I wish I could say I had the same experience as everyone else because everyone seems to love this place. Karen was lovely to work with but we never went over budget. When I was looking to purchase my wedding band, I handed them off my engagement ring because it was “customized” and they might need it for creating the wedding band and since they didn’t have the price, I told them to just let me know when you do. $2790 was the quote I received. It was way out of my budget so I asked if they had a discount. $2670 was the next price. Then I asked for the details of the ring because they had only showed me what the ring will look like but not what is in it. I received the details and then another price drop when I didn’t ask for another at that point at $2250. Then I started googling and found out that rings that had more diamonds and detail were cheaper than this price. I went to another jewelry store, gave her the details of the ring, and asked her if this was an appropriate price. She said I was being way overcharged and that ring should be sold closer to $1800. I told Karen about that and the owner came by with $1850. Needless to say, I would be VERY careful coming here without knowing what you are doing. I wrongly assumed I could come in here and be able to trust them in their work.

I went in with a very specific idea of what I wanted, and Duane helped talk me through the process with what I wanted and made it happen. The custom design process was easy, and their CAD rendering of the ring made it easy to make alterations and changes to the design. The final product looks gorgeous and I cant thank them enough. He was amenable to all of my requests and even changed the engagement ring design after Id made my first payment once I realized my gf wanted something else. I highly recommend Charleston Alexander for Mens wedding bands. I had no clue what I really wanted but Duane pulled out all of the trays filled with hundreds, maybe more of the Mens bands they have in stock for me to decide from. While I was selecting my wedding band, John came and helped my wife to be, create a custom made wedding band to match her engagement ring. It was a win win, one stop shopping for both of us. The Customer service and the selection they offer was top notch. And I have to add, I really appreciated the fact that they are following CDC Covid guidelines procedure as well. Summary: This place is the best in town for rings AND customer service!Using two pictures I snipped from the internet, they were able to design and build the perfect engagement ring at a very reasonable rate.Full story: I went to a few shops not knowing exactly what I wanted, except for knowing that I wanted to marry my girlfriend of 4.5 years and that she deserved a beautiful ring. All shops went over some styles with me and essentially told me to come back when I decide on what I want.After consulting my GFs mother and researching styles I returned to one shop with a picture of my style and a family heirloom ring from my GFs mom who had said take this ring and use it to create the new ring. (It was a beautiful multi-stoned art-deco looking ring with .47 center diamond and some other small stones.)The first shop looks over the ring and my picture and proceeds to spend literally the next 30-40min trying to show and convince me to get one of the styles they had in their catalog. I kept saying can you just make one like in this picture and he would say well lets look at a ring I did like that last year and spend 10min clicking on the computer just to show me a ring that didnt look like my picture. After almost an hour of continued poor sales experience I left.Enter Charleston Alexander --> I Googled some places and gave Charleston Alexander a call. They were appointment only (excellent handling of COVID-19) and just so happen to have availability at that time. I rush down there and present my picture and heirloom. Upon looking it over the salesman says we can make that exact ring in your picture.Boom, that was easy!About the heirloom however, the setting style I had decided upon could only utilize the center stone as the other stones were not the right size and shape.(He could have tried to upsale me on incorporating the other stones into a different style but instead he actually recommended that I preserve the family ring as much as possible and only use the center stone as necessary for my setting choice). They had a technician on site that removed the family stone and I received a CAD design of my custom ring within two weeks. Upon my approval, the actual ring was ready within another two weeks. The CAD drawings looked amazing, and the real ring looked EVEN BETTER! Fast forward to the magical night of proposal on the Alexandria waterfront..... she said yes!!

Jana was incredible to work with, and the setting of Charleston Alexander is very welcoming. I of course had never been engagement ring shopping before, so I started the engagement ring-hunt with my Fiance in March 2017, where Jana was wonderfully receptive to what she was looking for, and was able to find the perfect setting for my fiancé. Jana was originally referred to us by a friend, and it was easy to see why.Months later (September) I returned, and we were able to pick up right where we left off, She was not only able to remember the exact setting, but also my fiance’s sentiments towards it and others in the collection. We then started on the delicate, and overwhelming task of finding the diamond to suit the setting. There was a lot of back and forth in email and in person, based on what we each had found, and after a few missed opportunities (me not acting fast enough), we found it!We got all the paperwork and details in place, and she walked me through what we would be getting, answering all my questions.It was a beautiful stone, but it would take several weeks to arrive in the store (due to this particular one being overseas). Despite some potential hold-ups, Jana was able to make everything work! Ultimately, the Diamond arrived on a Thursday afternoon, Jana was able to have it mounted by Friday mid-day, and I proposed on Saturday! (Spoiler alert: she said yes!) This all was happening during one of the busiest work weeks I had ever had, and while I’m sure I also put undue stress on Jana, she was always polite, accommodating, and awesome!I got along very well with Jana, and with all of the associates in the store, and look forward to seeing them again soon!

