This is a wonderful co-op its extremely large and for $25 you can become a member its a one-time payment for life and you get a lot of the good deals that they offer.The bakery department has really yummy desserts and cookies the croissants are to die for, and they make fantastic sandwiches just to let you know they also have a wide variety of drinks and beverages alcoholic and just sodas or water.Located on 4th Street theyve got wonderful variety of fresh fruits and vegetables garden greens and plant varieties and a holistic area of medicines thats my favorite sectionAlso the staff is quite remarkable

So Im traveling in my RV .. Im a hippie and Im healthy...I was livid when my son went in to shop and the security guard outside was staring at me as I waited in the drivers seat...Then he seemed to lose interest and Walk away... suddenly my dogs go crazy(not normal) and I see hes right behind me (snuck around from behind apparently)...he then quickly walked inside...came back out to stare some more....I will never spend my money at this store again!!The irony of the huge sign saying everyone welcome on the front of their store!!

Well me an my family shop all the time at the co-op by us an we are looking to move up north as soon as we can my husband is working on a big project with his company on the trees that burnt up in a fire he went in for some dinner he was well dressed an was holding a few things looking at beer labels for me he had no way to grab anything but a lady came up saying he stole a beer he had no way of holding anything els ( my husband is Hispanic) there was 2 other men before him that were white but they were not well groomed nor kept an they were around the beers as well if you can’t keep your opinions to your self you should not work with the public we will not be shopping here at this location I will not support a place that lets this happen

Great selection of homegrown products with a great communication staff.

I was aTravel RN in Eureka twice for several months each contract years ago. From Washington to Florida, New York to San Diego, this remains the best Co-op I have ever seen. If they dont have it they will locate it for you.Very well stocked, huge variety, spotlessly clean. Yall are so fortunate.

Great selection on great ingredients.The deli people could be more helpful. I asked for a couple pounds of popcorn tofu, (which I highly recommend) in a cardboard biodegradable container, but they were too lazy to want to help me. Instead they told me to grab 8 plastic containers if I wanted that much. They could of very easily grab some in the back Instead of lying to me, and tell me there isnt any more, then when my friend ordered a wrap with some a few minutes later and there was plenty back there to make her wrap. Im trying very hard to not consume too much plastic and feel bad about having to use it if I wanted anything there.I am happy that they finally allow us to bring in our own containers for bulk items after the covid issue. I get that they are trying to keep people healthy, but whats the point if we dont have a healthy planet

There are millions of great things to say about the North Coast Co-Op, but let me tell you as a chef, I love the quality produce, meats, dry goods, but especially the bulk herb section! If you can you can get canning spices here and organic at that for a great deal.

Employees are always helpful and sweet. Great produce, great gran and go food. A fantastic selection of chocolate and cold beverages.

If you have a backpack on youll have to leave it on the table in the foyer, but an employee will watch it for you. Coffee was a bit weak for my liking but thats a personal preference. Good to support locally sourced products and business.

Healthy food, affordable pricing, and their bulk ben items offer Spirolina, kelp powder, nutritional yeast, as well as a myriad of other hard to find herbs. Staff is friendly and well centered on customer service. Without the self serving (New Age) attitude youll find at other super stores of its kind. 5 stars? It deserves 10.

Best grocery store (and deli) in Eureka!

Whole foods on small and LOCAL produce, sold direct by growers...AWESOME!! Made fresh food great for those on the road. Tonight? Turkey meatloaf, garlic potato, and veggies: squash carrots red onion, mushrooms, broccoli and garlic. Entire meal is tasty, a beautifully perfect portion, required no seasoning beyond whats in it. Makes me wonder why have a fridge? Buy dinner here, nuke, enjoy!

Incredibly disrespectful, humiliating and unaccommodating staff. I have a serious medical condition that impacts my ability to wear a mask. I was maintaining my social distancing space and minding my own business in the store with my 10 month old infant. I was chased down and repeatedly be-rated for not wearing a mask, and I politely explained my condition. I told them I’d “conditionally accept” the terms of mask wearing if they’re willing to assume full liability for my health while in their store, which they of course refused. Their “reasonable” accommodation was to use the store during specific hours (that did not work for my schedule), or wear a “face sheild” which they do not provide but I must track down myself to buy groceries. Which is complete absurd looking and humiliating. Cool, humiliate to accommodate—And their reasons were “to protect their staff”... what about protecting your customers health when they have a known medical condition that wearing a mask in contraindicated?! This is absolutely insanity, discrimination, and down right coercion to comply with frankly unconstitutional —violating my human rights to by my own damn groceries without being ridiculed, disrespected, and humiliated in the process. I’m sorry but that is NOT reasonable accommodation and I hope you’re ready for a lawsuit.

