Spent 3-4 days communicating, agreed on price, offered to make deposit to assure seller of intent to complete the deal only to be assured by seller that it would not be necessary. fast forward 24 hours later and after taking off work to go to bank I call to arrange pick up and get oh we sold that boat earlier today guess whoever bought the boat must have paid full asking price. I was always taught a mans word was as good as any contract I guess not here, a dollar is worth more than their integrity. they may have a great service department for all I know but the sales staff is lacking in my experience.

Purchased my tracker pro 170 in October 2017. Trey was persistent in earning my business (the next day I was driving to Bass pro to buy the same boat). After I thought it was a no go Trey called me a few hours later and we put a deal together. Picked up my boat the next day and it’s been a great journey. I had a few issues with my trolling motor, but they were taken care of promptly. Still every time I go in there I’m treated as if I’m a new customer. Platinum Marine is my home for my boat needs! I recently baught a used boat. I took it in to have it winterized. I purchased a boat and needed the computer diagnostic read on my evinrude etec (I had a warning light coming on). I called several area marine mechanics only to receive sales pitches over the phone and ridiculous price quotes. Called Trey at Platinum Marine, he got my boat in asap, had the tech adjust the settings on my motor and let me water test it. Didnt charge me a dime. The technician Nick, very knowledgeable and got the problem fixed. Its so hard to find an honest mechanic that wont try to price gouge. I highly recommend Platinum Marine!

I called on May 31st and scheduled an appointment to drop my boat off on June 17th. The tech called me on June 19th and he had already started diagnosing the boat. I guess they could not figure out the issue with the boat and pushed it to the back during the July 4th holiday, which I had no problem with. I called Trey on July 5th to check in on the status and he reassured me that he hadn’t forgotten about me and that he would call me on July 9th to follow up. He also stated, “We just have to get some of the newer boats out of the way first.” In my opinion, this implied that my boat wasn’t a priority, even though I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks prior to dropping it off. July 9th passed and I still hadn’t received a call. I didn’t call again to check the status because I was on vacation and did not want to rush the repair. I finally received a call on July 24th (more than a month after dropping it off) stating that the boat was ready to pick up. I asked what the issue was and they informed me that the ICM was bad and that they already installed a used one that they purchased from a ‘friend’ for $350. Trey informed me that he was trying to help me out and he was only marking the used part up to $395, which was understandable because he informed me that the part was over $700 new. He also said he would wash the boat prior to pick up because it had been sitting so long. I did what anyone would do and checked online and found a new OEM ICM for $450 with the exact part number. He never once offered to sell me a new part directly, only the used part. I told him that I would proceed with the total cost if he could not return the used part, but he informed me that returning the part would not be an issue. The ICM is a solid state electronic that can randomly fail, so I didn’t want to run the risk of installing a used ICM if the cost was nearly that of a new one. Iasked him to give me the price for labor only because I did not want to purchase the used part. His tone immediately changed and he seemed disgruntled. He said he did not want to push me one way or the other, but that he had more time invested in the boat than what he was billing me in labor. I did not ask for a discounted labor price, I asked him for his total cost in labor and paid him wiwithout questioning the labor costs. Something immediately seemed fishy when he seemed annoyed that I didn’t want the used part. I did not understand why he was annoyed when he reassured me over and over that he was not making any profit on the part alone and that returning it would not be a problem. We completed the transaction and I picked the boat up after hours. This is when I really became annoyed. When I initially dropped the boat off, it was clean and had a cover on it. When I picked it up, the boat was filthy and had rain water and mold in it. It looked as if they let it get rained in and then threw the cover back on it and did not secure it. Iguess they decided to not wash it because I didn’t purchase the used part from them. I will not use Platinum Marine’s services again, nor will I refer anyone to them. They will not treat you or your boat with respect. STAY AWAY

My wife and I determined we wanted a Sun Tracker Fishin Barge 22 DLX when we recently moved to South Carolina. Independent Sun Tracker dealers were closer than Bass Pro Shops. Of the independents, Platinum Marine was the most courteous, knowledgeable and responsive of any boat dealer for any brand, that I talked to in our pontoon search and decision making.