When your making a big expensive purchase you have some concerns but a diamond ring adds more anxiety naturally. My fiance proposed with a filler ring so that we could go engagement ring shopping together. We met with Duane on a Tuesday and I had my ring on a Friday! We never thought we would feel comfortable leaving having signed on the dotted line on the first day we met with Duane, but he was great! I told him the stye I was interested in, and he brought out a handful of diamonds that matched the description. He walked us through the similarities and differences between the diamonds in terms of the color and clarity (because all diamonds at Charleston Alexander are excellent cut, and I told him what carat we were interested in), and explained the differences in pricing. He gave his honest opinion about what he would do in the situation and we really trusted his suggestions. Once we picked the diamond, I told him what kind of setting I wanted, and he helped me pick the perfect one and in the perfect metals. We were a bit nervous to not see what the ring would necessarily look like ahead of time, but we were FLOORED on Friday with how perfect it was. I worked with Jana Krnacova from my very first day at Charleston. Her knowledge and insight into the type of rings my wife and I wanted impressed me from the very beginning. At our first meeting, she spent over an hour introducing me to all the aspects of a diamond and how to determine what it was that I valued in an engagement ring. I provided her my budget and she actively monitored their diamond intake. Within a few weeks, she had contacted me with a ring that she thought was perfect (and well within my budget). IT WAS! I then continued to work with Jana for our wedding bands. Again, she provided outstanding service. For myself in particular, I wanted a grooms wedding band that was somewhat different from the traditional plain band. Jana found the perfect designer for me, and now every day when I look down at my left hand and see my wedding ring I smile. Charleston Alexanders prices are extremely competitive in this costly market. They offered me a 50% discount on my wifes engagement ring band since I bought the diamond from them. Recently my husbands ring needed repair. Even though I bought his ring while I was still living out of state, since the ring was one of the designers Charleston Alexander works with, they made it easy to have fixed. The repair was one that we had to send the ring in to the designer, but Rick Ramadan at Charleston Alexander made the process easy and made sure I got the best deal. Charleston Alexander is awesome. My brother lives locally and has been a customer of the store for sometime. I live in New England. When I couldnt find anything here I liked, he told me to contact Karen Wilson. Karen is awesome and helped me pick out an awesome ring for my wife. She was able to send me pictures of her selection so that I could pick something that fit my wifes style and my budget! Ultimately I settled on a beautiful ring for a great price. I bought my wifes wedding and engagement rings at Charleston Alexander over four years ago. They needed to have the pave stones tightened and a couple needed to be replaced. We dont live in the area, but Rick Ramadan was able to expedite the repair so that we were able to take them home with us instead of having to ship via FedEx. Benita greeted me with a very friendly smile and took me through their selection of pieces that fell under my criteria. At no point did I feel pressure to make any decisions or to commit to buying. A big thank you to Rick at Charleston Alexander for designing and creating a beautiful ring out of my wedding necklace! I rarely wear necklaces but have rings on every day, but was still worried about deconstructing the pendant that is so near and dear to my heart - he did an amazing job in matching the stones perfectly, and even putting a barely noticeable mark on the underside of the ring for me so that I will know which are the originals from my wedding day and which were added to fill in the design. If you want to find a perfect ring go to Charleston Alexander in Falls Church and ask for Jana. She is absolutely the best at what she does!She helped me to find a perfect stone and was very attentive and followed up with me on every stage of the process.We picked the stone and ordered it from their online website. But before my stone was shipped she did an additional quality control to make sure that it’s perfect. Unfortunately, it didn’t pass her quality check and she noticed some “cloud” inside it. Jana called me and told me about it even though I wouldn’t be able to notice it with the naked eye. She then found and ordered a different stone that was a much better quality and more expensive than the one I originally ordered but let me have it for the same price!!!When I came to pick up my ring I was absolutely in love with it! My husband purchased my engagement ring from Charleston Alexander, and he had such a pleasant experience, we returned to have a matching wedding band made there. My engagement ring band is almost entirely surrounded by diamonds, and my wedding band is an eternity wedding band. Unfortunately,but possibly as expected given the setting, a stone has fallen out of my engagement ring band more than once, and Charleston Alexander has been quick to come to the rescue to fix my ring in a timely and efficient manner, and it looks good as new after the repair! More recently, I lost a stone for a second time, and as a courtesy, they replaced and repaired my ring free of charge-- truly above and beyond my expectations! In 2011, I visited several jewelers in the Northern Virginia area to purchase my now-wife’s engagement ring. The only place that made me feel comfortable purchasing such an important symbol of love was Charleston Alexander. They made me feel welcome by listening to me, understanding my needs, appropriately voicing their opinion, and applying their expertise. My wife and I went back and purchased our wedding rings.In current times, my wife accidentally hit her hand and rings on her desk at work, dislodging one of the smaller diamonds on her wedding band. Luckily she was able to find it. We brought the ring and diamond back to Charleston Alexander and were promptly greeted by the same customer service we originally encountered seven years earlier. Mr. Rick Ramadan educated us on why the diamond dislodged and what we could do to prevent a situation like this in the future (including coming in for more regularly scheduled cleanings and inspections). Additionally, Mr. Ramadan graciously waived the regular repair fee!From my experience, the customer service I received in 2011 was not just a “mask” to sell me merchandise. Charleston Alexander really does care about it’s customers, and I can’t imaging myself buying a piece of jewelry or diamond from another store/merchant.

Duane and the rest of the team at Charleston Alexander is great. They custom made an engagement ring for my fiance, and went above and beyond in making sure it was beautiful. One of the largest collections of diamonds in DC metro area at a highly competitive price. Do your homework about diamonds before getting there. A lot of avaialbke diamonds can be checked online to fit ones needs and budget. Also recommend going there with a jewelry design in mind before visiting the store. Dont go anywhere else. Im the type of guy to research and get the best deal I can on everything I buy. I walked in knowing the exact specs I wanted and my budget (based on Blue Nile, Rare Carat, and James Allen). I was expecting the same treatment as I received from Washington Diamond, feeling of belittlement and unreasoning. All the establishments I walked into never gave me what I wanted and tried to make me spend an extra $2k over my budget to meet my specs. At Charleston Alexander, I got a better quality diamond than what I set my parameters to be within the budget I had. I got the diamond I wanted and she said yes.
