THIS OWNER AND STORE ARE COMMUNISTS. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMMUNIST. She BELIEVES IN KILLING BABIES, LITTLE CHILDREN AND ELDERLY. FARGO NEEDS TO PURGE PEOPLE AND BUSINESSES LIKE THIS!!!
Absolutely loved it! A gem of a used book store, producing fruit in several unexpected finds and the start of several new series for my collections. And best of all, several finds for my Sherlock Holmes collection! I will definitely be back!
Great selection of books! The woman who works there is the most pleasant and helpful person Ive met. It truly is a great place, especially with the option to bring in your old books for store credit.
DO NOT GO IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO WEAR A MASK!! the lady makes me wear one, but then the girl i nanny didn’t have to wear one, didn’t make any sense. she was very rude about the masks and overall not a great store. customer service needs some MAJOR work. 10/10 DO NOT recommend!!
Great store. I highly recommend guy stop in before a box store to see if they have what you are looking for. If they dont, get something else. Everyone loves surprises.
The gal that operates this store, knows her business, isnt personable, but informative... 🌞
Loved this little book store! I found 5 books for under $13.00 that I just love! Ill definitely be going back.
They have great collection of books and 1star for that. But oh boy,the owner(the lady in the counter) is extremely rude. She don’t care about the customer service one bit. She is kinda weird and very aggressive. But you will find great findings here
Though there is a somewhat decent selection of books, the customer service requires a great deal of work. When bringing in books in exchange for store credit and you are told they will open up a file for you, don’t expect them to ask you any of your information to in turn give you store credit. They also don’t give you instructions on how the trade in works even if they know it’s your first time. I dropped off books in exchange for store credit and though I was told a file would be started for me, I was never asked any information during the next twenty minutes I spent in the store or when I proceeded to purchase books. If you have a question while out of the store be sure to ask several days prior to when you need your question answered since it’s quite a bit difficult to get in contact with this business.
This store has a great selection and is very well organized. The woman at the front desk is very nice and was very helpful.
Great place with lots of different books for a very good price. I didnt find exactly what I was looking for but the kind employee at the counter did try to help and was very kind. The place was clean and organized.
CAUTION OWNER WILL REFUSE TO HONOR IN STORE CREDIT AT ANY MOMENT. Extremely rude owner, attempts to force her own humanistic religious views on customers and if you do not agree will refuse service and to honor in store credit.
Small friendly bookshop with great prices.
Great book store! Neat and well arranged. Not the biggest in the world and mostly fiction books. They have a great trade in program that you can get free books from!
Tons of selections, super nice workers!
Owner is very rude and unprofessional. Nonexistent customer service skills. Store is cramped and overflowing with books. Do not recommend even stepping foot in this store.
This place was great. They have a lot of different books to choose from at good prices and the person working was a lot of fun to talk to.
AWESOME FUN STORE EVER!!! I have been going to Books At a Fifth for as long as it has been open and have never been disappointed. For about 1.5 years I didnt go for other reasons but when I went back my card for trade ins was still there with some change for credit on it. The selection of books is exceptional. I have found many classic books in mint condition. I have told hundreds of people in our this place and the majority have told me they went and are now getting store credit for the old books. I took a friend in there for the first time and we wound up spending about an hour just so he could browse. It was fun. I love how the genres a sorted it makes it easy for me to know exactly where to head to if I want to see what is new.
Always clean and well kept. They have amazing books to choose from and such diversity in titles you can almost always find what your looking for, even when you dont know what it is.
This shop breaks the mold of what you would expect from a used bookstore, then it puts it back together in its own perfect shape..The store is not cluttered or stuffy. It maintains an open feeling of space that makes browsing its perfectly alphabetized collection a relaxing, and sometimes exciting, experience.A hearty thanks goes to the diligence of the sole employee, manager, owner for her amazing work.Thank you.
Great little bookstore. Owner is a very nice lady, always happy to help you. Suggests books you may be interested in. For the size of the store, has a great selection. Prices are very reasonable
They have a nice selection of good clean used books, many are in new condition. The customer service is fantastic. This is my favorite place to browse for books. I always check for used before buying new.
