One of the worst move experiences I have had in years. There arent a lot of options when you live in Humboldt County, and the movers they hire are really unprofessional. The first batch that picked up our stuff were a bunch of kids who had no idea how to package TVs or Monitors properly. Some of our stuff arrived damaged, and many of our fragile boxes were smashed up pretty bad. The office staff is nice, but the movers were a nightmare. I would not recommend using this company to anyone I know. I hope they do better to improve their employee performance. Especially since we paid nearly 8k for professional movers. Im extremely disappointed.
Great attitude of the best kind. Manny, Junior and Jose were a great team and an absolute pleasure to deal with
So happy I was able to arrange movers to bring my new refrigerator into the house on short notice. The delivery driver could only bring it to the curb.
Very nice Garret S. Gave me an estimate. He had 3 great guys load up my stuff. Josh. Lane and one other gentleman. They were very careful with my things. Treats things with respect. I have them storing and delivering my things to Prescott. I would recommend the. For any move.
Humboldt Moving and Storage seriously has efficiency down to a science! Craig, Adam and Nick were the guys that moved us in and they are rockstars! These guys were respectful, polite, professional and hard-working! They made certain to handle our belongings with the utmost care and were precise in regards to placement. I appreciate that they were up front in reference to which of our items were damaged during the first part of our move (through another company). We would hire this company again in an instant and highly recommend them. Please remember to tip your movers as they are very diligent workers!
So far so good! Meeting them on the other end with our worldly goods! We loved working with the Henry’s and their crew. Thank you from our hearts. You guys have made a stressful ordeal easier.Highly recommend.
Gary, Joel, and Zach did a great job in tough circumstances. Everyone was polite and easy to communicate with all along the way. They helped move my mother and showed a lot of patience and strength after a long day. This is not an easy job--thanks for taking care.
Our movers showed up on time, and were friendly, conscientious, and efficient.
There is nothing fun about moving in a pandemic. Add to that the inherent stresses of moving prep and packing with a pre-schooler in tow for the entire process. To ease these stresses, I opted to hire Humboldt Moving & Storage... a decision well made! I believe I spoke with the owner a couple times in making arrangements for their services. He was incredibly nice, informative, and put my concerns at ease with added humor. :) Blaine and Trent arrived on time and were 100% professional. They observed all Covid-19 safety protocols, worked carefully, and efficiently, and paid special attention to details, taking care not only of my belongings, but also of the homes so no damages were incurred throughout the process. Unloading required taking some of my heaviest furniture up two flights of stairs to the third floor. Blaine and Trent rose to the occasion free of any complaints. This was the first time Ive invested in professional movers... and the process was so smooth, Ill definitely hire Humboldt Movers & Storage again. Thank you for easing the stress of the move and taking care of all the heavy lifting!
This company took my stuff in one truck in Eureka CA and arrived in Austin TX losing half of it! I was so upset on move in day-that my roommate (whose name was NOT on the contract) signed the paperwork. And because he signed it (even though he did not establish the contract) I was not able to get ANY insurance funds from the lost.
Very nice and friendly people.
Nice clean place. Friendly staff. Nice storage units. Reasonable price
Humboldt Moving and Storage did a great job packing up our apartment for our big move.Glenn and Zach were professional, courteous, efficient and very patient as they worked with us throughout the entire day. Excellent team.
They were so kind and got the job done quickly!
Awesome! When I had to move immediately, they were there in two days. So grateful
Humboldt Moving and Storage Co. was a delight to work with from beginning to end. They took time to guide and educate us and answered all our questions. We were confident our belongings were safe when in storage for nine months and when being shipped across country. John, the owner, is available and has a well-trained and professional staff. Storing your treasured belongings, moving locally or across country we are happy to recommend Humboldt Moving and Storage Co. for all your moving needs.
Completely disappointed. Eureka has a lot of military and unfortunately this is the only option for us. As they quoted us 3 days to pack up our home, they did it in 2 and broke a desk before it even made it onto their truck. They didnt even finish loading their truck until well after 9pm. Plus, the attitudes of some of these guys towards other guys was TERRIBLE. They literally threw the leftovers in their truck and dumped it out in their storage. Not everything was properly packed or even in a box. I am MISSING a 2 foot tall, 1,000 foot long spool of craft paper. How on earth do you miss something like that? Also missing other items, most likely because it wasnt packed properly. They also couldnt properly fill out the inventory sheet, most lines were blank or had single letters on it/or you ccouldnt read the handwriting cause they were so rushed to finish. Irresponsible company.
