The staff members are incredibly friendly and always take their time to help me find what I need. There are large selections of different medium, and students can get a considerable discount with their free membership. Certain objects are on sale from time to time, and I recently bought Winton professional watercolor and oil with an affordable price.

While Christmas shopping I bought a complete acrylic paint set along with canvases and all related implements in less than 5 minutes. the woman who helped me was super nice, has actually used the equipment in question, and the cashier was hilarious. And quick.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!NEVER SHOP AT THIS BLICK!!!Last Week, I had bought an art table at a different location and wanted to return it at this store since it was closer to me. I walked in carrying the art table in the original box with no assistance, the associates would not even offer help, just stood behind the counter! Just to show how lazy and non helpful they are!I originally paid a lot of money for the table in cash and wanted what I paid for expecting to get back the cash! However they claimed I wouldn’t get cash back but a check in the mail?????I said What!!! I was furious because when you pay cash in a store you are originally refunded the cash!!!I stood there arguing with one of the associates who had blue dyed hair and claimed he was the manager!!! I took my art table and got the heck out of there and went somewhere else!!!And he was rude as heck!And where I went they assisted me and put it back on my credit card as a one time courtesy!!!!Very nice and kind people!!! Worth shopping at and bigger location!!! Compared to this dump!!Don’t Shop at this store your risking losing all your money you pay over $100 won’t get cash back but a check in the mail that you’ll probably never get!

I give this store 0 stars.. Worst service I have ever had. Walked in the store asked for help and was told to go to the design center as if I knew every square inch of the store. Where is it? In the back of store. OK Where is the back of the store. I find it. I order 2 copies of a greeting card. Just the front of it. One week I was told. Pre paid. Called one week later not done and wont be done for 3 weeks. Was told if I want it faster service take it someplace else. I was so disappointed as this was a birthday gift. That I now will not have for my friend. I called the manager.I became so youre aggravated because now were have to do the whole story again. I have to tell my name and spell it and just go another 20 minutes into that whole thing again after Ive explain myself two times.i expect good service and to be told the truth.The staff clearly is not efficient. I will now be driving 45 minutes to go pick up my money and my card. Horrific customer service buy every single person I talk to including the manager. I Will NEVER shop here again The only way to post this was to give it a star.. I dont give this any approval whatsoever. Extremely dissatisfied.

This place is pretty cool - they have every pen you could ever dream of. You might think the staff would be comprised of brooding art students but they actually seem friendly. Though they constantly needed access to the exact spot I was looking at so they could restock it, almost like they were trolling me. Probably just a coincidence (though skipping that area for 2 min to let me browse in peace is also an option). Good place though! :)

The recent remodel is fantastic, its a lot easier to find what youre looking for now. The selection is still great, prices are fair and there always seems to be a sale going on. The staff is also super friendly and happy to help.

The staff seems more interested in personal banter than helping customers. I have no understanding of art supplies and was hoping to buy complete starting set for a gift. I was guided to a section and left on my own while the staff went back to their conversations at the front of the store. The store is clean, and the product selection is robust. It just isnt very welcoming.
Good spot. Large amount of square footage dedicated to kids crafts and gifts. If you are looking for more serious art supply selection, artist and craftsman or even the Clybourn location in the city may be slightly better. But these guys are extremely knowledgeable and have a fairly wide stock as well.

Visit there today to fine jewelry beads. They had a small selection. Pretty pricey. But I did not find what I was looking for

As a company Blick has solid products for solid prices, but the managers at this location make me not want to shop here. The first time I came I saw a manager I believe is called Biz working with a customer. She was being very short with the customer, I thought maybe she had been helping her a while and had become frustrated. I figured I should just let it go. When I asked for help Biz talked to me like it was such an inconvenience to answer my question (I paint for fun usually, but was looking for supplies for a class and was unfamiliar with the materials). She interrupts you when youre talking, which again I tried to consider that maybe she was short on time, but she does it repeatedly. I tried to return my materials as my class fell through and was met with the same attitude. I can accept that they wont return my money to a MasterCard gift card, Im sure corporate has their reasons. I cant accept unnecessary attitude and flat out hostility. The other manager doesnt even take over to ease this hostility, just acts like its an okay way to treat shoppers. I get it, this area can be pretty demanding, and Ive worked retail nearby its a taxing job. But everyone knows that, thats what makes it a difficult job. Reading these reviews I can tell Im not the only one to have encountered Biz. So my question to Blick is this: is Biz really worth having unhappy shoppers? I know I wont shop here again.
This store is completely amazing!!! I knew generally what I wanted and Hailey enthusiastically showed me multiple options of paints, brushes and canvases. She was so friendly, kind, knowledgeable about the products with tons of creative ideas and offered lots of encouragement; exactly what I needed as an artist and world traveler getting back into painting.The store is beautiful and super conveniently located in Evanston, close to NU and Loyola and the far north side of the city.I went to check out and got even more excellent advice from the cashier.. it never stopped!! From his advice, I bought a couple more items; gesso, etc. I paid for my items and turned around and yet another customer service/salesman was holding my 48 easel and 24x48 canvas ready to load it into my car, which was conveniently parked right out front!! Seriously, if you walk into the store with an idea and inspiration, the whole team will jump into action. I LOVE this store!!! Thank you so much!!

They put a new paper on the back of an old frame, the previous paper was ripped and was stained, a new hanger was affixed. Guess What? NO CHARGE. Great service. I will keep going back til I reach my untimely demise.

Pretty helpful staff, lots of stock of materials, quiet down town Evanston location. The stock is not over flowing, but I rarely show up & find something out of stock. It is a nice art supply shop.

My son got a new KiwiCo Tinker Crate spirograph and within 2 days used all of the paying that cake with the toy.We headed over to Blick Arts where the sales person was able to help us find the right type of paint for the job. Needless to say I should have gotten the bigger tube of paint, but its good to know where I can go to get it.

Blick has great supplies at great prices. I usually shop online for everything, but art/coloring/stationary goodies are almost always lower priced at Blicks. They frequently have awesome sales, and the staff has always been very helpful and friendly when I wander in with questions -- such as yesterday, they walked me through the easiest and most cost-effective way to display a 24 by 48 canvas.

Went to buy a floating frame. Initially told none in stock till 1 associate advised they did have them. It took 3 trys with 3 different people to locate and it was like pulling teeth. The only 1 who had a clue was at the register and the other 2 were disinterested at best. Wound up returning the frame because it was the wrong size but my 2nd visit was little better than the 1st. No one to answer questions or assist other than credit the sale. Isnt this supposed to be an art and framing store? If so, wouldnt it behoove your mission to employ and/or train your people? Just askin. In the future will go elsewhere despite location convenience.
This is my favourite Blick location. They always have great selection of Copic and Faber Castell markers! The employees are always super helpful and courteous too.
