nut, screw, whatever, they have it. Even if you dont know exactly what youre looking for, they have it, and theyll help you find it. I wanted to mount my new TV on a brick fireplace and wasnt sure what I needed. They helped me find the right bolts, and my new TV looks great. Thanks EF.

This company strives to excell at customer service. For instance, they could easily save money contracting their deliveries through a service but they chose to hire their own staff to take care of their clientele so that they can go the extra mile.

When I go to Eugene Fastener, I have a pretty good idea what Im looking for, at least I know the correct terminology. I managed a local auto parts store where we sold a wide array of fasteners for sixteen years. At one time the store I ran actually purchased our fasteners from Eugene Fastener.Since I live in east Springfield, I always call to make sure they have what I need before going. I also check R&S Industrial Supply and Nielsen Fastener just to cover my bases. Like most people who are from around the area, Ive been shopping here for a long time. For me its been since the mid-seventies. These guys have never had really good customer service, however they are working towards having the worst possible customer service.I remember years ago, dreading going on Saturday morning to get the half dozen things you needed to finish whatever project you were doing and waiting in line for what seemed like hours. They were only open from eight until noon on Saturdays and if you didnt get there before eleven, you probably werent going to get service before they closed. They had a “number system” (still do) and they would actually stop serving people at noon no matter how long you had waited in line. I have no idea how they do it anymore on Saturday because Ive made sure for at least a decade to NEVER GO IN ON SATURDAY.Today (Monday) I arrived about 11:45 am, (actually “we arrived” as my girlfriend was with me, but I was the one shopping so Ill just say me). Upon arrival, there were two employees bolting shelving together behind a “new” counter area off to the left, another employee was stocking the new shelving, one employee was in the lower office behind the sliding glass door on the phone (this used to be the commercial office) and there was one employee waiting on a customer at the front counter.There was another customer who was sitting on a stool at the front counter off to the right who was apparently waiting for an employee I hadnt seen yet bring him something from the back. There was also a younger guy down at the far right end of the counter (by will call) who looked like he was waiting for something. He may have been a driver picking up from will call. All of these customers were there long before I arrived and still there when I left. But Ill get to that.After standing in line at their service counter for more than five minutes with not so much as a nod, the customer sitting on the stool actually asked if the employee helping him (the employee I hadnt seen yet) was lost in the back. The employee still at the front counter told the customer the “lost” employee waiting on him was “pulling his order.”One employee directly in front of me at the counter. Two employees still putting shelving together. Another employee putting merchandise on the new shelving. One employee on the phone in the lower office behind the sliding glass door. Nobody made any effort to say anything to me. The employee who had “gotten lost in the back” finally came out with about ten bolts and nuts for the guy who was sitting on the stool.Besides the six employees in front, I can see two or more employees in the back moving around behind the counter, so there was at least eight employees on premises. After another five to ten minutes watching employees in the back, the two employees putting shelving together, the employee stocking the shelves, the employee talking on the phone and the two employees waiting on the two customers ahead of me for fifteen minutes, I left.I expected someone to say something to me at that point, at least the three employees fifteen feet from me putting shelving together and stocking shelves, but nothing. Apparently when you are the only full line fastener supply store in the area, you feel like you dont need good customer service to survive.I hope that someone from Eugene Fastener reads this and responds, because this is by no means a new problem, but a problem that after like forty years, should be able to be addressed and corrected.

Their product selection is okay, but Eugene Fastener has terrible customer service. The store is dirty and disorganized, and when you ask for help (because no employee will take initiative to help you), you are met by someone who obviously does not enjoy working there. I will not be buying from Eugene Fastener anymore.