My husband and I needed a company to move our heavy piano just down the street. Easily a 30 minute job. This company quoted us $200 an hour INCLUDING DRIVING TIME from Eureka to McKinleyville! They estimated 2-3 hours total, amounting to either $400-600, for less than an hour of actual labor! Extortion! (We moved the piano with friends and it took all of 45 minutes to move)
Excellent job of bringing the piano down a flight of stairs that turned at the landing. Required a 360 turn of the piano, in tight quarters, on stairs. They rocked it! AND came in at the bottom end of the estimate. Professional work, very courteous.
Getting a quote was easy. They answered all of my questions, even the last minute questions I had the day of the move without making me feel dumb. I was able to make arrangements for the move while I was out of state and then meet the movers to actually move the things from my moms estate. They helped me try to figure out other possible solutions to get her things to my house, but I ended up with the door to door service because of the convenience and they were just so helpful!!!My things were delivered quicker than expected and I absolutely loved the guys that unloaded our things. They were very personable, helpful, and had a wonderful sense of humor. This is the 2nd time I used Humboldt Moving & Storage. 1st time was in 97, when I moved away from home. Im so glad they have such good service, even after all of those years.
They were awesome in all aspects of our move. From packing to loading to delivery. They were extremely flexible and made our move super stress-free. Wonderful folks!!
Great place! awesome rates! best customer service, best prices, safest storage, and most convienent choice out of all the storage options in humboldt! Go ahead and give them a try- I guarantee you wont be disappointed.
Humboldt moving and storage moved my business yesterday. They were courteous, careful and professional from beginning to end. Thank you to everyone at HMS for making this move as easy as moving can be.
Please AVOID!! I had a terrible experience moving my house and car from Eureka, CA to Pittsburgh, PA and CVL, VA. The local office with UNIGROUP/United- Humboldt moving and storage in Eureka, lied about the fact that they will be hiring a broker (Blue Start Corporate Relocation) who would hire some shady company from WA (West Coast Auto Transport) to move my car. Humboldt moving claimed, UNITED does the long haul by themselves until my car was on its way from Eureka. I realized this when about 2 days before the move a broker (Blue start Corporate relocation) called me to set up a time for the car pick up. I was again told by Garrett at Humboldt moving that this truck would only take my car to Sacramento and United will move it from there. The truck driver later called me to say that he needs a range on the pick up date, when earlier the pick up date was fixed for May 23rd by both United and Blue star. Car was not picked up in time but instead had to be stored at a local facility in Eureka for a week! I had to drive a rental car during this time. Car was delivered in time but with major damage to left control arm and was not drivable! The delivery guy (West Coast Auto) failed to acknowledge and asked me to contact United. I got my car evaluated by a reputed body shop, but United would not accept this evaluation and instead that an agency assigned by UNIGROUP-SCA, evaluate the damage. Even before that United Claims team 9, required the papers from West Coast Auto, which Humboldt Moving could not arrange, wasting several days! I eventually found the papers myself. SCA Appraisal underestimated the damages and submitted a claims which was $800 short of the final bill I got from the body shop. From the date of delivery it took about 45 days to get my car running. The claims team at UNIGROUP is now asking me to submit a request for arbitration at AMSA (to claims for the difference) which has its own costs and will take it own sweet time! They also would not pay for the rental car as it was not covered in my moving contract. UNIGROUP also moved by house and delivered half of my stuff to some other location. It took another 10 days from the delivery date for me to finally get my house, after several phone calls trying to locate my house with different information provided by different people at United. UNIGROUP and associates (Humboldt Moving and Storage, Blue Start Corporate Relocation, West Coast Auto Transport) have given a ton of stress and chest pain to me over the last 3 months!! They lied about the move to begin with, were slow with claims process, do not wish to pay the damaged in full. I have spent several hours of my valuable time dealing with this and it is still not over!! This company should be ashamed of themselves for the harassment they are causing me for EXTRA money I payed for the move as compared to any other quote I had received for the same job! I am terribly disappointed in United for the cheapest and dumbest movers for a sum of $2600 for my car and $7000 for a one bedroom!
They can help you move just about anything. The price is pretty high though considering to what they actually pay their workers.
Nice and knowledgeable office staff and the movers are courteous, punctual, and professional.
Absolutely the worst moving place. They have a moving truck that has been blocking the entire road for over an hour Ive called the office and they will not help me at all. Bad customer service and they dont care about the community.
Was able to move a 900lb arcade machine in town, happy to do it and made it a breeze. Thank you guys so much!!!
