This is an enormous fabric store. Old school place in a rundown building. They seem to be very knowledgeable and have a large inventory

We found a representative on the floor with the upholstery fabrics incredibly rude. He met us and the first thing he wanted to know was if we were buying from them or just looking. We found this odd because how do know if you find something to your liking if youre not given a chance to look We reported this difficulty to the president of the United Fabrics immediately.We will be sure to let our decorator and her clients know to go elsewhere! One star is one too many!

Uodate - Though my first visit to Exeter Handkerchief Co was so positive with warm and friendly staff, the rudeness of the man at the store during my recent visit means I will not return.First review - Great spot for fabric. The third floor is a bargain filled with remnants for $9 a yard - $6 on Tuesdays. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The location at the train station can make parking a challenge but there is plenty of parking out back.

I love to visit this store, even when Im not needing fabric but especially when I do. Great selection, nothing but high quality fabric, knowledgeable staff ready and willing to help make the best selection of fabric for the specific purpose and some real bargains as well as exotic lovelies. Yes, it can be overwhelming, so be sure not to go without planning enough time to feast your eyes without interruptions, and know it might take several visits to whittle down the vast number of options. The decorators have prepared displays of many large panels of coordinating fabrics from several manufacturers, grouped together by color schemes into lovely serving suggestions of prints, fabric textures, varied weights and colors that play well together . Prepare to have a great time, pace yourself, and take a quick break in the wonderfully comfy sofas and chairs now and then. Its really a one of a kind place, and well worth a road trip to get there if youre from away.

Gorgeous fabrics and fabulous service. The very nice sales lady Susan cut me about a dozen samples. When I went back to purchase my chosen fabric Ellen let me use her scissors and cutting table . Ive lived 5 states around the country and this is the best fabric store Ive ever seen

Fabric galore! And some great prices. I always find what I need on the third floor. No notions, but not a big deal for great staff and prices.

The Exeter Handkerchief Company is a true find. The fabrics on the first two floors are arranged in attractive vignettes, making it very easy to look for materials, especially those that coordinate well. But if youre more of the type that like to hunt for your perfect material, the third floor houses remnant bolts of fabric. Everyone I have worked with is fantastic and is great about helping you figure out exactly how much fabric you need. I will keep coming back for sure!

Huge selection of fabric and bonus 3rd floor of mark down fabrics, all $9 except on Tuesdays its $6. Another great thing: have your old sofa cushions wrapped with new layer of batting. Cushions come out like brand new, $30 per cushion. Great for renewing an old sofa with new slipcovers. I did a trial on a love seat (2 cushions) that was two years ago and theyre still extra stuffed and cushiony, so I just went back to have my 3 cushion sofa done. Only took a few days too!

Couldnt find fabric on this trip. The place is loaded with fabric and more. A selection beyond compare, but the building is one scary looking fire trap. Someone spend some money on the place! It looks like it could collapse at any moment.