Great place to get fresh veg, and beautiful selection for vegans and non vegans for cheeses, meats and deli food.

They have a security guard when you get into the shop who ask you to leave your bags on a table between the entrance of the shop and the outside, which is understandable.Only problem there are no lock for your bags, so is basically unattended...

One of my favorite coops in all the north west

10:30 am this Tuesday morning the store was busy but not at all crowded. No line to get in, but a monitor at the door for limits if needed. Marjoram is back in stock in bulk herbs.

We always enjoy our visit to North Coast Co-op. Great selection of fresh produce and quality, green and organic products throughout. Good selection of beer and wine as well. Its a one stop shop.

Stopped in for some travel food and was impressed. Very nice selection of ready to eat items. Hot bar and salad bar. Cool beers and ciders, cold beverages. Clean store. Lots of nice grocery items. Found my favorite mushroom hunting pocket guide at the check out counter! Service was pleasant and helpful.

Great staff, unusual items, a bit pricey.

Great place for bulk foods, dairy, produce, meats, deli. Plus good friendly service. Masks required during Covid-19. Social distancing enforced, and limited number of people allowed in. Special hour for at risk persons first thing in the morning.

Is very convenient actually to walk right over from the mission where the staff is very professional, pretty much all your natural name organic products, is overall a good store!!!

It smells nice in here

My complaint is specific to Randy the Senior Clerk at the Eureka branch. My mask was on, albeit not tightly, as to allow myself some space between the mask and my face so that I could breath. Randy went above and beyond his health-enforcement duties, and during checkout, He aggressively walked over and rudely told me to raise my mask. I did not say a word, and I pulled the mask tightly against my face, just as he ordered me to do. My wife then asked him why he had to be rude and authoritative when he ordered me to adjust my mask. This is the point when he abused his authority as senior clerk by ordering the cashier to stop checking us out, and ordered my family to leave the store. He had no right to throw us out and force us to leave, but he did so just because his pride was wounded, and he wanted to flex his power as senior clerk by ordering us out of the store. As a co-op member and frequent shopper, I am appalled at this behavior by a low-level management employee, and strongly urge upper management to seek a different type of person to operate managerial duties of their stores.

The Co-Op is the best place to shop! They have the best quality of meat, an amazing hot food bar that at lunch always has chicken, pork and beef for the meats. They offer rice or quinoa and they usually have a vegetarian option as well as roasted veggies and other sides. They sell amazing makeup that’s good for your skin and great skin care products. An amazing bulk department they often have sales on their organic bulk foods. This place really is a one stop shop!

This is the best grocery store in town. Great prices and great selection and great staff! ALL ORGANIC produce, too! Woo!

The Co-Op sells organic produce, bins of organic nuts, grains, dried fruits, great cheeses and meats, fresh baked breads, pies and cookies, and organic, pasture-raised meats. You can even make your own almond butter! The Co-op is a bit more expensive, but customers rely on their clean, local produce and healthy selection of foods. I rely on the monthly 5 percent off, and Senior Day every Tuesday for additional discounts.

Extremely condescending,If you are going to close off the bulk station, Atleast staff it, instead of having your customers search the store for an employee, then find one & inquire about bulk items, only to get a very condescending response “yeah, I’ll call, someone will be there shortly, if you’d like to head back over to bulk” but it was the way he said it.Not a very friendly establishment.This is my second bad experience at a North Coast Co-op store. I figured I’d give this location a chance & it was worse!

North coast co-op is the very best grocery store I’ve shopped at. When family and friends from socal come and visit, they remark on the variety of products and produce available. I’ve never had anything but polite interactions with all employees. I’m very happy I can buy nearly all the organic, fairly traded products I need, locally.

I love the Eureka Co-op. I buy mostly vegetables and specialty food there and appreciate their wide selection of organic produce, some from local farmers. They also have a huge selection of supplements and herbal remedies. The store is always clean, and the staff is super friendly. Im very grateful for their electric shopping cart which I often have to use due to a disability.

