Usually the cleanest of all the grocery stores I visit. Plenty of people call it pricey, but for QUALITY, I dont get my meat or produce anywhere else. Love them!

Although it may cost a little more Safeway is well worth it. They have a lot of great sales especially for families such as buy one get one free on crackers buy 2 or 3 get 2 free on 12 packs of soda and many other products. They have one of the largest selections of cheeses in eureka and a very wide variety of keto friendly products as well as organic products in almost every isle. Definitely worth going there. They also have great hours they dont close until 1 am every night so are open for last minute shopping.

Beautiful store atrocious parking lot I would say probably one of the worst thought out parking lots Ive ever seen in my entire life its very tight a lot of compact spots and if you knew anything about the area a lot of folks here drive larger vehicles big full size trucks or SUVs are the norm and Humboldt County if you dont drive a Prius or a Subaru this parking lot is made for Priuses not for f350s had this parking lot been like any other parking lot it would probably be a five star store but literally I avoid this store because that stupid parking lot its almost as bad as trying to leave dodger stadium after a game when theyre parking lot turns into a free-for-all any which way you can get your vehicle into the exit route LOL okay maybe not that bad but still I dont know why they felt the need to plant all these silly plans and make all these unmaintained landscape areas what happened to the days of just making a flat pavement patch and painting lines on it keep it simple stupid when we start getting fancy and creative is usually when things get messed up this parking lot was a mess up...

Good produce and butchery. The price is a little high but its worth it to get fruit thats not bruised & to get to talk to a butcher who knows his craft.

Clean store the workers follow the rules for non contamination very well I feel very comfortable buying and serving food to my family from there

Nice quality, new Safeway. Good quality and selection, and a Starbucks inside. Good customer service. Parking is a bit challenging though.

This Safeway is like all other Safeway stores. Clean store, lots of items to choose from friendly staff and multiple departments.Produce dept is really good.Floral is decent good.Meat dept is excellent. The butchers are well informed, super friendly and helpful.Bakery is great.Deli dept is questionable. The cold deli section is good but they seem to be understaffed for the past few years. Resulting in often long waits and mediocre customer service. The hot deli section, well, they seem to lack pride in their work and should be ashamed of the foods they are presenting for sale. I often question if their heat holding practices are safe for consumption. The rotisserie chickens are an atrocity in appearance and probably should be checked out by the health dept.

I stopped at this Safeway because I know they make custom sandwiches. The service was very fast and the lady called me hon.

We stopped here 3 times during our visit to Eureka. Always a great clean place to shop.

Their frozen section dosnt get stoc kn ed enough. They are alway out if amys chili relleno just to name one. I have to make a trip to winco. Ill just shop at winco.

Food safety alert! Saturday May 1st 2021, 10:45 a.m. I discovered frozen food coolers at 45° f. When I opened the freezer to grab some frozen meals I noticed it didnt seem cool in the freezer. Two temperature indicators in the frozen food freezers were way above food safety requirements. There was also water dripping from the top of the freezer inside. The CDC guidelines are refrigerators should be at 40° or below and freezers should be at 0° or below. A freezer at 45°, at this size of a retailer, presents a high risk of a community wide food poisoning disaster! I am disgusted by the fact that there was no alarms flashing and sounding at the coolers of this above acceptable temperature. No employees responding to the problem, such as by restricting peoples access to these freezers, and clearly there is no store and no corporate level infrastructure to safeguard the public against this sort of gross mismanagement of food safety procedures! I plan to reach out to our local government health department as to what safeguards need to be installed to prevent this from happening in the future and what consequences can be enacted on this retailer for their flagrant disregard for food safety, and so should you. If you dont want to die from food poisoning, dont shop at this retailer!I did notify a cashier who notified another individual of this emergency. They gave me no indication that there was a known problem. The fact that the problem wasnt known is what I find most disturbing. I hope they have responded appropriately.This is a great example of why there should be a zero star rating available.Update: I sent an email to the county about this incident and they contacted the store management. The store management claimed that there is a temperature alarm system and it was not triggered. When I press the issue the store would not respond with additional information to support their claim. Also known as, theyre covering up their failure.

I was impressed with the bakery department, they were able to take a cake order late on Friday and have it ready by the next day. I liked the balloon arrangement from the floral department, my moms birthday and parents anniversary is this wknd. So we were able to get all we needed there, which made it convenient.

This place is great. They can make a custom cake with a picture of Adam Sandler on it.

I usually shop the Mckinleyville location but was nearby so I went there. This store is much newer and larger. Great layout.

The parking lot is a potential hazard at all times. It is so poorly designed, and worries me so much that I have been there a total of six times since they opened several years back, and I live five minutes from the store. I drive to stores that are 15 minutes away. Several people have told me that they do not go there for the same reason.As for products, they have almost an entire aisle of ice cream, yet there is not a SINGLE organic brand. I had heard years back that Safeway was determined to be the next Whole Foods, and concentrate on organics. They have drastically improved what they carry, and there is some organic produce, so that is very positive.

Most of the employees are helpful, but some employees here are just rude and nasty towards customers. And dont go to the Customer Service counter if you can avoid it at this Safeway.

Took my mom shopping and we had a good experience. Check out was great. A helper, Becky was very attentive to my mom. I could tell just that interaction made my mom better. Ive loved Safeway for years, I lived a lot of years in SF and basically the #1 supermarket in the city. Now Im up north in Eureka, great pharmacy staff!! High quality meats and produce too. Theyre dairy brand, Lucerne is a fave!

Busy but not overcrowded at 8:45 am. Folks are heading to the store earlier and earlier. Short lines. Appropriate distancing and masks.

Its a Safeway. The people were nice, the place is clean and well organized. The selection of things to purchase is excellent. Unlike most stores in Eureka they have good bicycle parking.

Decent spot to shop. The quality of the staff varies wildly. The more experienced folks will give you A+ service, but the newer staff is hit-or-miss. Well-stocked, clean, and has excellent perishable foods.

The store is always clean. There is lots of room in isles and around produce, bakery, etc. The staff are kind. We got a cake from the bakery about a year and a half ago that wasnt quite right and they fixed it for us even though it already said the family members name on it. I love the olive bar. Yum! There is a Starbucks inside this location for those who enjoy that convenience.

This is the nicest Safeway in Humboldt County. It has a wide selection and variety, the prices are fair, and the store is always clean and well-maintained. It also appeals to those who are either vegetarian or are on a keto diet.

Very nice store. We love it so much more than the other grocery store in Eureka. They are keeping everyone safe and making sure to keep everything clean.

Employees are friendly and helpful. The register sometimes overcharges, not picking up the sale price. I always take my receipt back the next time and am refunded the difference without any hassle.

Great spot to shop. They have a Starbucks inside that has amazing baristas. The store is always well stocked. Friendly people at checkouts. Helpful in all spots of the store. Has sanitizer wipes near the baskets. I live closer to another store but dont mind going a little farther to go here.

Very clean dim lighting overpriced by ... Alot. But open when you need it to be and while you will spend $10 for a pumpkin pie you could have got for $5 you really have no one to blame but yourself. Lol...

This location is far superior to the Arcata store. This is the closest thing we have locally to a Publix or other similar store elsewhere in the country. Lots of options in the ready to eat category, fresh produce, and staples are priced attractively. My wife loved her sandwich and potato salad, and cant wait to have her fresh donuts for breakfast tomorrow.

As far as grocery store sushi goes.... its Dericious!
