This is a nice in town nerd shop. They were mostly comics and pewter war hammer supplies, but they now have a big wall of almost 100 board games including a giant Catan, some legacy games and a lot of other games we play at game nights. They still have comics, but now they also have the plastic war hammer as well as DnD miniatures and books. And as always, they have Magic the Gathering Cards.

Absolutely the most awesome place 😎 the owner and his son are phenomenal people. They truly both love games, card games, board games. They will talk to you about it and you will see what passion looks like. We appreciate coming in and meeting some of the coolest folks we have had the pleasure. If you or your kiddos are into trading cards, books, board games...this place...will open up passage ways to your heart and stick with you forever.

Was just visiting Eureka and went to this awesome store! Had a pleasant experience going there and getting help as complete newbies of D&D! They also offer a wide variety of boardgames and card games (Pokemon, Magic, Digimon), as well as comics and even a couple chapters of manga! Highly recommend checking it out if youre interested in any of the above.

I started with NCRP back in the early 90s. Before Amazon and internet ordering, and they set my definition of a friendly neighborhood gaming store. While I have stayed deep in the mainstream games, they always had a wealth of other games. I wish I still lived in the area so I could continue my experiences there!

Good selection of wargaming and RPG content, but I found the stereotypical game store problem: I was almost completely ignored the whole time I was there. The staff was having a conversation with another customer about 40k when I entered, and never greeted me or asked if I needed help. Even when we were checking out, my wife and I werent engaged or welcomed into the store at all.Probably a great place if youre part of the in crowd, but not recommended as an out-of-towner.

Lots of games and comics. This is one of the few local gaming stores left in our area, and has been a reliable place for gamers to shop for years. I do wish they would keep their business hours updated on Google, Facebook, and their window sign though. They always seem to be closed when I try to shop there recently, and I would rather shop local than save a couple bucks on Amazon.

I came here recently to satisfy my quarantine needs (board games and roleplaying games). I was met with one of the most friendly and knowledgeable people behind the counter. I asked a zillion questions and everything was answered to the best of his ability. The store had a massive selection and a far wider variety of games than any other store in the area.I ended up leaving with the Cities and Knights Expansion to Settlers of Catan and countless future games that I plan to buy soon. Fast forward to the evening and I open the shrink wrapped from the manufacturer game.I was missing a sticker pack. A really simple error by the manufacturer and not the end of the world. Regardless after spending a good chunk of money on a game I want the whole package. I contacted North Coast Roleplaying about how to resolve the issue and have been given the best service. I have had to jump through a few hoops and make several calls to the store. Each time though I have been assisted and helped far beyond my expectations. I know that if I am back in the area and in need of games this is the first place I will go, I would likely choose this just for their selection alone but the service and assistance truly seals the deal. I have been blown away by it and would highly reccomend anyone to swing by the store!

The owner is a great well of knowledge on a large number of subjects. I sometimes ask about vague older stuff (Knightmare Chess, as an example.) And, not only did he know more about it than I did, he had it buried under some other games on a wall and knew it was there. Great recommendations for comic books and a great knowledge of Trading Card games. (Also the best price Ive seen on unopened boxes of packs of cards which he also charges on a mix n match basis.)Although the store is dimly lit and housecleaning is not perfect, neither of these diminishes the experience.

Had a chance to stop by while staying in Eureka. For a town its size, Eureka is lucky to have two great game stores. We had an emergency need to play D&D, and North Coast had the DM screen we needed. This is the only comic store left in town. I go here every week. Barry (the owner) has a high energy level but is courteous and extremely helpful. I have never seen him verbally abuse anyone, no matter how rude they might be. I see him bend over backwards almost every week to please his pickier customers and wait patiently on clueless newbies. Ive never seen any prices raised overnight. On the contrary, he has an ongoing sale of graphic novels which he sells for 3$ a pop which is one of the best bargains Ive ever seen. It is not easy to run a comic or gaming shop and I think he does a great job. Im grateful every week for his shop. If you buy your comics online you are not supporting your local community.

DO NOT BRING YOUR COMICS, GAMES OR CARDS HERE FOR TRADE! As a test, I brought in some comics today and was offered between 2% and 15% of their actual value. Moreover, he was dishonest about the true value of my items. The employees here are knowledgable and while they can come across as gruff, their hearts are in the right place. The only downside is that compared to other game stores Ive been to, NCRPs pricing is steep for a lot.A case of miniatures down south cost me 94 bucks. Here its 120 easy. I could order them from Oakland, ship them here, and still save 10 bucks even if I express shipped it.

NCRP has a good variety of comics, Role Play books, and games. Barry is the owner if I recall right, and is a nice guy even if you dont really know him that well. On Free Comic Book Day the owner said they would be participating but in reality just put out a bunch of old Halloween freebies and Preview issues that are available 365 days a year. Funny he thought he would get away with this without anyone knowing. A regular asked where all the good stuff was, and he told him to come back later when all the transients have left, referring to us little people that dont go in there on a weekly basis (I buy most of my comics digitally). I bought an issue out of gratitude for what I know is a very hectic day of handing out free comic books, but now that I know this guy is a scammer I would like to do something other than what I originally intended with said comic book.Hes rude to his customers and clearly has lost any passion he once had for his business. Dont go here, go buy your stuff digitally instead.

The shop itself is depressing to say the least. The lighting is dim, the carpeting is a faded shade of blue. most of the customers were males in their 30-40. including myself there were two teenagers. the biggest thing that was happening was a man talking to the clerk/manager about a D&D dining room piece. when i imagined it the comic book store was filled with colorful lights music and upbeat energy. Okay selection, for a small-town shop. The owner, unfortunately, ruins it; hes the only game (as it were) in town, knows it, and feels entitled to create a hostile environment as a result. Updated,So I am gonna take a minute and say just how overly satisfied I am with my order.I called them Sunday around noon and expressed how NOBODY in my immediate area (Redding, Ca) had the product (Shadowrun 6th edition beginner box) that I had been looking for in stock.Barry at North Coast Roleplaying (4 hours away)told me that they had it in stock and would ship it immediately the very next day if I would like.I was a little hesitant dealing with a mom and pops establishment but decided to do it.I called him back 15mins later and gave them my Credit info and Shipping info, 3 days later it is sitting at my front door giving me exactly what I wanted at cheaper than Amazon Shipping AND FASTER SHIPPING.Even though I pay AMAZON over a hundred bucks a year for two day shipping (WHICH NO LONGER IS 2 DAY SHIPPING) I would have received this item after our get together date of this weekend which by AMAZON calculations would have been next Friday (Not two day shipping)All in ALL to sum this up, this transaction has been above and BEYOND my expectations and renewed my trust in Mom and Pops businesses,If I ordered roleplaying stuff I more often (And I was RICH) I would go ahead and hand 100 bucks(the money I give Amazon for 2 day shipping) to Barry and his staff for his excellent communication and a overal great transaction. Please if you are needing anything to do with roleplaying I URGE you to try these guys, they are FANTASTIC!I will continue to call them any chance I have in the future as should you if you need any role playing items or board games or for comics for that matter!