Love the co-op. Their selection of health care products is amazing, I can always find what I need there and the staff is always super helpful. When I went today the woman in the health section helped me find several products with a friendly attitude and the cashier I had was also friendly and didnt make me feel like a burden with my multiple WIC checks I needed to use today. Their deli make amazing sandwiches and their sushi counter is definitely one of the best Ive ever had.

Good food high price

This place is great for all things fresh! Theyve always got a good selection of fairly priced fruits and veggies (mostly organic). Their bulk selection is wide, if a tiny bit pricey. Customer service is always refreshingly real and polite. But what keeps me coming back is the meat counter. Theyve got real butchers that can help you with sectioning whole chickens, and special cuts of meats - and they always taste fresh!Highly recommend this co-op, and their butcher counter!!

We love the soup, salad, and hot bar. Those combined with the sandwich counter help tons when your on the go and need a healthy option that is not fast food. My family stops here and at the one in Arcata often for meals not just shopping. One of the members of our family is wheat free and two others are dairy free, they always have food to meet all our needs.

Great selection of products, helpful employees, and its easy to find what Im looking for. I get all of my tea and bath products here. Also a decent beer selection and a nice deli. Atomic bran muffins are my dads favorite from the bakery.

Organic produce, locally produced cheeses and meats are what the North Coast Co-op is all about. But my favorite is the olive bar with over 8 different varieties.

I used to live in Humboldt County and this was always my go-to for groceries. Every 3-4 months, I will drive 4 hours to visit and to come to this grocery store. Produce is amazing, and they always have produce that is on sale, and not because it is spoiling. They also have a salad bar, bulk items, other prepared food, home goods, a nice selection of quality vitamins and supplements, toiletries, etc. It feels like home whenever I am here!

Great place!! Frequent shopper.. Great selections for vegan vegetarian and gluten free. Deli is amazing and the smoothies are a must have!! Berry bliss is my favorite!! Salad bar is usually ok and soups are pretty good!! Very friendly staff, love it here!!

The hot lunch & soup options can be hit or miss depending on the day. Can very between really good and kind of awful. Nice location. Parking can be a challenge during lunch hour. Nice salad bar, but could use a better selection of salad dressings. Usually only offer ranch and balsamic vinegar *sigh*.

Good deli. Good selection of food. Good local, and organic selection. Pricey, but keep an eye out for co-op specials tags which manage to be affordable and good.If you are passing through on 101 this is a good pit stop for lunch and what not.

A refill of coffee( my own 16 oz cup) is $2.30

I really like this store however there was rat droppings in my muesli from their bins. Now I dont think I can purchase anything from the bins anymore. Super bummed.

Love the Co-op. I moved back to the SF Bay, and Im STILL a member. I only visit every other month or so, but I love this place. Its way better than the Arcata one -- its bigger so there is a better selection, the staff is always polite and nice, no attitude from college age judgmental hipsters, and its conveniently next to downtown.

Great selection of organic foods, eco-friendly products, and local options. Their deli is great for quick, handmade options as well as many different options of local coffees ready for pour-and-go. Check the Mermaid Sushi counter for tasty hand-rolled sushi.

In the two years that I have lived here, this was my first time going in. After my experience this morning, it will be my last. I really just came in to get a pastry. They had so few options (mainly cookies) none of them where anything I wanted. I asked the deli if they could toast a bagel for me and instead of just leaving it at sorry no, the guy goes on and on about how if they put it in their panini press itll push the bagel and then the female with a wrap around her head and glasses chimes in to tell me Los Bagels is just around the corner. First off Im there, Im not going to drive all the way over here, park, get out of the car, come in and not get something. I order a smoothie and I know she purposely did not put the lid all the way on so when I put it between my arms to pop the straw in it went all over my arm. I looked at her and said you didnt put the damn lid on and she didnt even say anything and just walked away. Yup, will never be back.

As I pointed out to the young man with the space cadet look the molded blueberries he picked out the molded ones and then put the box back on the shelf. So for produce as fresh as a dumpster this would be my first choice...

I was bummed out when I saw the mark ups on some of the prepackaged items. For me its just an expensive version of Safeway.
