I never leave reviews, but I have to share my positive experiences here at Classic Auto. I’ve been in for several services (oil change, brakes, bulb replacements, undercarriage issue, tire pressure sensor issue) and Joe always gets it done right and for a fair price. Today, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes, and it was a fraction of what the dealership quoted.Another time when the snow caused an issue with the undercarriage of my car, he took a quick look and excitedly told me it was a $20 fix. This was nearly two years ago and I haven’t had any issues since.I’m so glad a Lyft driver recommended this shop to me. Support this black-owned business instead spending a fortune at dealership service centers. Thanks, Joe!

Same-day repair (less than 2 hours total!) for a good price. Thorough while also making sure to do just whats necessary - no surprise recommendations of things to fix or unexpected charges at the end. Definitely would recommend coming here for car service!

Very honest and as quick as possible. I know nothing about mechanics, but they take time to explain stuff until I understand. Always courteous and respectful. Always reasonable and such great mechanics there. Use them, you cant go wrong with them!

I came to Classic Auto repair as a result of an accident. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. The location is clean and well kept. Joseph, the mechanic did an awesome job. Although he is a mechanic, he replaced my bumper, light, fender and did an oil change. I highly recommend his services. This was my first encounter at this shop and I will definitely be back.

He will help you check your car in detail and will give you an accurate report (some store will report some fake problems to ask you to pay more money).Two things to be noticed: 1) you will pay by cash. 2) the gate of the store is not apparent, so you should call them when you arrive.

Amazing service and amazing price

After the battery died on my 3-year old car, a quick google search led me to Classic Auto Repair. The battery had lived its merry life and I needed a new one. Joseph ordered the battery and had it installed all within 30-45 mins. This garage was super-clean, service was fast at a terrific price. I just found my new favorite auto repair shop.

Went in to get my headlight replaced. Joseph was great, walked me through the differences between headlight types, how he was replacing it, and which headlight bulb I have for future reference. Fair price.

I have a 2006 Subaru Tribeca and he has performed various maintenance issues that occur with an twelve year old car with 160,000 miles. He can be trusted and will take the time to show you the problem that needs to be fixed. In a field where trust is hard to come by Classic Auto is a business that can be trusted, and where quality work is performed at a fair price.

A hidden gem in Evanston.I am proud to say I now have my go-to team of mechanics: Jospeh and Robert. As someone that is clueless about cars, I always have a load of questions to ask, but Joseph was patient enough to describe and clarify them all. It’s sometimes tricky knowing which auto shop to trust. Especially when it comes to prices. However, I can reassure you Joseph does give an honest and reasonable price for his services. Each time I came to visit they were able to service my car right on the spot no appointment needed! I came to Classic Auto Repair with a squeaky car and multiple dashboard lights on. After my last test run, my car is squeak and engine light free! 😭🤩 I cannot thank Joseph and Robert enough for taking a huge weight off my back. Joseph fixed an oil leak on my Jetta and was upfront and honest. He took time to explain the problem and my options. I appreciated that he showed me what was wrong with the car before the fix and what he had done after. It took less than an hour. I can definitely recommend his services.

Fixed my guy car. Told him it would be $60 but ended up charging him $100. He called my guy and told him the belt was broken that he had just bought. He took it back and exchanged it, and received a call saying he was wasting the guy time, he is only one customer. He doesnt matter
