I had gone to CKC for a couple years - loved it (I even referred someone). I have not been back since Memorial Day weekend of last year - when my virgin hair got absolutely botched during a color treatment gone HORRIBLY WRONG. See the pictures...it was horrifying, and I had to miss a family function because I looked so absurd. I have spent nearly $800 for extensive color correction, and treatments to get back to a natural looking brunette tone. My stylist was at the blackrock location - Erica, and I dropped $220 dollars - and was not refunded, or even called back by the Manager. During my first color correction (which took over 4 hours) the hair dresser called CKC and asked to speak to a manager. She kindly explained how the stylist who did my hair should be supervised or spoken to because my hair was completely orange (distinctly 2 different colors) and looked horrible (when I had asked for a subtle and natural looking bayalage - the first picture is the one I showed the stylist - who assured me she could do that - and called what she gave me a (beautiful golden tone). I had called and texted my pictures to the CKC salon - an assistant manager was all I got in contact with (because the Manager was never available). The women was very nice, and felt badly - but also was upset that I had not come back to CKC to fix my hair...I think that is a little odd, a mistake is one thing, but I was not about to go get my hair fixed by the salon that made my hair ORANGE! After texting the pictures - within a few days of the appointment, I thought a more immediate response would have been made to comensate me with a refund. It was also a holiday weekend and CKC was closed, and I was desperate to get it fixed, as I had a family function to attend. I was then told someone would call me back about a refund, this took a week. I then had only 2 missed calls (a week later) from the salon - the calls were during the work day, and I was unavailable to answer them. Having recently gotten a new phone and switching carriers, my VM box was not set up yet. Followed by only 2 calls - back to back while I was at work, I recieved a text that I felt was snotty, claiming that CKC was trying to accomodate me, but could not leave a message since I did not have a VM box - and that is the last I heard. No one reached out after that or called the following day...no one sent a follow up e - mail (basically the salon made no true effort to refund me...). I am so willing to work with someone who makes mistakes but as you can see in the pictures, this was more than a little mistake. My hair also has experienced heat damage - which I was totally honest about - however, heat damage does not turn your hair orange (during my first phone call, I was told that my stylist had told the assistant manager about my appointment and how my hair was so damaged - this is no excuse for what happened. Now that so much time has passed...I am not doing this for the refund or for another apology. I am doing it because for anyone looking to do color, I cannot say that I would recommend CKC - I also cannot speak volumes about the customer service, considering I felt this situation was handled very poorly, and I felt the salon placed blame that it was my fault I was not refunded because I had no VM box, and did not call back after that..but WHY WOULD I? After twice I was told the Manager was unavailable, and then heard nothing for a week...after sending a page long e - mail, and texting pictures and having my other stylist call...I would have thought the response would be different.

I have been going to CKC since February 2018 and Alyssa is the best. She listens to what I want, makes suggestions of her own based off my wants, and makes my hair look amazing every time I visit. You wont be disappointed with CKC.

This is not your usual service. It was refreshing to meet my stylists, Angie and Alyssa, who worked long and hard to fix the mess my hair was in. Not all stylists are willing to do the necessary work to make the outcome you hoped for. They so know what they are doing. I’ll be back.

Be careful when choosing a hair stylist here!I get color and hair here all the time and Aldona is the best you can find and so I referred the salon to my husband who simply wanted to get a haircut. He scheduled an appointment with Candice who had an opening at the time and he showed her the pictures of what he wanted, moreover, he explained that he never uses any hair product so the cut has to be made in a way so you dont have to adjust anything on a daily basis. She cut his hair and it looked ok; then she washed his hair and didnt even offer to dry it out with a blow dryer!!! (it was about 30 degrees outside). She also scratched the ears with scissors and comb. After he came home and washed his hair on the next day the hair looked as if a 5-year old cut it! Hes got a cowlick and it looks like she left a bunch of hair there, there are also strands of hair sticking out here and there.

Updated Review 6/17: Management was very responsive and appreciates providing a high level of customer service. This was fixed within 2 hours of my review and as a result I will go back and get my hair done there again soon. Thank you so michGiuliana (Manager).Review 6/17 : I just left the salon and I just feel a lil bad impression of what just happened...dont get me wrong I like the Brazilian Treatment she did and Its very good But I dunno if this is a common practice or usually do and I dont wanna cause any scene in the salon but I dont like what happened and dont like the way it was handled. She shouldve asked and told me right away when she started that is why I asked to many questions before booking my appointment and firmed with the price not adding more after she did my treatment that she said she uses 3 bowl in my thin hair (but honestly it just that she put little on the bowl and keep gping to get more but it didnt really feel that way) she added $40 in my $250 bill less 20% and yet I was still nice to give $30 tip on top of it. I hope in the future new customer they will handle it better and say it not leaving me with no choice about it but to add more in my bill.

I started going to CKC when I moved back to the area after a four year absence. The salon was newly opened and forging ahead full steam. I was very happy with the stylists and the work they did but as I learned what went on behind the scenes I became more and more uncomfortable with the way the stylists were treated. One began receiving menacing emails from the owners that appeared driven to make her leave her position. Another said she was subjected to lewd acts by a client during appointments and I was told the owners refused to call the police or ask him to leave because he spends a lot of money here.Stylists also said that when clients called to schedule appointments with a specific stylist if the owner was trying to force them out he would say the stylist no longer works there. When two stylists who left for positions elsewhere tried to return for the rest of their tools they told me the owner refused to return them and called the police to block access to their belongings.The industry standard is to pay commissions of 50% to the stylist. I nearly died when I found out that of the over $400 I paid for keratin, cut, color, blow dry the stylist was paid only $10 an hour! She probably earned $30 for all her work. Ive been told this is true for the rest of the stylists in Fairfield.Another former stylist told me recently that the owner is telling her clients she was fired for stealing. A lie such as this may be cause for a liable suit. In truth, she wasnt making enough to support herself on $10/hr. She stated she was bringing nearly $3,000 into the salon each week.It is extremely upsetting to hear that this kind of treatment is going on behind the smiles. Unfortunately many businesses fly under the radar and get away with mistreating and taking unfair advantage of their employees.