A great second-hand book store! The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and the store has a nice selection with great prices.
Nice clean and well organized! There is a good selection no matter which genre you are looking for. If youre trading in books take store credit, itll be the best bang for your buck.
Always full of treasures!
I have shopped many times here and LOVE the books ! Prices! And most of all the friendly store owner-such a treasure!
Delightful bookstore and very friendly staff
Sometimes you want to binge read books on a weekend, yet you just don’t have the money. Enter Books at a Fifth, one of the last places for second hand books in the area if I recall correctly. The owner has a pleasant demeanor and will help you look for any particular book/author you’re interested in. She also will accept book exchanges for store credit, and with the very cheap prices for the books there you can easily afford a slew of choices to make your weekends enjoyable. One advantage is that it’s located near a Barnes & Noble, so many people buy new books, read them, and end up turning them into this place so they can get store credit. Occasionally you can luck out and find current books there for cheaper, although I cannot guarantee this because many people keep their eye on the new inventory. But even the vintage books there are worth a read; the authors of new had to learn their trade from somewhere, after all.Overall it’s a real gem tucked away in a small shopping district, and it’s worth a look if you need to satisfy your book reading binge that plagues your thoughts.
Very interesting, lots of unique books. Helpful staff:)
Cute little book shop. Lots of books in a small space -just the way it should be!
Love this store. Always very helpful when we go in. The only complaint I have are the hours. I wish it was open just an hour later.
This store seems to always have exactly what I want to read even if I dont know what Im looking for when I walk in! Fantastic prices and the owner is nice. Will always return when Im in a browsing mood
Great selection of books at great prices. Owner is very friendly and helpful!
Great customer relations! ALWAYS find something good to read each time I go along with quaint atmosphere!
I cannot say enough about this lovely store - every time I pass through Fargo, I stop in and am always amazed at the treasures I find.
You never know what you will find in this little gem.
Great bookstore and great prices. Very small and cramped though. Went to see if there was any manga, and to my surprise there was nearly a whole shelf.
Lovely little bookstore. Great place to visit.
You never know What you will find Here, because the stock changes frequently, but you are sure to find something. Clean, great condition used books, friendly and helpful staff.
The organization is truly awful. They may keep it “organized” as they insist on their website but the genres are scattered all over the store. You will be browsing fantasy and then you run into a bunch of Christian fiction and then it jumps to fantasy again. The clerk was very rude. Every other ued book store in the world gives you a slip of paper with your trade in credit. It was not unreasonable of me to expect the same.
Great used bookstore, however a limited selection! Owner had a great attitude, was responsive, and very pleasant!!
Cute used bookstore, with much packed in. They are low overhead which allows them to sell books at lower prices than I have seen at other used book stores.
This is my absolute favorite place to browse and shop for books. Friendly service and knowledgeable staff to assist - my favorite.
Lots decently priced used books
Always great prices and selection
Very friendly owner, great store
Nice, neat, well organized store...great choices, great prices!
Classic book store. Cash only, great discounts, and you can trade books in for store credit. I love this store because of the great used sci fi selection (best in town that Ive found). You should sell your sci fi here so I can buy it :) Has that great nostalgic musty book smell that simultaneously reminds me of sunday morning coffee and sneezes.
Great little store! Great prices and you get store credit when you donate your books!
Great, I always find books to buy.
A nice assortment of books for all ages
Great used books at excellent prices!
Excellent selection of barely-used books at affordable prices
The organization was a little convoluted but the sales person was helpful and amicable.
The best place to buy used books!!!!
Small non-chain bookstore with a wonderful selection of book that are in new and nearly new condition. The prices cant be beat! They give credit for books brought in. I would rather browse this store and find nothing (hasnt happened to me yet...) than shop at a national chain megastore.
Love this used book store
Cozy bookstore with used books.
Used Paperbacks at Affordable Prices.
So helpful!
Bad. I called the phone during store hours no one picked up
